"HGV should have waited". Alternatively you could have noticed he had already started his manoeuvre turning from a main road into a tight side road and held back as soon as you passed the van so that he could complete it.
This is exactly what I was going to post. I suppose he couldn't hold back for a few seconds or he would have been late for some thing. Also, the HGV would have been blocking the main road waiting for "Mr. Important" !!
Agree, cammers could have clearly just held back a few seconds, not an issue but decided to make an issue out of their poor judgement.. unfortunately this is a lot of what these compilations seem to be made up of
That scots guy has a bit of anger, chill a bit. And how can you laugh at somebody having had an accident. There really are some strange and impatient souls on the road.
Someone got so upset at "Car Driving Andy" being called out as "space-closing Andy" two weeks ago, I half-assumed he was the cammer Iin question. Now we get another clip of Andy wearing his callous indifference to other road users on his sleeve, I wonder if his white knight will be back soon.
that on at 3:47 - sadly more and more people are doing that, with the mentality of "they can just eff-ing stop." I've been on the receiving end of that mindset when i was on a main road that was 50MPH with a staggered junction. Woman decided to take a chance in perfect clear day conditions. Hit her full speed in the driver side, rolled her car and the airbag deployed hard in her face. She had a horrible black eye from it and was screaming for help. Handed the dashcam footage in later to the police and she had to go to court for dangerous driving. Both cars were a right off, she was begging me not to claim on the insurance. Was offering to pay for my repairs too. Thing was, i injured my back, slipped disc at the base, so was off work for 18 months. So no income after a few months, no car to get the family around, you bet i claimed on her insurance and took her to court for the injury i sustained. Got a lovely cash payout and she was disqualified for driving and ordered to attend a driver awareness course.
3:04 No, he should ABSOLUTELY NOT have sped up. That CAN work, but most of the time it only makes things worse and before you know it you will have damaged your tow bar or worse. What you really need to do here is: keep the steering wheel in place (don't countersteer) and HIT THE BRAKES. When your trailer gets unstable, you DON'T accelerate. Ever. You slow down. This guy actually did the right thing in the situation at hand. He had made his mistake before, by going too fast and not hitting the brakes soon enough when the road went downhill and/or started getting uneven.
Don't brake - the caravan will push past you, Jack-knifing. Was always told to come off the power, don't counter steer and let the weight of the trailer/caravan slow you down. And then go get the rear tires checked - happened to my parents many years ago and it wrecked the tyres. Driver did well to hold it.
The number of wobble wagon towers who don't know about large vehicles having an air bow wave that's pushed in front of them. Then as they overtake the wobble starts, this one did even know how the reverse as they had the wrong lock on to start with.
in the meantime, speeding up in order to straighten the trailer as suggested in the video would have been about the WORST thing the driver could have done - ESPECIALLY if the weight distribution is the issue. Chances are the trailer would have spun even more out of control and, at the very least, have damaged the tow bar. In fact, excessive speed was the chief probem that triggered the problem to begin with (maybe he should have hit the brakes on going downhill - that trailer behind him pushes the car quite a bit when you go downhill, you need to take account of that). He was going so fast that I am not even sure there was uneven distribution involved. Either way, just go a little slower, especialy in curves and uneven surfaces, and this won't happen. If the distribution is uneven - well, you need to go even slower. It's really as simple as that.
@@ktgequestrian4475 I don't think, so I recon he was being hassled by WVD up his erse and made a minor misjudgement in getting out of his was FAF. IMO natch.
Mr Snakey caravan. Oh dear. First, get a friction hitch fitted. Second don't drive like a twat and realise you're only allowed to do 60mph when you're towing. Oh, and check your nose weight, and loading of your caravan, don't put anything heavy at the back.
The caravan will have a friction hitch fitted as standard. Plus it would've had an anti-snake device fitted because it's a top of the range caravan. He was driving too fast with it not properly loaded
4:46 white van seemed pretty close behind, wonder whether that was the reason the car cut across so quickly. Probably getting an impatient driver tailgating them as 2 hgvs take 3 miles to pass each other.
Unfortunately the caravan drivers mistake was made long before the incident occurred. The mistake was not balancing the caravan properly, if done right, it should change direction quickly just fine without wanting to swing. Unfortunately many people can now tow trailers and caravans without taking any kind of theory & practical test. Most drivers n the road don’t have a single clue about weight distribution.
7:00 thought their lane was closing so moved across before they got blocked in. Then realised their mistake and pretended they wanted that lane all along, maybe?
That crash with the 2 Trucks. Yes, he was an idiot for pulling into the path of that lorry, but did anyone else notice the speed that lorry was doing ? Got to be at least 50 ! 30mph road
Actually it's a 40 zone but it changes at the end its 30 then passing the train station it gota upto 40. However I must say the amount of drivers that do 50+ is unbelievable & it is the entrance to tilbury docs where the police stand & park 👍
#1:26 newsflash, trucks need room to turn and you came from behind a parked van, the truck driver left his xray specs behind and could not see you, "bad truck BAD!" next time breath and let the through. #2:03 although they should have made sure the coast was clear when fleeing the crime scene, maybe you should start anticipating that someone "Might emerge" #2:30 hope no one was hurt, maybe racing, maybe driving like lunatics, maybe just poor driving, but to laugh is childish #2:37 this is the problem with smart motorways, the people that dreamed these up came from a parallel universe where drivers stick to the rules and drive carefully, in this universe they "DON'T"
Snaking of the caravan. The driver was going too fast to begin with. He should have just took his foot of the accelerator, and let the car slow down on its own, don't do force braking. Big mistake that would be. He was lucky this time. If he'd have gone faster, it would have make it totally worse
Agree about the first part - he was too fast to begin with. Possibly failed to hit the brakes on a descent, forgetting how the extra weight is pushing the car to higher speeds. But once the situation was like that - don't countersteer and DO HIT THE BRAKES. But yes, he did get lucky. This could easily have ended in the guard railing. And if he had heeded the advice in the video (speed up to straighten), things could have gone MUCH worse.
2:40 "Smart Motorways" they are only smart, when drivers pay attention, or use some common sense, however that seems to be a rareaty these days and some people who get behind the wheel of a vehicle drive like a muppet

HGV and delivery drivers like Tesco are told "dont stop for them. You have a time to keep. You are bigger than them, noones gonna argue with you."
Agreed, highway code makes it clear that large vehicles need more room and to give them room. It doesn't say make life difficult for them.
This is exactly what I was going to post. I suppose he couldn't hold back for a few seconds or he would have been late for some thing. Also, the HGV would have been blocking the main road waiting for "Mr. Important" !!

Retard? Oh the irony.
You should have given that HGV driver far more grace as he was totally unaware of your presence
The hgv was already turning before you got to junction .But only being a car driver you think it's all about you
Yet his handle is HGVCam Perth. Which doesn't make it any better.

Laughing at an accident? M27. How do you know that someone isn't badly injured or even dead as a result.

Old wibbly wobbly caravan should check his nose weight, balance of his load and kept to his speed limit.
That last bus driver deserves an award. Not a nice one.
In the head on truck crash one, thats not the police thats worse for the tipper driver as it's the DVSA
The best place for them to demonstrate their lack of attention...or target fixation
I thought it was a paramedic at first, as the battenburg looked kind of yellow and green, but after looking up images of 'DVSA stopper car', I concur.
The last clip is hardly dangerous. The signs and cones look the same as coming to a roadworks merge in turn
Why should the HGV have waited? He had already started to turn before you came into view
Is that car cutting back in because you’re hogging the middle lane and barely overtaking an HGV
It is more likely because the car driver is a knob.
