01/2024 Total Cholesterol 192 mg/dL; LDL 82 mg/dL; ApoB 73 mg/dL; Tris 71 mg/dL; HDL 96 mg/dL. Thoughts. After listening to Dr. Daysprings interviews and struggling to keep my cholesterol under 190, I did my blood test and requested ApoB. It was not a problem getting that done here in Portugal where we now live (6 years) after living in the US for 60 years. Six years ago my TC was 247. I about flipped. I had been taking Red Yeast Rice for years and that didn't seem to help much. Then I went on a Cardio Complex, which did help. Unfortunately, I can only get it from the UK now and deliveries never reach Portugal. So I tried another one and it has helped bring it down from my last blood test 3 months ago from 205 to 192.
Thank you for this great information. I am wondering whether I should continue Rosuvastatin 10 mg even though I have now started Repatha. My LDL is high (124 mg/dl) but not alarming and my LDLV /APOB ratio is 1.3 suggesting that my profile is weighted more to the large LDL particle size rather than the sdLDL particle size. So while I do want to lower LDL it is not the top priority. Reducing my Lp(a) is the top priority and I hope that the Repatha will reduce it by 25 to 30%. I know that we do not yet have large clinical trials to prove that Repatha reduces MACE but am still wondering whether I should drop the statin now that I am on Repatha as Repatha should by itself reduce LDL. I was able to get Repatha prescribed because my calcium score, while very low, still shows evidence of cardiovascular disease.
Hi!!I have high chlorestral, ldl and triglycerides should I take a stain and some calcium buildup in all 4 arteries. My doctor says I should im 62 and my brother 65 has a bad heart and diabetes in the family and chlorestral 271,hdl 46,,ldl192 anf and triglycerides 172 and cal culated non hdl 226 and chol/hdl 6.0
Am worried about my high ldl. I have familial HC at 200 ldl. I take 5 mg rosuvastatin which gets LDL to 130 ish. I don't want to take higher rosuvastatin as HbA1C is creeping up. Taking zetia knocks LDL to 85. I'd like to get LDL lower without threatening HbA1c. Any thoughts?

Not a doctor but... 85 LDL is fairly low already. I'm not sure lowering it further is that important. But it has been shown in some RCTs that Indian gooseberry powder AKA amla powder decreases LDL cholesterol comparably to statins. However, I'm not aware of how it affects HGA1C, and I'm not sure if the effects are redundant when paired with statins.
Dr Dayspring is amazing! Thank you for this great AMA ♥️
Dr. Dayspring is the best!!! So glad to his dedication to Lp(a)
Please do not have music while the doctor is talking. It makes it hard to hear for those with hearing loss. Thank u
Awesome info by I one of the world's best educators in this field!
Dr. Dayspring is a treasure! I've learned so much from his teachings and blogs! 😊
