I started reading the Spark of Everflame last weekend since you hyped it up so good for me....and now 7days later I'm reading the 3rd book now where I am 165 pages in😂
Like I physically, mentally, emotionally and with my whole being cannot stop reading it!!! Last night I read Glow of the Everflame till 3.30am, and woah! After a long time I had this feeling for a book! The adventure, the romance, the absolute marvelous plot and the execution of it all by the author is simply chef's kiss to me!!!❤

Okay, came back to say “THANK YOU!” I started Spark of the Everflame yesterday and could not stop!! It’s so good, even right from the beginning. I’m already 50% through and will most likely finish it tonight.

I felt very similar to you on A Fate Inked in Blood. It started as a 5 star feel and fell to a 3.5. I think I’ll continue on out of curiosity, but it was underwhelming.

Same. Ink Fated in Blood was underwhelming for me, also so predictable. It kept me engaged but not one a would recommend to friends. But! I’m currently enjoying the Ever King. It’s kinda helping with my reading slump.☀️❤

It's been fun watching the Lady of Darkness series spread out through "the community." Even the besties over on Mel Lenore's Reads Patreon infectious love for it as a few of them all buddy read it made me pick up the first one. Looking forward to reading it! You'll of course have to keep us updated on when you read the rest.
Ahh.... I was so excited about A Fate Inked in Blood when I first started and it drastically went down for me. I honestly found it so disappointing that I hated it. I didn't like the plot development. I don't think it made a lot of sense. Freya and Bjorn agreed that Snorri was clearly twisting things to fit his narrative, but by the end she says that everyone should be bending the knee to him. Sorry, what? And I don't like Freya. She did some cool things but overall, she didn't accomplish much unless Bjorn was helping her. Her motivations made no sense and I thought she was kind of whiny. No one cared about her killing her first husband - LITERALLY NO ONE - and she's crying about it way later on. I thought a lot of the steamy scenes were cringey. If this had been a debut, I'd be more forgiving, but I thought TBK/TTQ were so much better and DLJ has written so many books at this point... there is no excuse for what she gave us and I hated it lol.
i'm definitely intrigued by a fate inked in blood, i do want to read it but definitely managing my expectations now! ☀

Glad that you're giving LoD a 2nd chance and enjoying it more, and I agree you should read it all before you go on to RoSaE. You can read it separately, but I think some things you will learn later in LoD will impact your understanding of the differences between LoD world and RoSaE world.

Was so interested to hear your thoughts on a Fate Inked in Blood because I also finished it this morning. Although I settled on a 4 star rating, I had similar thoughts to you. I thought it started really strong, by the end Freya was giving me Dani from Game of Thrones vibes 😂 I enjoyed it, thought it was well written and pretty fast paced but something (I can’t put my finger on) was missing, which meant I wasn’t obsessed with it. I quite liked the romance but thought there could have been a lot more tension - hoping that comes from book 2!

OK, I feel validated now because I thought a fate in inked in blood was just OK for me. I like the beginning but the middle dragged so much and the romance was just OK you convinced me to read the book because read Lady of Darkness and I never continue on with the series so you could be me to move on with the series,
You should absolutely finish LOD before starting the Legacy Series, which is darker, but there are lots of connections between the worlds and characters.
