I used to travel to Korea on business regularly and I really miss being there. My local supermarket has just started selling small jars of Kimchi. I open the lid and am transported back to Incheon, Gumi, Pusan, Suwon, and Seoul. Happy memories.

Hey guys- your little pet stalker here! Random thoughts- You would not believe the price of pork bellies in MIami!! This use to be poor people food- i grew up on it- being Cuban, I ate a lot of "chicharrones"! Now it is right up there with good burger meat at about $4.99/lb- crazy...
Point to my rambling though- I did manage to pick up some yesterday and it is destined to be Korean BBQ-

I was deployed to South Korea for a year, while serving in the US Army. I was at the post in Yongsan. I've been craving this food for so long! I'd love to make it at home. This video gives me some hope that I might be able to pull it off. I get the feeling that some of this stuff might be tough to find at my grocery store. 😕

I've been looking for a Korean styled grill. Which do you recommend?
The grill just has to be one on a slight slant, with an end part that lets the fat drip out. It comes in handy when the pork fat slides down to the kimchi and other vegetables to cook them in the pork fat.
I was expecting beef short ribs. I’ve never had like that. So this is the authentic way to eat Korean bbq. I’m a pork lover, you sold me.
Took me a while but I finally got around to getting a grill plate from H Mart. I’ve been doing Korean BBQ at home all summer!

once u eat it like u eat it at korean bbqs with rice, salad and lettuce wraps u get full easily with just a few so i think 3 pork slices is perfect between 2

hi i have a questiom about the sauces. typically when i got to a korean bbq restaurant they have two sauces ready: a spicy one and a regular brown liquidy one. Whats that one called? I really like dipping the rice wraps in it.

Is traditional Korean BBQ typically with pork or beef? I've got a local place that makes delicious beef spare ribs and the likes, but I always kinda assumed it was americanized. Loved the video! I gotta try it!
There are lot of different types of Korean BBQ - both pork and beef! In Korea, cost of beef is high, so typically we eat this fatty pork belly called 'Samgyopsal!'. Yes, try it at home... you will love it!
