    What's the best Kava strain for sleep? Thought i saw that in the video but i couldn't find it again

      Hey Tre! Thanks for reaching out. For sleep I would use a heavier kava like a sedative style. Bula Vinaka (Our fijian), Connoisseur Lateral, Barava (Solomon) or Borogoru. Are you looking to batch yourself or use an instant?

    Great video overall, but I don't think the concept of multi-generational wisdom and connection with the ancient past is foreign to the Western world, that's simply culture. Of course, it needs people to step outside their everyday struggles and purchase pursuits. I'd agree this concept is foreign to the Westerners if we meant modern consumerism or ignorance as the leading trait. :) Bula!

    • @drinkroot
      @drinkroot  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly what I was referring to my friend! It's more of the loss of culture due to the complete acceptance of modern consumerism. I feel like there is definitely a growing gap of interest in the wisdom of our elders. Obviously not reflective of the entire population but most definitely the majority of institutions thanks in part to the various facets of modern consumer culture. When was the last time we had asked in true earnest curiosity WHY our parents have done something a specific way for this long, and tried to replicate and connect with it to keep the tradition alive. for example, we have an aunt who is a practicing kahuna back on the islands, and outside of me there seems to be no interest (or acceptance) in the entire family, on the ancient teachings she has been trained in. These views are obviously my own (not reflective of the team themselves), but coming from a scientific research background I remember seeing a constant almost overarching arrogance that existed within the university system, against things of old ways and traditional symbolism. Almost like, being part of the technological revolution, that you were better than these practices, or you knew better. But maybe this is a statement that is just reflective of my own personal journey to humility, i dont know. What I do know is, the deeper my understanding became of the physical world around me, the more I became convinced there is a spiritual aspect we are completely missing. And the fact that modern consumerism breaks these symbolic cultural aspects in exchange for only physical representations to maintain the status quo breaks my heart. But again what do I know. I hope more people are like you and can still pull on that thread and feel the tension of connection to the wisdom of the past. Bula my friend!

      I believe the opposite. We are the power. It is not life that gets in your way, it’s your perception of life. Change the way you look at things, you change the way you see things….

      @kathynewkirk683 nobody is powerless its just really really really hard and work. I wish they didn't instill victim mentality into people but empowering people doesn't sell
