Making great videos as always, you got me purchased my first ring cameras, blink cameras, Eufy cameras, now you got me hooked on reolink cameras. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Reolinks are my favorite to use so far. I just wish the live feed would load faster, had rich text notifications, and hopefully these days the false alerts have improved. My unit is from about 4 years ago and having the motion alerts on blew up my phone for pretty much anything moving outside.
I dont have many issues with motion alerts (much better than my previous Ring).. I do have a few Reolink cams.. but lets focus on the front of the house, where I have a Doorbell and a trackmix. I have the doorbell set to alert and record to local sd only person/visitor detection, and only within my yard, to avoid picking passers by. The trackmix only alerts when persons are detected in my yard too, however, will also record Locally persons, vehicles and pets. My Synology NAS/NVR records almost all movements (and in future will be modded to do other AI based tricks, like loitering in the area outside our yard). Net result.. very few "false"notifications (less than 2 or three a week, and usually because of a quirk of the trackmix, that whilst it is "tracking" a pet.. it may detect a person outside the normal area), and virtually ALL real notifications.
The slow loading on the app is a BIG issue. Ive seen people complaining about it from people that have older phones, all the way up to high end phones and its a problem with the app, not their hardware. I wanna say it was a lot better several revisions ago in terms of loading times. (They also messed up the live view pixels on their PC Client software, not that long ago but that's a different story lol).
Greetings from Torrance! Happy New Year sir! Hope you were able to celebrate with some good pancit! What I love about this product is the auto tracking. Just that alone would make a bad guy nervous and would draw attention. It would be hard to break in or do any vandalism if they think they are actively being watched. Thanks again for keeping us up to date with new products!
I like the camera a lot..nice clarity @ 30ft……just curious to why Reolink would release it knowing about the motor noise in the recording playback, could be a deal breaker for some people……..
Hi There, new subscriber here!! I've got several Reolink camera's covering my property, unfortunately one has just let me down as water has got into the connection, even though I'd installed the weather proof connector. I haven't brought a camera for a few years and I'm amazed at how the technology has improved, now with Face and Vehicle detection, but also now the Pan and Tracking, WOW! It's just perfect and for such a good price. So, I just wanted to say thank you for such a great video covering all the aspects of this camera. I'm not even going to look at any more video, this one was enough for me to make my decision to purchase one. Just brilliant. - Neil (UK)
Old comment, but I have filled all my Ethernet connections with dielectric grease. All my high res, poe cameras operate perfectly with this specific grease filling the connections. I did this as moisture had damaged all my old cameras over a long period of time. (They were fine until I pulled apart the connection and corrosion had damaged most pins). I had to re-terminate my Ethernet jacks which is easy enough with a basic tool bought off eBay.
I recently purchased a lot of equipment from Reolink including the RLN36 and the USW-Enterprise-24-PoE (400W) from unifi. I have 16 and plan to add 3 more. I will purchase 3 of these cameras to round out my POE camera inventory. Also, I use the two junction boxes sold by Reolink to make fast replacement of cameras easy.
Thanks for the video. I have had nothing but problems with older reolink cameras. I can only connect when on the same WiFi, so viewing remotely never works. Setting up notifications was unnecessarily hard and still doesn't work. I got rid of them
hi, thanks for your great videos. you are the best at describing and showing the whole function of the camera. knowing all these cameras you have reviewed so far, i wonder whether you know which i have to choose for the 15-meter garden which i would like to have a nice view of the garden during dark nights with zoom if possible. so i appreciate you letting me know which camera is good for it. thanks
Appreciate the videos! Can you share what brand ethernet cables you use? Would you run Cat 5, 6 or 7? if you were starting all over again? I need to wire my entire project and don't want the cables to be the weakest component. Thank you again!
Make it a Full Colour Night Vision version with more pixel and I might be interested. That would negate the need for spotlight glare and/or need for infrared LED's. Just sayin' (asking!)
How do you see the pictures on your presets settings? .. also where to go to do tracking for person….. also on your playback videos to see the pictures or what it recorded
Picture quality for 75 bucks is pretty good.. Audio sounds a bit muddy...25 fps is great ! Light years better than new Ring stick up crap.. I like to see the New Argus Track coming out as well and maybe to a comparison between models...
Amazing how they let the pan motor sound drown the mic. The recorded sound from outside was really low. With all the AI power, they should be able to filter the mic sound
So when you say it works better with infrared lights, I’m guessing you’re talking about lights that you had installed in addition to the camera? Also, what Reolink NVR do you like?
Hello friend, I have the same camera and I have no option to set motion tracking in the app. Don't you know how this is possible? Is it possible that there are different camera settings for Europe and America??
Any way to save events to the cloud as a backup? Say for example a theft were the system is disabled or stolen. Also is there a way to connect a YoLink siren to this?
With this model as to cloud recording, No. you can add it to an NVR located securely inside your house though. I’m not sure about the YoLink siren though. You might using Alexa etc…
Reolink does have a cloud subscription that you can use as backup, some models like the duo 2 even offer free cloud storage, but in the long run it's cheaper to get an NVR
The panning noise alone would not make me want to buy it! It's HORRIBLE! Definitely a no go for me. Otherwise it is a nice camera, but for me a POE Trackmix is way better.
I really with the app allowed notifications to be turned on and off using the phone's location. Schedules are nowhere near as useful. Nor does it provide a list of events. If you've had notifications off, you would have search each camera's event list separately. Really hope this gets added in the future.
Let's say this camera is installed on a busy street, are you able to set a specific detection zone (let's say a drive way and front yard) as to not have the motion tracking following every car that goes by? Thanks for reviewing these cameras for us.
Looks like great camera, really disappointing though that it only works with Google as stand alone not with NVR. They really need to make the NVRs smart, otherwise will be left behind.
We're doing this, not good and they're. They're good cameras, but when they come to apps Like the samsung app They took away features it's not even fair

Thank you. I appreciate it.
I really dislike how at certain points, a person is invisible at night
Yes, because this one doesn’t have a low light sensor. I think it is better to just turn off the spotlight and set it to IR night vision mode.
Reolinks are my favorite to use so far. I just wish the live feed would load faster, had rich text notifications, and hopefully these days the false alerts have improved. My unit is from about 4 years ago and having the motion alerts on blew up my phone for pretty much anything moving outside.
I'm considering changing from swann coz the app sux and the push notifications hardly ever work.

It’s AI detection is way better compared to their older cams that doesn’t have it. Yup..rich notifications…

anyone know if this problems been fixed yet?
Which POE camera would you recommend after reviewing different ones for home setup? I ideally need 4 around my house. Cheers

Superb job like always! 5 stars deserved! happy 2024 an bless!
Great review, thanks. I'm not partial to the sound it records while panning.
Thanks for watching!

The motor on the camera sounds like the phaser from 60s Star Trek.
Thank you so much for this video!
Thanks for watching!
Is there a patrol mode with these?

I agree too. That noise is a bit annoying
With this camera, can you scan this camera via qr code to automatically have it load in your app ? Thank you. always love your videos !
So when you say it works better with infrared lights, I’m guessing you’re talking about lights that you had installed in addition to the camera? Also, what Reolink NVR do you like?
No, in my setup, the camera spotlight bounces off my ceiling causing a glare but it doesn’t in IR night vision mode.
@@LifeHackster oh I understand now you just changed the mode to IR. So what Reolink NVR do you like??
The panning motor could be used as an alarm sound. Damn, it is loud!
Hello friend, I have the same camera and I have no option to set motion tracking in the app. Don't you know how this is possible? Is it possible that there are different camera settings for Europe and America??
Do they make them battery power? Because my internet cable is way out of reach!!
Not this version. Thanks for watching!

How would this compare to the E1 outdoor Pro?
The panning noise alone would not make me want to buy it! It's HORRIBLE! Definitely a no go for me. Otherwise it is a nice camera, but for me a POE Trackmix is way better.
I would just have several different brand wireless cams throughout my yard, to get ALL angles clear
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Hi! Is it possible u could test Xfinity’s outdoor cameras 🥺

Thx.
I think the new 16mp reolink duo would be a better but more expensive .option
Let's say this camera is installed on a busy street, are you able to set a specific detection zone (let's say a drive way and front yard) as to not have the motion tracking following every car that goes by?
Thanks for reviewing these cameras for us.
You should or just turn off vehicle tracking in the settings.
@@LifeHackster Thank you
@merluzo8269 I appreciate your reply. Thank you
I would have this Installed in backyard if I'm on busy street
I hate the motor sound it makes wish it was quite when you pan
Looks like great camera, really disappointing though that it only works with Google as stand alone not with NVR. They really need to make the NVRs smart, otherwise will be left behind.
6:36 glare is reflecting because of the eves.
That’s what I said. Thanks for watching!
@LifeHackster probably mist it cuz I paused to comment. My bad.
When reviewing recording can you actually hear it panning, or not noticeable.
I really like this camera, after I review on this camera they added auto tracking lol
Great review but not impressed with camera. I’m more intrested in true color night vision with higher megapixels.
It would be nice if they have the CX410 camera on it.
@merluzo8269 I do have Hikvision ColorVu set up and it is awesome.
Reolink not connecting to alexa is disappointing tbh. Why tho??
It can as long as you set the camera up by itself first and not plugged in on the back of the NVR.
Those of use who need to use wireless equipment are really limited 😢
We're doing this, not good and they're. They're good cameras, but when they come to apps Like the samsung app They took away features it's not even fair
Sadly Reolink's Android app that runs on tablets or foldables is absolutely horrible.
It seem annoying to hear motor while you viewing through your phone
🌹💐👏👍💐🌷
Panning noise is right away no for me. Very annoying
