The cost makes it out of reach for so many. $1,060 for a month’s worth of doses. I am surprised that there has not been class action suits against food, candy, soda etc. manufactures because so many have a sugar addiction like people that smoked. Our food is manipulated so much.
I’ve seen videos of people saying they’re finding coupons on the manufacturers website bringing it down to $25 a month for the first year (3 months at a time). Not sure the circumstances but have seen quite a few people saying they are using that coupon
So exciting that tirzepatide is finally approved for obesity! I’ve been taking Mounjaro since august for T2, I feel amazing in my body and lost 20lbs. I also have Hashimotos, so weight loss was particularly difficult and frustrating until now. Very grateful for the amazing science that has increased my quality of life ❤ 15lbs to go until my goal weight.
Keep up the good work and I have no doubt that you will reach your goal. When you do, I hope that you set new goals for yourself and not be content with yourself. It will ensure that you don't gain the weight back in the future.
Anthem Blue Cross PPO refuses to include any of these medications for weight loss. My cardiologist, endocrinologist, and internal medicine doctors all have written to the insurance company due to the medical necessity and it was flat-out rejected by Anthem Blue Cross PPO.
Can you discuss the common impacts when coming off of these obesity drugs? I’ve heard there can be significant weight gain when ending treatment. Also the cost seems like a deal breaker for most people. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this question. These medications need to be continued in some capacity for life. As we start to recognize obesity as a disease, we need to treat it as such. Think of it like high blood pressure. You don't stop blood pressure medications when your blood pressure is controlled. It is the same with these medications.
I'm wary to try anything unless it's been on the market a few decades lol. I want to see as much long term data as possible before I put it in my body. This goes for my dogs too. As my husband says, "the old fashioned way to lose weight is the safest way and the most gratifying". Everyone nowadays wants the easy way. Thanks Dr. Christy. It's been awhile. Good to see you.
Don't trust fda or this Dr she's only been pimp out by the drug companies. that's all , stoo eating get to gym, stick to it u lose your fat for free and for good
I took ozempic starting last sept untill two weeks and lost 37 pounds, i then went to Zepbound and have lost 7 pounds in two weeks. I must say the Zepbound def works better and i switched over because i had worked up a tolerance for max ozempic 2mg.
My sister started Mounjaro nearly 3 weeks ago. Not for wright loss, diabetes.. Her sugar levels have never been stable in the mid 80’s. Thank you so much for informing us about this new RX. Happy Thanksgiving, 🦅
You can easily lose weight just by changing your eating habits. I was at PTCA at 2019, and I did total makeover with my eating habits and I lost 20 kilos in that way. Like I don´t eat *anything* after 6PM.

Eli Lily has a coupon on their website which brings the cost down to ~$550 per month. This assumes that your insurance does not cover Zepbound.

Still ridiculously over priced.

Oh well, thanks I’m cured! 🙄 Literally contributing nothing to the conversation.
Is Semaglutide still your favorite GLP1 medicine?
Should I tell my doctor to change me from Mounjaro to Zepbound
