I need to clean my evap coil on this unit that I have. Can I use a rinse free can of evap coil cleaner and leave it? Otherwise rinsing is going to get water inside. Do you have a method for this?
It looks like your area has a lot of ground mounted package units. Easy to work on. All my units were on roofs. Up and down ladders all day long. Knees shot after 40 years. As Ryan from Victory would say "Easy Money"
I would just like to thank you for this video. Changing out a 7 year old blower wheel and cleaning out the blower housing has made a big difference. The unit is quieter and putting out stronger air through the registers. One thing Curtis is I found this "L" bracket (1/2 inch x 2 inch, with a 3/16 inch hole at the top of the 2 inch side) just floating, kinda jammed in the gap between the housing and the front bracket that you first removed the screw to take the housing out and put back in. I have no idea what it is for. It looks like it was never attached to anything. Is this "L" bracket familiar to you? I can't find a parts diagram for a Rheem RSPM-A036J unit.
No quiche today. So that motor has 2 different cap requirements depending what hp is wanted? And how is hp selected, by the different leads used I would assume? Did you match the hp of old to new? Unit is flimsy looking.

For servicing that is one of the easiest package units to work on. I like the fact you can get to evap coil easy.Keep up the good work hvac guy.

Cap is by HP. Speed, amp draw to select motor. I was able to find a spec sheet online but the URL is too long to include here.

I pulled it because I wanted to add the repair to it. So, maybe Monday I’ll repost with replacing the coil.
