    Smokey is a true survivor in all senses of the word. He endured segregation, growing up in Detroit, having a drug problem, but is still here telling his story and singing those great songs. Salut to that brother

    I was blessed to have met Smokey around 1961 and later each member of the Miracles including his ex-wife Claudette. So hearing him speak on the era which we lived through brings back a whole lot of awesome memories for me. I can truly say that knowing Smoke during those years was awesome. He was a very kind and humble person whose special defense for me will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you my friend. It has now been a few years since I've last seen him... - L. • @tybooskie
      @tybooskie 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It wasn't the users it was the dealers. You have to remember that when crack hit the US was in a major recession and black people were facing unemployment in the double digits and were massively underemployed in low paying jobs in high rent cities. Many poor people of all races turned to dealing, including Asians. However, you are falling for the cheese and trap as usual, by suggesting drugs are a black problem. It is not, never has been. Most of our elders did not get cracked out. Alcohol and tobacco have always been bigger problems among blacks. It disgusts me to see those stores pop up in our neighborhoods. The biggest problem we face is lack of generational capital, networks, and white nepotism.

      My uncle wrote some songs that Motown claims they wrote . He played the music on his guitar & sang . They rejected him but kept the songs ! He has passed on & I married his nephew . Unc , never knew him but I got 2 hear his music & know him through the songs . He had a very good job but had a miserable tortured life from partially the non-recognition of his feelings in music. IDN dislike Smokey , Berry Gordy , etc. In fact Smokey was my fav when I was small. He is talented & he has done dirt but so have I & most ppl. I still love him & every1 but they should apologize & make right w/ my cousins who could g8ly benefit from some of the $$$$$$$$. No offense 2 Mr Robinson . I apologize 2 Father GOD YAHAWAH everyday 4 being disrespectful , unconscious , bringing up ppl's evil deeds (cuz I am loaded ) , etc. I am a sinner but I am trying 2 D better. I pray that Motown alumni d well . This story I feel is 99% true ! We can all B more
      helpful 2 others [incl myself]. I have a big procrastination issue & other stuff. Mr Robinson & all of Motown R professionals! I pray that every1 connects w/ Our Father's divine will. I am ill right now & mean no harm . Of course they inspire me 2 D the correct thing & I adore them more 4 being authentic ! I respect truth & meanful apologies. IDN enjoy having enemies . May we all B heavenly favored!!! I will watch the rest of video on TV . All praises 2 The Highest GOD !!!--TYAVM!!

You can hear the passion and soul in their music. The way he answers the questions and looks at the them while speaking is a art of him being trained the way these new artist to be now. A _legend_ in every sense of the word. This man singlehandedly wrote a major chapter of music history with the brilliant imagery and songwriting at Motown. _Motown_ really birthed superstars with all types of flavor. And that time, the first black owned record label with backing power. I salute the legends. They really changed the game and set the bar. Berry Gordy's vision and dream couldn't be any more spectacular. Classics from that label forever live.

It is my dream to have land that the children of those who were sold and forced into slavery can come to Nigeria to claim.
