I often follow you with pleasure. Only a small note: The sounds in the mix seem to come from the room next door 😊 if you have, as it seems to me, Reaper... you should set the settings or sound mixing less

Been waiting for this John. This tele is a bucket list guitar for me.

Hi John, I have owned one of these guitars for around 5 years, I love the feel of it and the way it plays. I certainly didn’t pay the current market price, so maybe I made a good investment. I certainly agree with your analogy of the Gibson sound within a Fender feel.

Got that guitar in that colour. For an Indonesian made guitar it's blooming great. Best £799 I spent.

Hi John. I had the chance to buy one of these in the darker colour, but passed up and bought an fgn iliad ibuia instead which is a similar guitar, swamp ash with ibuia veneer top. It also has sd pickups, but a jb bridge and jazz neck. Like the fender feels comfortable to play, only the fgn has a nice satin neck.
I went for one of these types of guitars as I just couldn't bond or get on with my Les Paul, so I traded it in.

Love the guitar but it’s way to expensive… I bought the Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted FNT… Same concept but a much cheaper option… I enjoy your channel & guitar playing… Thanks for sharing!

I have one of these, the fingerboard isn't rosewood, it's actually Indian laurel... lovely guitar. Great review too!

Is this a Fibson Tele or a Gender Les Paul? Fun demo, John. Nice flame top and no pickguards anywhere to spoil the look.

Sounded good in the various ways you used it in the track. Didn't think it sounded much like a tele, though I agree you could get away with it for a song or two at a gig as you mentioned and you could probably tweak it with an EQ pedal to get you the rest of the way. I was surprised at the current retail price and frankly wouldn't pay it but the good thing is that you don't have to if you're willing to buy used. I bought mine in mint condition a few years ago for about $500 (400 GBP) and thought it was a bargain, esp since I think it looks like a much more expensive guitar. Prices have gone up but you can easily find a used FMT for under $600 in the US and probably for under 500 GBP on your side of the pond. Imo they're well worth it at that price. I like the sound of the Seymour Duncan pups and the versatility of the coil split adds to the fun, making it one of the guitars I'm most likely to pick up when I'm in the mood to noodle.

I was sorely tempted by one of these guitars when a certain store in Germany(you can guess which one)was selling them for less than 500 quid about five years ago, but at the current price no way on earth would I consider it.

Very impressed with this one 👍
I've got a very similar vibe going on with a 2004 Squier Master Series Esprit (Robben Ford-esque).
Actually just picked up a 2nd one yesterday 🙈

I bought one used for 400 when they were 666 new. I never connected to it completely. I can’t get the action low and one string made a pingy noise. I think the nut is not cut well. Maybe a case for a guitar builder to check. Overall it sounds and plays very different from a Les Paul.

Absolutely fantastic demo of the capabilities, sounds and tones this guitar John. I bet you have just sold a canny few of these guitars for Fender. ( they should be paying you 🙂 ) - I know I am mightily impressed ( and it's a beautiful looking guitar too ) and would pick it over a Les Paul every day of the week. ( apologies to Les Paul lovers, it's not meant to offend, it is just my personal taste ) 🙏

I agree with most of what john has said, that is my guitar by the way,i loaned it to john to do the review however i wouldnt have paid £999 for it but then i bought it for £500 which i think was a bargain and i also think you would struggle to get a better spec guitar for that kind of dough

I have been looking for one of these second hand and you have not put me off; I think you do have to accept anything that says e.g. Fender or Gibson on it will cost a bit more than you think it is really worth.

But John, is this guitar not very similar to your signature guitar? What's the differences?
