The SC came out awesome. Also love the custom dash in the Contender I would just worry about when the time comes to replace/upgrade the Simrad unit.

Love the show and find it very helpful since I have been working on a project myself for the last 1 1/2 years.

So question on the Contender. If their are issues with the MFD, how will it be pulled out from under the acrylic with all that 5200? 😂

Hey FL Sportsman, How bout doing a segment on the worst boats you can buy? What brands to steer clear of?

I really loved the Pro Line restoration. I would love to incorporate some of these things he did into my boat. Can you tell me where he got the front bench seat, center console, and leaning post? Or were these all custom jobs?

These parts were all custom. John is very skilled in fiberglass work and also welding!

It would be nice to see boats for the blue collar guys. Beautiful boats most of us get to admire from the docks but none we cam afford.

Guys restoring 30 year old boats themselves is pretty blue collar

When are you going air an episode showing how to get that panel off without breaking it. There are other options beside 5200.

Transom brackets/extensions aren’t a simple bolt on. Especially on an older boat. If the transom wasn’t originally designed for it, then not only should not only be inspected for integrity but MUST be structurally augmented with additional Coosa board, gussets and fillets to tie into hull and stringers. These brackets can more than double the stress on a transom through leverage/cantilever forces. There’s a video of of twin 300’s on a bracket sinking off the back of a boat with a bilge pump removing water probably due to a ripped out transom. See “Boat fail/win contemplation 2020”. Don’t let this be you, miles offshore with no time to give a Mayday.

Love the seacraft but can’t help but feel like twins were the wrong move for it

Mike custom sized the Armstrong tub to get max floatation, but I agree. The scuppers were still under water. Single is definitely the way to go! For my build anyways.

no idea how those engine brakes are strong enough

Eww, imagine if that Simrad screen took a shit on that contender, that would be a nightmare & expensive to replace.
