Athens Authentic Marathon 2022

The race is starting in the city of Marathon and finishes in Athens. It is intended to be close to the original Marathon distance, which was run by a messenger to inform the Athenians that they have won the battle with the Persian army. This is a special race for any runner, not only for the historical reasons. The path goes up along the 20 kilometers, exhausting many runners, running out of the city, with rocks and sun. Last 10 kilometers are mostly running down with a great support of people of Athens and dramatic finish in the Panathenaic Stadium (Kalimarmaro).
