    Outstanding information, Chris! I have one little suggestion. For my screw-in hangers I use electrical wire nuts on the threads to prevent them from poking a hole in my carriers. They easily screw on and off. Also on my spurs I use a short length of water hose to slip over the gaffs to make them poke proof.

    I was younger we’d use those old rope steps a lot, we could really run and gun our stands using those

    Thanks for the video! I just ordered that pack. But I have 1 question: Where can I find one of those T screws for the camera arm? I can not find one online. Thanks.

      The company that made my camera arm offered them. They're no longer in business, so you might have to make one yourself, or have one made by anyone who can weld.

    Hi Chris, a couple of video ideas would be your background and how you came into Traditional Archery and the other your Tree stand and how you climb, I think would be good ones.

    I've just switched to using a drill and bolts. I got them to try and couldn't believe how easy it is. I've been wanting to try some spurs, just unsure on which ones to get. I use a 3 arm ez hanger that I stuck a head on that I can attach my camera to. Your arm looks much better, too bad they don't make them anymore. I may have to make something similar to yours and use a t-screw. I really like that fanny pack of yours. I use an old Fieldline fanny pack with my hang on, but you have me wanting to upgrade. For early season I've just been using a little sling pack from Walmart to attach my saddle platform to. Once the weather cools off I switch to my hang on. I've also got a hand climber that I seldom take out. Thanks for sharing this!

    With all the walking you do and often hunting spots you find in real time, what stand are you using.

    Mine changes somewhat depending on time of year. I'm also a fan of the fanny pack, however I primarily use a Lone Wolf climber so I attach it to the stand when I walk in and out. Bout the only thing I carry that you didn't mention is a powder windicator and some wet wipes. I also bought a small pair of 8x25 Meopta binos due to a recommendation from Eberhart on one of his videos to carry this year.

      This is the set I have. I would highly recommend spending the extra money to get an aluminum set. They're a good deal lighter. www.bartlettman.com/products/klein-tree-climber-set-1?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhY-aBhCUARIsALNIC042u1nn2uKyuUegroE1a2YZu_WehKM37QxZdIf5sfYxtanCR_IshAMaAuq3EALw_wcB

    Chris, how long does it take you after you pick your tree to be ready to hunt. I’m going to guess 30 minutes. How close did I get. Thanks buddy👍 your a deer killing machine!!!😊

      It depends on how I'm climbing. With the gaffs, I can be on the platform in under 5 minutes. With the drill, going 10 bolts high, probably 12 minutes if it's the first hunt and I'm drilling. On repeat hunts with the holes already drilled, less than 5 minutes. The rope-on steps are the slowest at probably 15 minutes, but I don't use them enough to have developed any speed. Now, if you're talking completely set up, with the camera set and an arrow nocked, you can add another good 5 minutes to those times.

    Great info Chris! Found your channel a few weeks ago from Robert Carters videos. Been watching all your videos and love your channel. Is that Canon M40 the only camera you use to film? I’m interested in starting to film some of my own hunts and wondering if you like that camera? Keep the videos coming!

      I love my Canon M40. I bought it direct from Canon back in 2011, and it was a refurbished one. It's still going strong. I'd say I've gotten my money's worth out of it if it never powers on again.

      If I'm drilling in the heat during early season, I will take my time and pace myself so I don't get overheated. I'll still be drenched with sweat, but it won't take as long to cool down.

    your nylon meat sac, do you shoulder that and rest on top of the fanny pac or do you attach it to your tree stand as a pac frame?
    looks like the shoulder straps would dig into your shoulders if you had a long walk out

    • @TaggingOutTraditional
      @TaggingOutTraditional  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll have 3 sets of straps on my shoulders (pack, meat sack, and stand) and the weight is fairly well dispersed.

      This is the one I have. It's a 35L, they also have a 40L. I think I've packed out 48 deer with mine so far. It's held up really well.
