It's a pleasure to watch Bob and yourself working together John. There's something very special about two people at ease in each other's company. Mart.
Bob laughing sounds like he has breathed too much brake cleaner or John plied him with a few pints before videoing. It is wonderful to hear one of us old guys still laughing and rescuing the younger set. Keep up the good times.
hi john i had a broom and wade compresor with a simler oiler i need to fill the sight glass with water and the oil floated up the wire and you could watch the oil going up the wire i have realy enjoyed you rebuild the staurt engine thanks andrew
I've been smiling and laughing since Bob walked in. I bet you two are right rounders when you are out together. Tell Bob it was a joy to see him. That's not much oil coming out there...is that enough? See you next time.
Both balls go in the big hole a small light spring should be between the two balls, ( will the top large ball seat come out/ be removed?) to help close the small ball (if so take out that seat put in small ball and use spring fit on ball, and bigger on top. so the top seat holds the spring in place.) and a heaver spring on top the the big ball to keep it closed with back stroke of plunger! So can suck in oil then spring close small ball as plunger strokes forward displaces oil up and out the top larger ball then heavy spring closes big ball. This repeated over and over! Also may need a o-ring seal to keep oil going around plunger and it’s bore! Think the springs in the sight glass checks are to be used in the pump balls! I have worked on a lot of pumps of all kinds! Think about it see if I am right!
The screw adjustment on pump. Is just a way to take up space between the balls and displacement area! So less oil can fill the pump = less oil pumped !! Why this is called a displacement pump!
Great video John when you and Bob are together it’s like an episode of Auf wiedersehen pet Bob sounds like Tim Healy aka Dennis Patterson and you as Jimmy nail aka oz osbourne lol great stuff and a laugh a minute god bless
That was so entertainin'! How about the odd John and Bob show working on old Motorcycle engines with the the actual uncensored banter . You'd be on TV next !
Id recommend everyone tries to support john on patreon. For just £4 a month or £1 a week its well worth it, plenty of content, outtakes. You defiantly get value for money compared to other youtubers.
Well a clue #1 is the spring hung in the bore! If the spring is stuck and can not hold and release the ball, it will not work! Try to smooth out the bore so the spring can move freely!
When John need help from Bob a bright light is shone to the clouds in the shape of a giant micrometer Batman style so Bob know somethings wrong I bet when you two get together it’s like two young lads on a night out you both are a pleasure to watch with Bob infectious laugh and John swearing keep it up lads bloody great viewing 👍👨🏻🏭
Hi. John ...if you ever get stuck again with the Stuart engine give Keith Appleton a shout he's on u tube and he's got one .I'm sure he would help .......thanks for all yer vids
john why dont you cut the seats for the balls on the mill, use a bull nose cutter, there is no way in this world will bob cut a proper seat with a end mill in a hand drill
Sorry NOT impressed with Bob's attempt at reseating the ball using a battery drill. Close up shot showed horrendous chatter marks, would have been better for John to set it up in the mill and do a proper job.
An absolutely excellent video. Does bob have a TH-cam channel? Please don’t slate me for this. I’ve had a couple of beers😂but, are they not the thinking mans Ant and Dec. 🤣🤣
thanks all for the complements and yes we got it working bob grate vid john
Gud vid Bob! I hope you are well, I want to subscribe to YOUR channel fella! Hint hint...

With my marine engineering back ground I would have turned up a lap and lapped the seats. That way you know its correct. Ian - New Zealand

Hopefully you will get it sorted. Thanks for sharing. Best to Deb's.
Take Care and Stay Safe.
Bob
Great to have Bob around.

You're right. No water defeats the purpose of the sight glass.

It is always a treat to see Bob.
Hi Bob! I get a kick out of watching you work on things and hum your merry tune.
Great to see Bob - The Master of Metrological and Mechanical Mechanisms back on camera 😀😀😀
Thanks to you both for sharing
That oil pump has certainly been giving you fits since the beginning.
Good ole Bob, always happy to pull John out of the shite when the fiddly work needs done!
Missed ya Bob. Good to see you again.
You guy's are having way to much fun, great video John, keep'um coming.
Bob looks at the engine parts laying about and says "I know what ya done" Doesn't sound good for you John... Glad you fellows got it going.
Lllllĺ....

I do like Bob, has he got a TH-cam channel? He seems to be a very handy chap to know! Oh yeah.. Thanks John, tee hee. 👍🏻
Nice to see Bob back in action!
Double trouble 🤪😜, great job both.
Thanks for sharing.
Great work. Good job getting it going. Nice to see the great Mr Dixon again.
that's a Tim Healy laugh if ever I heard one! Well done Bob!
Always a pleasure to see Bob

Imagine how good you have to be for John to call you because he can’t fix something. Thats next level shit.
Great fun, and maybe even a little work accomplished too!
It is not a Stuart engine but a miracle machine, a miracle it works. It is amazing what you two have done.
Ball just flappin about....sounds like mine at age 62...
Great Video as usual John.....Bob is a character.......and a great craftsman

Thanks for sharing! Bob is a hoot!
Hi. John ...if you ever get stuck again with the Stuart engine give Keith Appleton a shout he's on u tube and he's got one .I'm sure he would help .......thanks for all yer vids
If you close your eyes, it's Bob Mortimer. And that's meant as a compliment. Well done lads.
You need a new channel - John & Bob at the pub. It'd be hilarious.
It's old and tired, i know how it feels.
Just call Bob and Bob's your uncle.
John, perhaps you should get your business cards made out of joint paper. You'd be flash as a rat with a new gold tooth then!

Yea in a Rolls workshop , but those old engines don't need fine tolerances as they just showed , obviously Bob knows his onions.

You think you were confusing when watching electrical engineering videos
Ii
Enjoyed the repair and the companionship of the two of you. Thanks for the look.
