Best video you have ever made for getting people interested in Boating
WOW, thank you, really happy to see that you enjoyed it.
Long time subscriber here. I really liked this one. It shows that you are a simple human. 😊❤
Thank you so much 😀
The mariner's safety is not in the Port, but in taking care of the boat, which, if well looked after, can cross the worst seas. If we don't know where we want to go, not even the most favorable wind will take our boat to any port.... Great video Captain!!!!
Good point!
My first boat when we moved to Vancouver Island, Canada was a 2012 Larsen 260. Almost the same boat from what I see here. 😁
I can not believe you can not access the anchor locker. Pretty sure you can reach it from the cabin. In my 2001 cruisers yachts 3470 express there is also a mirror with speakers next to it like that larson. and the mirror has hinges. When I open it I have good access to the anchor locker and winch motor. In my boat the mirror has a knob on top to open it. Maybe the Larson has magnets?
We started with a 4,2 mtr long four seater speedboat with outboard. Made a camper canvas together with my mother in law that can handle a sewing machine like a champ. that canvas looked like it was made by a professional if I may say so myself. Did watersports but also a lot of very primitive camping. and almost always at anchor ( on a lake). Sleeping was like two sardines in a tin. we touched shoulders and it was filled 100%. Making coffee or tea was done while sitting on the outboard engine cowling and holding the small camping stove and kettle on one of the two the sloped 20x30cm " rear decks". We watched a movie on dvd with a little portable car entertainment system. Great fun.
Then converted to a Maxum 19 ft cuddy speedboat with 4,3 mercruiser. Equipped with a oem camper canvas and a little cuddy to crawl into to sleep. Not high enough to sit up. micro porta potty under the bed. Had that for 10 years ( still do but have to sell it) and bought the cruisers yachts 3470 this early spring. Great upgrade. It has twin yanmar turbo diesels 230 hp each and a lot of space. Love it. Do miss the raw power of the v6 in the maxum but love the comfort on the cruisers. Just being at anchor for a weekend is great. A lot of swimming with our daughter and now enough space to have some guests comming with us. Boats are great. prices and winter jobs a bit less.
Unfortunately, we did check behind the mirror and the entire chain locker was sealed shut. Very bizarre but we've corrected that wrong now.
walking out of the cabin in the morning felt great!
BEST FEELING!!
Great little video. Totally agree you don't have to have a giant boat. A nice little compact boat will do the job. Just being out on the water is what counts 😎
Very true!
Love it
Thanks for sharing,
Keep them coming please.
Nice to see you gone back to your roots what a video keep them coming.
Last time i went boat camping was off a little island in Florida on my 14' aluminum boat with a bimini, a little deck in the front of the boat, a 6hp 2 stroke motor, and one of those chairs you swing around to inflate. Slightly different than what you've got going on here, but truly fulfilling.
I'm enjoying your videos, btw. I just discovered this channel and watched 5 videos consecutively.
Great video giving us a boat/cabin tour, Captain Tristan.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This brought a 😄 to my face. Thank you! 🍻
Great to hear, :)
I think the anchor locker access will be accessible behind the mirror downstairs
Was about to post the same comment
The couple design flaws you pointed out notwithstanding, your dad got a great boat. Lovely change of pace.
As someone that just bought a similar boat, I'd love to see more videos especially on maneuvering
Hope your Dad enjoys his big boy toy. Props to a good son for flushing the water tanks.
Great episode! And congrats to your dad and family on the new family pastime 👍👍 Be safe and keep rolling along! 👍👍
Really happy to read that you enjoyed it.
@@SuperYachtCaptain 👍👍
Fun, different video; as always great job.
Thank you 🤗
High time to upgrade the old water strainer lock to the new transparent lock with the kit from Volvo Penta. The old design can potentially sink the the boat under way in a very short time. Even the old plastic belt pulleys should be upgraded to the new metal ones. As these things should have been done long ago, it seems better to check all the VP bulletins and make sure they have been implemented in this boat. There are more things in the original design of the time that could sink the boat or leave it stranded under way (especially if it has an DPH drive from the same era). /long time D6 310 DPH-A owner ;)
You should become part of Captain Paul's fleet and name her Loon 274....
Captain, what a cool vid! I would love to try. I think camp in a little boat is a lot of fun. Ciao!
I love it, any excuse to be on the water. :)
At 9:08 a very wise statement is presented by a true captain ❤
Nice video..like this kind of vlogs 👍👍its a bit more affordable 😁👌
Glad you liked it!!
For a boat that size do you suggest a rib or a classic boat?
Depends what you want. Both constructions have pros and cons
Still a small lottery win away for me,but I would be happy with this,as would most super yacht owners really
Bathrooms on all boats are referred to as “heads”. 😜
lol don’t have a curry and sleep there
Looks like a fun little adventure there. Can’t wait to see the rest
It was great fun.
Not sure sleeping on a luxury boat can be considered camping 😂
I'll bite, what should we call it? :)
Glamping ( glamorous camping). A pretty common term in the Netherlands people use for going to campings in for instance a rental stationary safari tent with aircon and shower etc.
Do you miss been a captain and any plans to go back to sea
Never say Never ;)
@SuperYachtCaptain hope so I think I can safely say we all miss the superyacht captain vlogs
👍⭐🥰
A "brewsky"...what are you like 12 years old having your first beer????
U should know first rule.. Yacht buyers only buy new unless it's their first boat
I've never heard about this "rule", tell me more.
I've owned 13 boats/yachts from 40 to 125 feet. I've never considered buying a new boat. I love old cars, old trucks, old boats and one old woman.
