Food Review Friday 130: Pho HP

Pho HP Huntington Beach has a banner outside their space saying they're the best Vietnamese food in town. and I can never resist testing claims like that. So of course, while I was visiting the area, I checked it out. And I was... pleasantly surprised! the portions are pretty good, the flavors are good, and the service was great. The short rib pho was recommended and did not disappoint. $15 for two big short ribs with fall-of-the-bone tender beef, a deep brown broth, and excellent flavor. I suggest adding like and basil to the soup to give it a little more body and complexity. The seafood rolls were good but not spectacular, but not a disappointment. Combine that with compassionate service that respects both customers and folks who could use a little help, and this place passes muster.
Verdict? That's Hot Food (great!)
