Lead acid batteries are properly and correctly filled when the electrolyte (the water/ acid mix) is approximately 1/8th of an inch above the tops of the plates, any higher causes voltage bleed out and liquid expansion out of the fill holes as in this case when it expands due to normal plate heating and over time only being (over)refilled with distilled water alone meaning its acid percentage drops, many a battery has been rendered useless by over filling thus causing boil off of the electrolyte most battery failures and diminishing charge retention are a result of the plate faces phosphating up over time lowering their abilities to tranfer ions to each other through the electrolite, and sluffed off lead oxide dropping off the plates and congealing on the floor of the battery where they sludge up and basically it continually shorts itself out meaning even a high amperage charge wont budge it. Now i can get it up to 9volts and there are 3 cells bubbling alot and the other 3 are just now starting to bubble a little bit. The metal inside the three cells that are boiling alot looks brand new and clean. The metal inside the other three cells still looks corroded. How long does it usually take to desulfate every cell? As long as the voltage slowly climbs higher, I assume that it is still progressing and desulfating.
I saw someone put something on TH-cam about desulfurization using baking soda but you pour all the acid/water whatever you want to call it out into a container or bowl big enough to hold it all then they poured in a mixture of water & baking soda sloshed it around in the battery (with the caps back on of course) then let it set for some time (don’t remember how long) poured the mixture out then flushed the battery out with the water hose & refilled the battery with poured out contents & charged it!! Lead acid batteries are properly and correctly filled when the electrolyte (the water/ acid mix) is approximately 1/8th of an inch above the tops of the plates,
any higher causes voltage bleed out and liquid expansion out of the fill holes as in this case when it expands due to normal plate heating and over time only being (over)refilled with distilled water alone meaning its acid percentage drops, many a battery has been rendered useless by over filling thus causing boil off of the electrolyte
most battery failures and diminishing charge retention are a result of the plate faces phosphating up over time lowering their abilities to tranfer ions to each other through the electrolite, and sluffed off lead oxide dropping off the plates and congealing on the floor of the battery where they sludge up and basically it continually shorts itself out meaning even a high amperage charge wont budge it.
When a battery heats up under charging load it evaporates off the water....it loses barely any sulphuric acid - that mostly stays put...the bit that does however get out is what causes all that green and white shmoo on the battery connections
...that bubbling is actually highly explosive hydrogen gas which is being liberated from the H part of H2O(water) during the charging phase not as a result of epsom salts being added and was the reason you were coughing with stinging eyes,
for the good of your continued health NEVER be tempted to use any kind of naked flame anywhere around where you can smell that gas !
but if the cells do over heat significantly due to massively high charge currents the plates can warp badly and buckle against each other causing a dead short the length of the battery and then it really IS game over for that particular battery
the scam today is non servicable no fill batteries.........that way you cant service them and HAVE to junk them and buy another which pleases the manufacturers no end

i tried before in 5 batters and din't work
I’ve done 3 so far & only 1 didn’t do good & it’s the one in the video, the cells had collapsed, it doesn’t work if the cells have collapsed
Thank you for the speech, and Amen
Thanks for watching
Epsom Salt? How quaint! Everybody has used this before and results are always less than expected. I thought you were coming with something new.......
It is new to me!! And it works, I have 2 batteries that it has worked on, the one in the video didn’t work cause it had 2 cells collapsed together so I melted the lead down into fishing weights
@@hattcreekfarm shoulda recorded one of the successful ones lol idk why u said it worked at the end while its on the charger without load testing it or anything. sorry about the comments maybe turn them off...pray for them,
@@brad3933 don’t know till you try it!! My videos aren’t rehearsed their done live so whatever happens happens
Are you sure sulphuric acid is correct?
Was told the acid is stored in the cells so there’s no need to add more.
you just dump a bunch of salt in there?
No start with a table spoon full at a time to each hole then add more!!!
If you see no bubbles after a few add another spoon per hole
@@hattcreekfarm I'm about a week into trying to restore a 12v deep cycle battery. 1st day was reading 1.8 volts and had a few bubbles in one cell.
You can go to google type in how to desulfurization a battery or bring a old battery back to life using baking soda & see where that takes you!!

no followup video
It’s coming, I work doing several things so it’s hard to make videos preparing for hay season & work my regular job & do my hobbies!!
Grand pa taught me this epsom salt trick. I wish i could find a way to do this with sealed batteries, and agm. Thanks most of all for the bible verses. God bless sir.
You can prize the top off of maintenance free batteries with a screw driver or small pry bar what I’ve been told, just wear safety glasses & gloves & have a tube of silicone to reseal the top!! Might try this later & docs video

Why not use a funnel to svoid spillage.
Have you got one that small? I don’t!!! That’s why I used the spoon!!!
It’s not an automobile battery, the holes are lots smaller on these small batteries
I study to show thyself approved. I went behind the Vail, and baptized myself. I am in the many membered body of Christ. I don't go to church the Bible spelled them out. He had 7 churches, 5 he snuffed out because they are nothing other than the sinaguages of Satan. He had 2 he liked and those were Smerna and Philidelphia they entertained and became 1. Hope you don't think you flying away. Put the gospel armor on and in place. Serve the purpose we are here for. 1st taken is by deception from Satan claiming to be God. Yes we are living in the last days of the 6 year creation. Warning it's happening as you read this Truth.
GOD BLESS HIM HE IS TRYING..... l.m.a.offff.😇😇
So slow,,,,,,,
@@DennisRoberson-m3b the process is slow!! Anything with batteries & acid is slow so you don’t get it where it doesn’t belong!!!
