    It's crazy man... I was thinking of getting a flatiron to mess with and I thought "i wonder if that Knathan guy i recently subscribed to has seen them and if he hasn't, i wonder what he would do to one"... so I typed you in on youtube and BAM, you've done gone went and done one! Lol! Looks great man! I love the blade way better with that finish

      Awesome! A bugout or 940 would look good with that finish 4 sure. I have a microtech ultratech otf that has a factory finish called "apocalyptic" that looks similar. That's my most expensive knife and carry it everyday, but it's clipped to the top of my cowboy style boot and only pulled out to show it off or dig out a splinter... lol

    Awesome transformation! I like the wood best, but the blue is cool, too. The wood is more subtle, works well with the file work. Very sophisticated. I’ve watched enough of your vids to maybe try some small mods, adding a little jimping and texture to slick aluminum scales. I don’t expect it to be pretty, but to work better. We’ll see. Thanks for the videos!

    Tips on making frame lock less stiff and disassembly without stripping screws? Thanks

    • @KnathansKnives
      @KnathansKnives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Making a frame lock less stiff is a little tricky but if you bend the lock bar backwards(not too much though) just enough, you can set it to what you like.
      If a knife has screws that won't budge try putting it in hot water for a few minutes and that should loosen the loctite. Hope that helps!😁

      Honestly, Gerber knives are always difficult to take apart. I bought a doner Flatiron because I stripped out some hardware, really frustrating. A trick that sometimes works is if you put the knife in really hot water for a minute or two and then take it apart.🤔

    Also will loosening the pivot loosen my flatiron up?

    • @KnathansKnives
      @KnathansKnives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should but there is a sweet spot for every knife. I like to tighten the pivot screw and then slowly loosen it ever so slightly while testing the stiffness of the blade. I also make sure the knife is clean around the pivot before I set the pivot screw. Hope that helps!😁
