Ohh this is such a shallow understanding of the female gaze. Just because it’s a female audience doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a male gaze. It’s women objectifying and sexualising themselves and reminding and reinforcing this and celebrating this reinforcing male gaze. Celebrating and praising the woman for how successful they are to the male gaze. To see this, see what would happen if a woman didn’t shave and wore no makeup and comfortable clothing. Prioritising herself and her comfort… this would immediately get back lash from both men and women.
And if she took peak care of her health, then I would find her more physically attractive than the lady in this short. It is even better hidden beneath comfortable clothes because one would have to get to know them first.
She's also doing a great job displaying an example that femininity =/= deference. You can be a fierce, independent woman AND revel in being girly. You don't have to dress frumpy to be a feminist.
Is this for real lol... she's literally in three different playboy bunny leotards in this clip alone, in the bits that aren't the juno poses and bed cam outros. And no her audience being mostly female doesn't mean jack, all female pop stars' audiences are mostly female.
