    I've had my HC30 since April 5th, 2016. Your video helped to confirm my purchasing of it. I removed the top strap when new, and don't feel its necessary. Today (5/23/24) I received a replacement rubber bracket (I broke it) & headband (stretched from years of use). I've never used the turbo mode as I think high is more than adequate. This light is used almost everyday. The 1 lumen setting is great for entering a bedroom & not waking anyone. A rather late "Thank You" for your review.

    I've had this light since it came out and absolutely love it. I use it almost daily around the property and for work. I generally run it on the 2nd setting for working with my hands stuff but when walking around the full power is excellent and nice beam pattern. Battery seems to run for ever and it's crazy light weight. I've bought another already as a gift for dad.

    This also comes in neutral white. Much better at night since it won't wash out any colors.

    • @dannybeeh6332
      @dannybeeh6332 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neutral white is better for close up stuff as you can see colours better. But if you are using it for long range or to light up a large area than cool white provides more light for less power.

    Nice. I like that it can come apart and be used as a separate flashlight. Good review.

    I do like how thrunite light has a battery indicator light on the tap button, blue when on,red when needing charge an green good to go,not bad for either I like this one your reviewing as well,just thought you'd like these too.

    Loved right up to the time that the switch failed. Had it for 3 weeks and used it a lot under a house on a remodel. No problem with returning it. Just did not trust it not to fail again leaving me in the dark.

    Sweet .. FINALLY something NEW from the flashlight review world! I am excited for this lamp. This is definitely going on my list of MUST HAVES! Love the multi-function of this lamp! Only thing that would have kicked this out of the park is if it was mini usb rechargeable. Great review! AWESOME HEADLAMP! The night shots sold me!

      +Living Survival Just to give an update, I bought one and it's fantastic. I used it several evenings while doing repairs on my ATV and it was perfect on the low setting for sorting out wiring and other repairs. The headband is very comfortable and its so light I forgot it was on my head. I would recommend getting a second battery so you you don't get caught out if one dies. I have a few Nitecore 3400mAh batteries and they work well.

    GIVES ME TUNNEL VISION
    Hate the narrow beam
    Much better spread on the HC50 but not bright enough
    I need 2000 Lumens with a removeble diffuser or an MT-G2 emitter
    and it MUST BE Neutral White and NO HOTSPOT!
    Nitecore needs to make an MT-G2 version with one 18650 in front and one 18650 in back of the headband for perfect balance and longer runtimes than the Acebeam
    I like the nitecore cast body on some of their flashlights and that type of cooling would be great on a headlamp

    • @50CalibreAssHole
      @50CalibreAssHole 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dude Whatever
      and how about an RF remote control for the handlebars of my bike?
      It would be nice to have a smooth ramp up/down of the output once we have 2000 Lumens or more with a difuse neutral white beam for Video recording at night (1000 Lumens IS NOT ENOUGH!!!

    Thanks for the review, I want one real bad you have a great video on the power of this head lamp lights up the hole street awesome . I just ordered a B!#$K D23456D two hundred lumens more than enough, I would buy a Nitecore If I could have more -settings- 1 lumen and I think 70 was next and then 400 then a thousand when you In camp you only need about 20 to 40 lumens not 1 lumen and then the next setting at 70 lumens ,If It was more adjustable I would buy one now ,when you need brightness this Is the one , It needs to be more adjustable for the average user .............

    I have a bushnell 225 Trkr I think. It takes 3 triple A batteries, but it only costs $24. I don't think that's too bad. But this is one of the nicest headlamp/flashlight combos I have seen. What camera do you use to record? I've been noticing some 60fps lately, it looks good! Take care buddy!

    Very similiar design as Zebralight or ArmyTek.
    There is also Lumonite Compass headlamp which is based of ArmyTek Wizard and that has been modified, very similiar to this Nitecore but with diffusor glass. The difference on the Lumonite Compass is that all the extra light modes (Strobe, S.O.S, beacon) have been removed.

    Living Survival thank you.. I have two hs-30s now you want a bright headlamp this Is the one, man Is It bright ,and -light- on the head you don't even need that upper strap on top of your head , I'm amazed at how bright this headlamp Is just awesome, my only complaint Is the first setting Is one lumen how stupid Is that Its -useless- It should have been 5 or 10 lumens you have to be careful putting It away, because after you use the higher setting your eyes really cant even see one lumen , you think you have turned It off . This light Is the brightest headlamp I love It Its not a real narrow beam but It reaches out Its like compared to my other headlamps. All the setting are great except 1 lumen setting I hope they fix that soon on the next model I guess, I have a lot of headlamps you know the three best ones , you wont want to use any after you get this headlamp , 1000 lumens In this headlamp Is awesome , I shined It across the street there was a cat with Its eyes glowing , great for spotting animals and staying out of trouble from a distance, great trail headlamp to use this hunting season ...Way to go Nitecore

    Just kinda reminds me of the Thrunite Th 10. Do you like the Nitecore better? I like the Thrunite. What makes this one so much better Ben?

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Freddie Dorris the TH10 is much heavier at 4.7oz without battery and not as bright (only 750 lumens). Plus the TH10 is much clunkier for lack of a better word and all over the place when on your head. Although I have several ThruNite lights that I like, Nitecore's modes and programming is simply the best IMO.

    ZebraLight has had this design for YEARS, and still does it better. More modes, more models, more options, same basic concept.

      +Nathan Schmoekel I've seen those but never played with one. I will see what I can do about getting one. Thanks for the comment Nathan.

      I recommend the frosted lens, and the "high CRI" LED bulbs. Very useful light output, with a mellow color tone and "true color" viewing. A real pleasure in the dark compared to harsh overly bright blueish LED lights.

      +Nathan Schmoekel you beat me to it! Zebralight is lighter, has more modes and it seems like this light basically copied the design of the H600. I use my H600 on mountain bike rides and it's my EDC light I carry with me everywhere. I use the pocket clip offered by zebralight for other lights they offer.

      Ride Alongside well I have owned the h600 zebralight for about 4 years now..great light besides the fact that I had to send it in for repairs 3 TIMES!!!. first time light just stop working second time light would not stay at the higher modes of 700 lumens for more than a couple seconds. .current limiter issue. Third time light would flash between modes on its own..each time I sent it off took 3 months to receive the light back...zebra light send their lights to China for repair ..I own the nitecore tm26 and two hc50 ..beat them up good lights still working never had to send them off for repairs. Nitecore is better hands down.

      +django freeman wow man, that's some serious bummer luck, sorry to hear that.
      I've had my two ZebraLight headlamps for two years, a cr123, and a AA both with frosted lenses... zero issues so far. One even went through the laundry once! Lol

    Armytek Tiara A1 Pro is my favorite. Pretty much like this, but it takes AA-batteries (NiMH) or 14500 Li-Ion. The same Cree XM-L U2 LED. 6 power modes (0.1, 2, 12, 85, 250, 550 lumen) and strobe/SOS. Very well regulated, 120 degree diffusor lens, not much of a hot spot...so very good as a short range (max 40 metres) work light. Will work 5hr (tested) with the best AA NiMH (like eneloop pro) at 85 lumen...which is plenty. Has a magnet and pocket clip. Water proof and bomb proof single piece aluminium. th-cam.com/video/9tHxXM3loCg/w-d-xo.html

      @livingsurvival  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ari Lehtiniemi do you think the eneloop pros are better than the regulars?

    • @apuuvah
      @apuuvah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Supposedly they have like 400mAh more (it says 2400mAh might have closer to 2600mAh) , but they have 500 cycles whereas the regulars have 1000 cycles. This is what I have read. And...supposedly the new Fujitsu NiMH that look quite a bit like eneloop pros come from the same factory in Japan and are just as good...

      yeah, the HC30 had my attention and still does but the Fenix lamp seems like it might be better, i will have to look at the runtimes, neat that you can remove that nitecore and hold it but i tend to lose things.

  • @MrNorthstar50

    That light is not close to 1000 lumens you need to see a real 1000 lumen light then you will see the difference.

    • @jasonostler9221
      @jasonostler9221 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +MrNorthstar50 This headlamp has a flood beam reflector which spreads the light out more widely. That may be why you don't think it's 1000 lumens. I own the Nitecore P12 and have measured the light output using a lux meter and Nitecore's output ratings are spot on. This headlamp uses the same 18650 battery, LED, and driver as the P12 so i'm thinking it's right on the 1000 lumen mark.
