Great on gas, got mine with 65K and now getting close to 100K soon and only part I had to replace was a driver side wheel bearing. zero issues at all with this car and excellent gas mileage. unlike the haters I find the center gauges neat.
Can confirm. My '07 Cobalt Coupe is pushing 150k with nothing but normal preventative maintenance. These are crazy reliable cars and despite the somewhat boring look can be really fun to drive!
My cousin has one of these, they bought it brand new back in 2007 and it almost has 200,000km's on it and they've had no major issues with the car at all and it still runs and drives great! Surprising something so boring is so reliable.. Everytime I'm in it I feel like I should be able to turn the 'gauge pod' lol
yeah. I have the same car pushing 250,xxx miles here soon. only major thing we've done to it is replace the engine because when my mom owned it she cubed it knocking a hole in the oil pan. cx the trooper of a car drove a little more then a hour and a half before the engine blew up. But she made it from point A to B with no oil so it's definitely a trooper of a car
Update* her car has some minor issues, the rear left door is off the hinges and will not open or close properly, and the only power window that goes up and down is the passenger side. otherwise still runs and drives fine
We had a 2003 Ion with 230,000 miles it never used oil and ran like it was new. rust free car. On a long trip we got 45.6 MPG. We should never traded it in for another car. Big mistake.
True! My Grandpa used to have an L-Series wagon and it ran 253,000 miles before the odometer stopped working, and then he kept driving it for another 2 or 3 years.
Nice find dude. I gotta 07 saturn ion 2 just like that except it's dark blue and don't have that spoiler. almost 240,xxx but runs like a champ. never had a major issue and it runs like a dream. fantastic cars they are. and with there dent resistant side panels that devoted a whole commercial to 😃
Even know these cars aren't that good looking, I'd take it over its chevy / pontiac platform any day! ( because of the plastic lol ) my cousin has an '03 coupe with 250k, I'm sure it's been through pure hell too. So it's safe to say these cars run forever!
Had a green one just like it. Traded it in for a new Chevy Malibu 2010. The Ion was pretty but after the 3 year mark the steering wheel starting locking on me. It was dangerous as hell. The dealership told me that year model is known to have that problem. Saturn went out of business and so did their beautiful cars.
Still driving the same dark blue 5 speed. Have 48 grand on it , still good condition. Bought it in 2009 two years old. Getting to the point some ask me about the car now. Might as well keep it at this point. A cheap new car is about 25 grand now. Too much.
I don't know what the hell the makers of Saturn were thinking by putting the dashboard gauges in the center instead of putting them in front of the driver's seat like most other cars do.
+Matthew Rivera personally I like it. it gives a more unique experience and actually keeps it less distracting and your full view is of the road. no one complained about it on the Toyota Echo but apparently it's more common to knock Saturn on everything.
Exactly. But the haters fail to see that. It's not like you have to take your eyes off the road to view it. Personally, I think the ION, Aura, and such were the better of Saturn. The older ones that get all the love are foreign car wannabes but with ugly front ends, and plasticy interiors with minimal features, and unreliable engines. Theres tons of SL series in junkyards with barely 100K on their odometers. One has tons of oil bottles in the trunk. Most SL series shat out valve guides and became two strokes. Had the unfortunate luck to be behind one at a stoplight and a few miles afterwards. He actually seemed oblivious to the large blue cloud behind him and ended up taking it to a car wash. He should have been concerned more with how much oil he lost than how clean the car was
Grant Schneider your dumb their are people out here busting their ass to get a car and you got one for free and you were really worried about what people thought of it sounds to me like your the joke so ungrateful

That thing is sooo clean for the age. 98% of these are completely trashed, great find!
It really is! It's definitely rare to find one in this good of condition.
Lol no its not
Mines in perfect condition
Nice presentation. But that clicking throughout the whole thing bugged me though.
Wow! I have personally never seen an Ion that well maintained.
Neither have I! A rare find for sure!
+Maxxcarz my mom drives one in excellent condition
brorowcarwiz The 2007 Ion I drive currently has 54,000 miles, but it's definitely not that well maintained. Mine has a couple rips and stains.
come to California
10:10 Those power windows are snappy!
Yep!
I have a 2004 Saturn Ion sedan with a 2.2 ecotec automatic with 220,000 miles and still runs strong.
Awesome! They are long lasting vehicles for sure.
Can confirm. My '07 Cobalt Coupe is pushing 150k with nothing but normal preventative maintenance. These are crazy reliable cars and despite the somewhat boring look can be really fun to drive!
just got a grey one in top notch condition. so amazing on gad

If you actually take out all of the steering defect and ignition switch defect, this really is a good small car.
True! My Grandpa used to have an L-Series wagon and it ran 253,000 miles before the odometer stopped working, and then he kept driving it for another 2 or 3 years.
This just proves how nice you can keep a car if you just take care of it
The 2003-2006 ions with the ecotec 2.2 have 140 hp but the 2007 ecotec 2.2 has 145 and the ion 3 had a optional ecotec 2.4 VVT I4
Alex0695 would u recommend it for purchase?

I own a 2004 ION. I love my car and it runs nicely. No issues and most importantly no car payments
2006 saturn wont start after stander transmission as been repaired
Must have been a granny car! And it's had its ignition switch done which is good to know!
I think it was! And it's nice to have the new ignition for sure.
Even know these cars aren't that good looking, I'd take it over its chevy / pontiac platform any day! ( because of the plastic lol ) my cousin has an '03 coupe with 250k, I'm sure it's been through pure hell too. So it's safe to say these cars run forever!
Most of the ION's I have seen have high miles and are in rough shape. It's not everyday you come across one as nice as this!
+BlakesCars2 is your cousins ion coupe a automatic?
no its the 5 speed
Oh ok mine is a automatic

What year was your ion Franz?
That sir, is how everyone should start and turn on their vehicles
Still driving the same dark blue 5 speed. Have 48 grand on it , still good condition. Bought it in 2009 two years old. Getting to the point some ask me about the car now. Might as well keep it at this point. A cheap new car is about 25 grand now. Too much.
Cypress Green. This car has the ion 3 rims which are 16s where as the ion 2 optional alloy wheels are the same but there 15s
My mother had one of these cars back in 2011 but it was a different Saturn it was a Saturn Vue
I loved how that engine got me 40mpg.
Naah, really?
You never speaked about the battery cuz it in the trunk next to the spare tire
I have one. The maroon. I love it .
I have the Maroon as well
Mine is nowhere near this clean. Found this video cause I wanted to see what mine is supposed to look like 😂
is this still available?
I have a burgundy 07 Ion 2 but it doesnt have alloy wheels or a spoiler.
What is with the background clicking?
Proabably his cameras mechanical zoom adjusting
He is grinding his teeth...lol
This car received a poor rating in the IIHS side crash test even when tested with curtain airbags.
chris the realiest !
Est il dispo
Very nice!
For sure!
Damn that's not a lot of leg room in the back
Does it have heated seats
This is crazy because my name is Eli too
No aux input ?
It does I own one
I just got one nice car, good on gas
Congrats! They are very fuel efficient!
I have an ion in the same color but not with the same options
I don't know what the hell the makers of Saturn were thinking by putting the dashboard gauges in the center instead of putting them in front of the driver's seat like most other cars do.

I own an ION 3 and I don't get why people everywhere hate on it. It's a great car
It's a amazing car with a unique characteristic for that. it's easier to read because your steering wheel isn't obscuring it
Exactly. But the haters fail to see that. It's not like you have to take your eyes off the road to view it.

I love having it in the center. I'm short and it keeps me from having to look over or under the steering wheel.
Interior looks like a toyota echo
Saturn ion? More like saturn Fryon
My parents bought me one of these back in the day, you shouldve heard the jokes they were cracking at school the next day. This car is a joke
Maybe you didn't have any friends in the day at school.
This car ain't no joke it's ur self esteem that joke..U know how to 👗 a car up.It wouldn't be a joke
Grant Schneider your dumb their are people out here busting their ass to get a car and you got one for free and you were really worried about what people thought of it sounds to me like your the joke so ungrateful
Ayanna Sorrells swear 💯
