  • A few weeks ago, I published a video titled "You Have a TINY Book in You. Write It." My story resonated with many people. Some viewers asked me specific questions too. This video is to answer those questions. Hope this helps!

*bursts out laughing at the "I tried doing the formatting myself"* Reedsy is a great professional formatting tool that does it automatically. This is the perfect video for me right now as I am working on a video series that summarises my experience writing a novella in 7 days and so this is something I am thinking about at the moment. Thank you for providing this media. Blessing!

I am a book publishing coach and help writers self-publish their books worldwide on Amazon, Apple, Kobo, Google Play, etc. Resizing a PDF using online tools may bring a file to KDP paperback page size but it is still not considered as properly formatted because margins will not be okay. The source file must have the proper mirror margins, headers, footers, bleed, etc., for the final paperback pdf to look professional.

@@bv2999 I use MS-Word. This is enough for most books with text and some images. Only complicated books with complex image layouts are difficult.

Your comment on writing apps being tools (and the complicated relationship we have with our tools) reminded me of Wendell Berry's essay "Why I Am Not Going to Buy a Computer". I don't take it as gospel (I'm writing this comment on a computer right now) but it raised some very interesting points. Thanks for the video! Enjoying following along!

😂😂I have just re-watched the scene from Malena where the Father is slapping the kid for ruining his favorite pants, and I couldn't stop laughing at the nonchalant style and fluid movement of those slaps (Great meme art from the actor). Today, Fabio speaks about punching the laptop, the publisher, and himself, in the face. So now I'm starting to think that maybe we're dealing with some kind of an Italian sport here 😄

Another wonder video! One small aspect I wanted to highlight when it comes to tools. I always wanted to write popular songs and since I play "piano", in my personal journey, I eventually gravitated to the idea that I needed the synthesizers that professional studio use before my music would sound good. I am a child of the 70s, 80s, and 90s and so I believed that a Prophet-5 or an OB-Xa ($5000 synthesizers at the time) would somehow lift my songs onto the radio. Fast forward 30 years - I finally get those synths via eBay and Reverb ... and guess what, my song writing is still terrible! LOL. So, I've recently taken a step back and decided to sit down, limit myself to the basic of instruments, and figure out how to write "songs" ... irrespective of the gear. So, very much like you say in your response to a post here ... "Tools without ideas (i.e. the content of your brain) are useless."

Hi I just started writing again. I started writing since I was 8 years of age. I write everything I cannot express. Where I come from you cannot answers or put your opinion towards elders when they tellung you off. My frustration goes on my papers underneath coconut tree😊. My questions I have written a cat stories, funny you mentioned on one of your videos about cats. But my cat stories are not tale. It's base on true events in my life and my connections with them. It's not tale. Sad but the moral, purpose and how it will help others. Some people probably be shocked about it. So I was thinking to do like anthology tiny book. But each of cat stories do have connection to the next they all stories with me in different occasions and different cats abd stages of my life. So what format would you suggest? I meant to see your videos because in my head I'm not quiet sure since it's gonna be my first publishing plan. I think you will be interested to know my story with cats it's not ordinary story nor tell tell. It's real and to these date when I think about it the events start playing in my head like adverts.
