Why do we have repeat questions and answers that are already covered? Why not answer a margin question that is quite critical, nothing specific just a ballpark
I think he answered your question first, he said that margins will be upside down at the beginning and then they expect them to flip with time. it's probably not practical to give estimates right now.
Hyliion obviously has the best solution, not only class 8, but seaborne shipping and rail freight as well. The Achillies heel in the wheel is supply chain. They're entirely reliant on OEM's for product. I mean just getting 200 trucks from Peterbilt is a monumental challenge. I say; Build your own assembly line from the wheels up. You have the powertrain and the software. You have a good relationship with Meritor for the E-Axels. (And if Cummins won't play ball on the Meritor side, make your own axels) The rest of the truck isn't rocket science. If you build them, they will sell! Break the shackles and fire up an assembly line. Don't be a guppy, be the ALPHA ORCA. Until then, you're a freakin' hostage to bigger fish that surely don't want you to succeed. Disrupt the status quo. Go Go Go!
They would but the only small problem is we don’t have $20B to do manufacturing. I think this industry is ready for new technology disruption, and the OEMs know it too. They should be well aware of what happened to Nokia. Get with the program or be history.
I DON'T want Hyliion to be heavily invested into making one type of vehicle. 'DON'T think of Hyliion as Semi Truck manufacturer. They are a Powertrain systems company that will go into all types of vehicles and Hyliion is moving towards becoming a worldwide metered electrical Utilities provider company with Karno.
No... It has to show absolutely no progress or growth to be delisted.. although the progress is on a crawl. We're still in a good position as far as cash burn. I'm not a financial advisor, Im just a researcher oon good companies and a long-term investor of this company..... If that helps 💚🤝🏾
Musk is actually notorious for missing deadlines - he does a good job of covering up with side show distractions, but ultimately delivering on promises at his own pace. Hyliion's challenge is the lack of available rolling chassis - but it sounds like they'd face the same challenges (logistics and lack of skilled labor) even if they BYOTs (Built Your Own Tractors). While they wait for the Peterbilt chassis - maybe they could start working on putting together a net-negative Karno charging station prototype for both trucks and passenger BEVs (even if the generator isn't market-ready yet). The equivalent of Elon's Hyperloop, only a hyper-efficient roadside charging station could actually be doable in short-order. On that front, it probably wouldn't take much to partner with some LENR startup to test alternative industrial heat sources to power the upcoming generators. Not exactly a startup, but MHI is investing in systems that transmutates elements in exchange for HEAT.
