The Duke show was much better when it was filmed in Chelsea in NYC than in Hollywood . I guess the ghosts of Sgt. Bilko and Car 54 did not make the trip out to California .
I just started watching this last week for the first time. For the most, I like; this was the 2d episode of the series I've had to delete. THIS was the first one because it was really boring. The other one was the one with the witchcraft in it (then again, I thumbs down those episodes on ALL of these family sitcoms)
The idea for the show was originally proposed for Ginger Rogers. I believe they even shot a pilot but Ginger didn't like it or it just didn't work out. By the way Africa is not a country but a continent.

So stereotypical on Africa. She mentioned it’s a country when it’s a continent comprised of fifty four countries. The masks, bongo drums, we’re absolutely disgusting and untrue. Before the 1885 European Scramble for Africa it was a continent comprised of vast, organized kingdoms. Christianity was already there as Ethiopia was the second Christian kingdom. Remember, the savior lived in Africa (Egypt) but never set foot in Europe.
