My only complaint is this was much too short. I’m super impressed with Scott in this one… and his high parts after Mitch comes in high just adds something crazy good.
Even with the instruments, it was impossible to hide who they were. Incredible!
I think you would enjoy their live unmasked version of this from the TV show that others have talked about. You can SEE their energy and their emotion and….it’s live, so….👏🏻🔥🥰

That song was so good!! 🔥 Scott really shows his range and just how fantastic he is. We tend to forget how awesome his voice is. Mitch definitely brought his gloves for slapping in this one. I got slapped a couple of times...
Love their voices with music. Too bad due to the show, the song can only be a certain length, we got robbed on a longer song. Needs to be 3 minutes longer. Just saying...
Anyway, very proud of them on the journey on The Masked Singer. They are the winners in my book.

This is one of most jam-packed arrangements I've heard them do. The wall of sound was the whole last half of the song. Almost overwhelming to listen. In the best way possible!
Not sure if you are aware, they did this on the masked singer. They were the California rolls. All their performances on the masked singer were great. This is the best reaction I’ve seen to this so far. Always enjoy your analysis.
And they should have won! But, the rumor is they couldn't continue the show cause they had to get started on their tour coming up! They are so perfect though!
They did this and several other songs for a TV show, The Masked Singer where competitors sing in a masked costume and people make guesses as to who's behind the mask. I think 10 or more begin and every week one gets eliminated and unmasked. PTX as the California Rolls ( sushi rolls) made it to the semi-finals and were voted off. They had sung this cover the week before and did it again after being unmasked. All us pentaholics knew the first week who those Cali Rolls were the moment they began singing. We all know Scott's voice too well!! There are videos to watch of their songs in the show if you want to watch any. They also did Paparazzi ( Lady Gaga cover) for the show.
I'm hoping they do another arrangement of the song that's longer ( and the same with Paparazzi) and make official videos of them. The reason the songs are so short was because of the rules of the show.
Also, I enjoyed the unmasked version of this. You should check that out as well.

Loved your reaction. All of the songs they did on the show are on hd masked singers you tube page. They did creep again after the unvailing and you could really see Mitch do his thing, He was incrèible as they all were. They judges faces were phenomenal. They were in shock during every song.
Recommend their original, Prayers For This World.
Try to find to post-unmasking live version. Mitch's face as he goes up for the high notes - he's enjoying himself immensely as he knocks it out of the park.

I have been listening to your channel for quite a while now. I've seen the sun mail for creep coming up everywhere but I wanted to listen to it from somebody's blind reaction. And it's had to be a special reactor and it was you.
That raspy growl from Scott was amazing. To see this new side of his vocal abilities is stunning. I hope we hear more of it! Mitch... He kicked that part right in the a$$. Gorgeous. And it's live!!! 😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤

Here are a few songs I would recommend you listen to if you haven't yet done. " Dance of the Sugar Plumb Fairy" (they won a Grammy award for this one) " Carol of the Bells" notice the breath control. "Can't Help Falling In Love" The harmonies on this are Epic. " Mary Did You Know" the setting was really great for the echoes and sound mixing. "Amazing Grace " and The Prayer" if these don't make you cry you need to check your pulse. These in my opinion are FABULOUSE !!!!

I love this they did so well on the masked singer but they were robbed of a win also some people didn't notice this was released on pentatonix inc 2023 instead of rca records

On The Masked Singer, they really had no choice but to use instrumentation. They tried to be incognito and would have been too recognizable going acapella since all other contestants used instruments. Many people already had recognized them early on anyway. They usually do their own percussion, but I think it was a bit startling to hear how great they sound with all the extra sounds they never used before. Their arrangement was killer. Their harmonies were still unbelievable. Hopefully they will lengthen and record it as a video. I think they are taking this song and possibly others from the show on tour.

If you haven't you should check out their start in the Sing Off. There's a few performances there where Scott gets that nice raspy tone you were talking about and it's just always awesome to go back and see their roots and their start!

Adam, if you've never heard Scott's vocal fry before then you didn't listen to their SingOff journey. Listen to performance 12 (Dog Days Are Over). Scott's voice definitely lends itself to rock n roll. Performance 7, I believe, was Born to Be Wild, which was also "rock" from Pentatonix back in their baby days, when they were green and learning to find their sound and put it all together.
Yeah..and they only got 3rd place in the Masked Singer 🙄 IYou can tell the public didn't get to vote!

Do yourself a favor and look up the California rolls. It will give you all the songs they sang on the Masked Singer and this one twice.
This is certainly different from the original! The mid-part of it gives me some sort of weird Bohemian Rhapsody-vibes. But it's interesting, and I kinda like it. :D
Since you keep mentioning loving rock and metal, I thought I'd ask if you've ever heard Palaye Royale? Quite a bit different from this, but I think you'd like it. They pretty much don't have a bad track (in my opinion), but Broken, No Love In LA, Punching Bag and Oblivion seems to be popular. ;)

Unfortunately using footage from reality tv shows gets your videos blocked very quickly, especially if you don’t stop them through the performance

I'm in LOVE with Pentatonix for the past 7 years, and I liked this version, but honestly, after hearing Haley Reinhart's version...nobody, NOBODY matches that version !!!!!!!

Because musicians also write songs from their experience of pain and grief. What you deem ‘pathetic’ is relatable to many other people out there
