You guys are well on your way to being FoMoCo converts. Won't be long before you build the second Quonset for the blue oval division of Sally's Speed Shop. 😜
Except for the outside sheet metal, you can use almost everything from the 68. Brakes for dual master conversion, wiring, suspension parts, windshield is the same. I suggest using a 69 gas tank which holds 20 gallons instead of 16.
Due to its rarity...so help me...I like the Granada the best. An object lesson, that Granada! "Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable." 🤣 Lovely engines! I enjoy watching you folks getting engines to run. With TWO shop dogs, it'll be more than TWICE the fun! Aloha!
FYI pull the distributer cap and bump the starter. Look down on the cam gear, should be one spot that is a different color tooth on the gear. That should be the timing mark, install the distrubuter and then adjust timing with the cap. Those 289's like about 12 to 15 degrees of timing.😉 That is where you need to line up with the distributer. And Don't get it twisted, Tom's Refurb, he has two Mustangs. Masutangu is the Civic swapped chassis and he also has a '65 coupe named Noise Complaint and it does run a small block Ford. So I forgive him with the civic swap and it is decently fast😁
Yeah timing is wrong, carby is too big need 400 to 600 cfm and fix the headers leaking and vac leaks. Poor thing, its a Windsor if it rotates it will RUN
I seen a cool car at the car show a few years ago and it was really a decent looking car it was a 72 mercury comet and it was painted twilight ford black and the drivetrain was a 85 Ford Cobra mustang 351 minus the 4spd because they left the comet a automatic transmission car, and it had like the 2000's ish 17 inch bullit limited edition mustang wheels and the 85 mustang cobra dash and front seats were in the comet it was definitely different and they claimed the 351 w was about 450hp over the stock 150hp it had..
$500.. $500 can't even get you a burnt out car with no engine, trans, or title in California these days.. Seriously some dude just sold a 1963 Galaxie Wagon that had no engine, title or trans and had been burnt in a wildfire and the crispy interior was still in it (the smell will never go away) for $3k!!!!!!! and it ACTUALLY SOLD! People have gone completely insane out here. I swear the only way I could afford an old car is to leave the state, but then all the money I'd save would go into gas to get it back here. Out of those, the 68 would be the one I'd be interested in.. and I'd build a 410 for it and put a 5 speed behind it just like Steve McQueen did to the one from Bullit. (yeah I know that was a fastback) OMFG the XJ Cherokee in the background.. we had a 93 the same color until I was 17-18, bought it brand new and picked it up from a Mazda dealership in Eugene Oregon while we were up there at my grandpa's house before heading to Mississippi after we got back from Guam. (Air Force) The scary part is it was that same color, the old 4.0L 5 speed, you could actually easily rob that engine and trans out and throw them in one of your AMC's. Well that 66 has the new roof for the 65.. or you can buy every panel to build that car back up and it'd be worth the effort.. If I had the tools I'd do it but I don't, I also have issues bending these days. It'd be a good project to reach out to AMD or Dynacorn to get panels for it. (hell Dynacorn reproduces the entire body) BTW remember VIN swapping is a federal crime, you can't even remove it from your car to paint it and then reinstall it.. that is illegal, VINs have to stay permanently attached to the car for its life, if they are removed they must be destroyed and a replacement VIN ordered and affixed by the cops or a licensed mechanic or something.. that part I'm grey on.
@@OldTimeRevival I remember just 6 years ago when I sold my 1970 Mustang Grande for $1500 with a non-working trans... I could've gotten $6k for it now!
What is a good upgrade from a performer 289 on a 289 with this cam lift .475/.475 duration @ .50: 221/221 centerline 106: I also have long tube headers 2.5 exhaust. Holley 600 cfm carb. Unfortunately I have mostly stock heads they have had bigger valves but my dad doesn’t remember what size they were.
@@OldTimeRevival it has been done before with Jacob and the sivrce truck it was 11 days until power tour and there was no front clip door and it wasn't wired at all
Yes, they are. I had heard that too. That's part of the reason I brought it home. Also, the 302 and transmission and any other parts I could use. Thanks for watching. Tim Davis, Sally's Speed Shop

Can't wait to see more Mustang Content!
Gonna need the Sally's speed shop truck to keep him going on powertour.

Well it turns out Tim's junky engine idea wasn't a bad one after all.. I think you owe him an apology Jacob 😂😂
Agreed! 😂
Still remains to be proven true but, it’s looking better! 😅
My last hot rod before I joined the Army was a ‘76 Granada with a 325 hp 351w, that’s in my profile pic, gotta soft spot for those rust buckets.
Yours looks great! The two door models fixed up could be made to look nice. Thanks for watching!

Good Job Guys 👍
It will be a beautiful Mustang fastback when you get done too!!
That's the plan!
Another great video guys 👍👍

great video, If only there was a way to see you drop a hemi in the Hornay.
The Granada front disks and rear end are worth swapping to one of the mustangs

We got it for the front disc brakes, engine and transmission. Beyond that, it's pretty bad.

No! Definitely not! 😂

Very cool. But none of those cars will sell for what you're imagining in the current economy.
You’d be surprised what they’re going for
Doesn't matter. I get to drive a '65 Mustang Fastback!
So, what's up with the teal XJ?

Cool it's like the good old days those prices are awesome that's like in the 70s cool man
