ICT actually livestreamed real trades 5 months after this video!! Unfortunately for him, he traded like he usually does... th-cam.com/video/qbA54WkBBs4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MXL74duSl9db86mY
This video isn’t up to interpretation; it’s all facts with sources to all evidence. He’s a fraud by definition of the word, and 30:26 for those saying the concepts work. 8:02 proving ICT uses atrociously flawed backtesting to "prove" that something works.
This video proves that all of these concepts don’t work *on their own*, and the second half shows you how to learn the discretion that makes anything “work”: th-cam.com/video/994Rv9UXi9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BE-2mT2MK2BvISVd
That video is as helpful as I can possibly be.
I sell nothing and am 100% transparent, livestreaming every trading session on my second channel.
No, I didn’t get paid by someone to make this video… and it would be illegal for me to lie about that. Keep on believing conspiracy theories to avoid dealing with reality if you want to though. I’ll be over here in the section of people who don’t get upset at facts.

I'm a long time viewer of your channel and I love your psychology videos. However I am an "ICT" or "SMC" trader and they do work.
I do agree with most of your points in this video but I do want to say most of ICT concepts do work. But he has so many that it's like shooting fish in a barrel, you'll eventually hit one. Some concepts are better than others.
The reason why I think ICT concepts work is because ICT concepts are just renamed "retail" concepts.
      Orderblocks=redefined supply and demand
      Breaker blocks= breakout and retest
Fvg= rebalancing of the market (similar how opening gaps close first taught to me by Tom Dante)
Turtle soups= stop runs ( SFP pattern from Tom Dante)
      ICT 2022 model/ATM model/almost all his models= simplified wykoff.
But most of his concepts aren't as high probability than others ( as you've demonstrated)
ICT is a scammer in the way he's telling everyone he created all of this. However putting a detailed course ( no matter how long his rambles it are) on TH-cam for free is something that helped a lot of people who can't afford a course and it's the same as any other content creator on TH-cam making money for a living (even though he's a dick about it)
However I recommend some of his students courses who has weeded out the low probability concepts and just teach the high probability concepts.
(Commented on an alt yt account to avoid the toxic ICT cult)

@@slamurai8080 Yes they are liars and ICT encouraged them to start their own mentorships and selling services incentivizing them to lie to make money selling signals and education.
And as far as your statement of back testing you didn't pay attention to the video section he discussed why backtests mean nothing.
The question back to you is have you figured out why it doesn't work on the right side of the chart but only on the left? When you figure that out perhaps then you'll understand.
But you'll likely be even more broke than you already are by that point.
I hope you wake up sooner rather than later for your own good.

So here's what I got from this video:
    1. ICT's Concepts are basic concepts just rebranded so technically they still work
    2. Only concepts won't get you profitable
    3. Learning his concepts isn't a bad thing as long as you don't worship him or believe that his concepts are superior to S&R or S&D
    4. ICT overall is a liar
Overall, ICT's Order Blocks are just basic S&D Zones, correct me if I'm wrong.
Currently I am learning his concepts, but I see the correlation between S&R or S&D and his concepts. (for example the bottom of a trendline matches perfectly his bullish fvg)
I believe that people should learn what makes sense to them. Some people resonate better with S&R (i just couldn't) and some with SMC. We all basically learn the same thing. Price action.

      Pretty much on point 🤣
His so called order blocks (not really blocks of orders, nor sweeps, nor large orders) are just support and resistance zones, that the fvg (aka gap, but not always thin prints) just extends, therefore reducing the possibility of being wrong 😂. Liquidity is indeed liquidity and you can either use volume profile (less exact) or bookmap (to the tick) to spot where it is.
I, however, would be careful of his Enigma mumbojumbo stuff, as this is borderline mental (as in mentally unhealthy person).
Last word of advice: no need to learn tons of concepts, master one. Find a zone, find a trigger and master this.

Trading is YOU Vs YOU. Like you said profitability comes from yourself.
I am a trader that uses his concepts, mainly from 2022 mentorship on youtube and I thought I found "the holy grail" because at that time I'm just 4 months into trading for real. Tried his concepts with live account and I blow it many times. But, I stick with it because it looks to me his "concept"(don't if it is his) is the easiest to look for precision in the chart on where to enter and exit trade. Anyway, many months now and still battling with consotency but better. The concept didn't improve my trading, it was myself.
Now, about Michael himself, all I know is form mentorship 2022 and his twitter account. I am grateful I found his concept, but man I could never listen to his twitter space. It's just wasn't for me because I felt this guy is a bit weird. I never knew he claimed he created the Algo. Also, his new follower will get brainwashed thinking that the market is "not random". The market is random and submiting to it will be better for trading psychology.
Anyway, that's my experience with ICT and his concepts. Your right about it's just the same as any other method out there.

Hi Iman, found your video entertaining :) as an auction market theory trader i use tools such footprint charts, market profiles and i trade on the dom. They are the tools used to execute trades at the majority of trading desks be it an hedge fund, prop house or whatever institutional entity to optimize execution efficiency. And its important to separate portfolio management departments from execution desks. I never understood all this drama of the ICT cult abouth the magic algorithm, the smart money, while the tools used are right in front of their noses. They got "liquidity" in their mouths and charts and ignore the depth of market (which shows liquidity and the relation between passive and agressive participants, and actually shows hft machines acivity which is perfectly recognizable). I’ve been affiliated with online trading communities for years and there seems to be a few different camps. You have gurus and their followers, successful traders and genuine people who are up and coming.
The really mind blowing thing is that the gurus have managed to convince their followers that their own (the guru’s) trading performance and profitability doesn’t matter. To me, that is the craziest thing and it’s amazing that their followers will openly admit to not seeing any track record while defending them vehemently. I’ve seen this pattern with countless gurus over the years.

I remember when starting out in trading, that phase where you're researching the whole internet, and of course stumbled into ICT, since _usually_ the biggest channels are the worst (they live off YT, and they're specialized to reach out the most people possible, that's their product, not their trading) but they're the first ones you learn about. Fortunately, I only wasted a couple days. I remember a video of him saying, literally, "I love wasting other people's time". My jaw dropped. That plus the long videos where he kept whispering stupidly, like he was keeping some sort of secret that would make you millions while basically never getting anywhere were enough to quickly dismiss him as a fraud.

The raw emotionality and the slick manipulating led me towards that particular disorder but I can see why Iman was drawn to bipolar, definitely some sort of mood disorder. There are honest and good hearted people with bipolar and personality disorder but ICT seems very obvious self aware of what he's doing.

Compared to you and Isaac, I'm untrained but I like to watch "traders" perform live and was interested to watch ICT livestream. There was a multitude of excuses why he wouldn't enter trades in the market each time and I was shocked as ICT simply analysed moves which had taken place an hour previous, i.e. LHS of the chart, and almost completely ignored the 'hard right edge'. So, I agree with you; ICT is very self aware of what he's doing. I believe Isaac brought up bipolar because ICT used it when talking about himself.

    • @ImanTrading
      @ImanTrading  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

The reason I didn't bring up borderline or antisocial personality disorder (even though I wanted to) was because it would only be a guess. He admits to having BPD (which I included in the video in that audio clip), so that was the framework I used to try and rationalize his delusions and lies. An absurd amount of time went into making sure that anything in the video could be tied directly to a tweet or quote, because I had to be sure that not a single thing could be refuted in the video. If I would've made even a single tiny mistake, it would've been the main focus and ICT would've used it as a way to dismiss every other point (by only focusing on that and nothing else). Narcissistic personality disorder is a good fit too. I can't remember if I directly mentioned that or not, but yeah. I had to be careful, but I agree with you 100%. He seems to use bipolar disorder as a mask for just being a complete piece of.... work. A sociopath who is no longer in my life did the exact same thing. I use his concepts and have watched him for a small bit but I am also not the biggest fan of him. Although I use some of his concepts and have been for awhile, I’ve reached the point where I have studied the market and placed trades live for 1+ years. Failed time and again. But now being profitable for months. Having a live and funded that I’ve place trades on and can be confident and win consistently. You begin to pick up on things you see yourself. U begin to like certain things that maybe someone else doesn’t prefer. U start to craft your own style, using his concepts or not. And what u make suits you and your style of trading. If it makes u money consistently and it works, then it works for u. Who cares about someone else’s philosophies at that point. The game is really all having a good mental, have time on the charts and actual experience trading live with real money. Anyone can do it on replay but it’s different when it’s really on the line. But over time things will fall into place. J be patient and accept that you will lose but it will help you learn and grow.

Go buy books from actual traders who have been there and done it on the big stage. 99.99% of traders on youtube are full of BS. If you think you'll learn anything about trading online then you're going to fail. Go read, study, backtest. I can't tell you how important it is to understand trader psychology. The first few years are rough. But if you really want it and are willing to put in the work, you'll get it.

I remember ICT saying in one of his vids he had 70+ ways to enter a trade (I don't remember the exact number). I'm certain that at ANY point on ANY chart on ANY timeframe for ANY product at least one of those concepts will coincide with a move. Further proof that he, like everyone else, has no clue what the market is going to do. He just curve fits one of the many plagiarized ideas in hindsight to make it seem as though he "knew" it was going to happen in order to keep his faithful deluded followers believing. Those defending him with "but lots of people make money using ICT" are poorly informed, take 800k random traders using whatever crap he's shilling and inevitably you will have some that make money. No more than you would have in a group of 800k NOT using the ICT models, It's random.

Good video. Just a small correction: At 12:41 your 1st and 3rd point are equal, and you use the term "curve fitting" incorrectly. Fitting a model to data (curve fitting) is always done, at least to a degree (even if it is just about fitting the parameters of a probability distribution). You are referring to overfitting in both 1 and 3. It is important that people don't learn that curve fitting is "bad" just because they confuse it with overfitting. Curve fitting is perfectly fine and cannot be avoided completely. Overfitting (and underfitting, for that matter) is not fine though, and measures should always be done to mitigate the risk of overfitting and underfitting. Just wanted to point that out.

I think this video is great eventhough a lot of people don’t get it because they don’t know what trading really is
