True ! I remember soo many people doubting her decision to go Soloist route, but I knew she had the potential bcoz she just exudes that energy ! I'm glad she's gotten popular since her last release and gotten many new listeners.

Not as on how high level vocal technique that showcased, but more on how she could produce clear and stable enough vocal that is really similar with the record version + some nice adlibs. She also did good in her performances on radio, which proof that this is not (much) helped by post processed. I dont say she is the best singer, i just said she did good and her performance is enjoyable in my standard.
It's not a hard song but it definitely does not have a lot of breathing space in between the verses yet she carries it perfectly. And adds her own adlibs!

I remember her crying in Unnies because her coach in JYPent told her her voice stands out too much and I think she was even mocked for her dance skills there. Look what she has become in TBL. Yep ! I've known her since Unnies Slamdunk 2 and she easily became one of my Ults since then... I know many people commented about the tone of her voice but she has now owned that style of singing bcoz it's just her natural tone ! I'm soo happy for the recognition she got this year 😍

When you are in a group you need to have a balance of voices so that wasn't unreasonable. The coach helped her out with her low confidence regarding her voice so IDK what you are on about. It was constructive criticism and her crying about it is also understandable. Same with the dance thing I really don't think she was mocked for that, She was called out for not being able to hold onto her expressions when she wasn't in front in sixteen. Also she was really young when she was there so that factored too
The way Somi has changed physically and mentally just makes me cry. She is now one of the most successful soloists and her confidence compared to previous years has improved. Just queens things

Every high production live music do this nowadays, if they gonna record and produce it for digital vieweing. they only played her own recorded backup vocals; no lip sync. the clear music and voice is because they tuned it up for clear sound; probably EQ'd to remove feedbacks, overall good tone and etc. at the end of each of those instruments are sound crew, who constantly tune it for quality sound. Sound person ‘maintains’ the mix during the show
