Pathologic 2 - All Occupants in the Theatre of Death

"In Pathologic 2, upon dying, the player will be sent to the Theatre to speak with Mark Immortell. There, various townsfolk will be present, if they died throughout the events of the game." - as taken from the wiki.

I was unable to get Mark's line as his is passing dialogue / in conversation, and it wasn't guaranteed I'd be able to speak with him. For those curious, his line is: "I had several paths and liked none. One had me as a beast-man; another as a hunchback; the third... as the indentured servant of some outside force."

are they referring to what happened to them in the original pathologic? in that game Sticky hunted the Albino (a shabnak) and Eva threw her self from the cathedral to become one with it.

Some Dialogue from Eva shows that she is considers doing it in the Haruspex route, but it ultimately didn't happen. Maybe the outcome will be different in the Bachelor route.

a soft reboot is a good way of saying it! it’s very similar to the original with new gameplay mechanics and ways to approach original problems/plot beats

I like to think it is a sequel. It is Groundhog Day and they are all forced to relive these 12 days over and over again in a cycle that expanded beyond just one game.
