Nice build! I like the gatehouses. Not much point in wallstacking your footprint though. If you build the same base with all attached to one TC, you'll see that the total upkeep difference for all TC's combined is negligible. You can just pipe a box full of mats into your TC since the industrial update to get more time on main instead. I understand that you don't want all wide gaps but they're more likely to stay stable in a raid as they're not attached to the walls of the main base. If you change the main entrances to the base, you can actually wrap the widegap around the whole base too, using just 2 externals/wide gaps.
Hjune i respect your opinion and all but id argue the left side is the only side to place core doors and airlock opening out. its important for a starter because when the airlock opens out it works as anti deep, a fail safe, and keeps your bags from being speared out or something so it has a level of entry to grief i.e. Molotov, fire arrow, etc. the one thing i do agree with you on fully is if you put your TC in your loot room it must be on door side to allow more efficiency with movement as you suggest. thank you this is my Ted Talk,
Love the bedrooms but here a few pointers i thought of :) On the shooting floor you can place small boxes on the low walls The raised triangle foundation next to where you open bunker could be lowered but keep the doorframe the same height for a nice turret spot underneath jumpup
Would love to see a base like this built on a vanilla server and see how well it goes up/is manageable live. The cross-sections of the compound look sick, the bedrooms are clever and those peeks are deadly!!
I love how hJune does a video telling people how to make a 2x1, then his next base build he literally throws most of what he taught us out the window. lol

Okay, so its critical that the middle triangle of your honeycomb in 5:44 be upgraded to stone and be oriented in the "left-to-right" direction. Sometimes you need to reposition the triangle from a different stance... upgrade to stone, check the direction (destroy the triangle, if not correct), and re-try again. You should only need to do the buildout for that step once. Its just a matter of time until you get the "left-to-right" orientation correct.
dont know if you'll ever see this comment but i just wanna say some the best times i ever had on rust was jumping on random server with the intent of "just throw up a Hjune" and piss all the clans off until they have to come raid us. we were a 5 man with a combined 30k hours back then, so many times we put 20 plus zergs to shame by winning onlines off of pure skill, not numbers, honestly the one thing that always mattered was we had enough places in our base that as long as we could spawn and get a gun no matter how much control of the base they had we can still win this! and thats something that even though this build you showed doesnt have every crazy piece of tech that modern bases need and have today, i feel like if me and they boys were defending at the very least were gonna give them hell to win this raid!
for your roof peaks you might be able to put a vending machine on top of a elect branch then you could shoot under them an get some good peaks from that and have a shop from it.
tbh at my opinion its way to less storage for main loot. i dont wanna have all my loot in the funnel wall/bunker to run up and down to craft things its just not comfortable and not safe enough if u get online raided u need to run to transfer loot, its almost over then. This base is very uncomfortable for crafting. 7 boxes and 1 vending in an very tight starter and main core, idk. there needs to be more. probably a base for a trio but in my opinion way to tight and not enough fast accessable loot storage. The Roof needs to be upgraded too (need turret and windmill spots) i like the ekostik peek and ramp peeks, the ideas of the bedroom headglitchpeaks are also good. i like the mobility in the funnelwall with the oilrefinery. keep up the grind :)
I am totally a BabyBuilder. I have only done roleplayer bases with no defensibility. I recently learned the Red Room build - finally tried it on vanilla and holy crap it was hard to do as a Solo. Truthfully, base building is hard for me. Most tutorials go too fast and some of the terminology is something I am not sure about. My terminology consists of "The thingy" :-) I really enjoy your content and watch all of your movies. Thank you for what you do. Hugz to you. 💜💜
@@Elijahgoods Hi Cece, thank you! I actually did learn it there first but was trying to put it into practical use. The whole vanilla experience along with bob n weave whilst trying not to die was the kicker :-)
I remember when hJune first did the double bunker with the roof on each side of a 1x2 and you saw the base design in everybody's videos. People were copying them everywhere. That will probably happen to this one also.
FEEDBACK: - Honestly hJune you should completely scrap the entire roof activated bunker and just put a god bunker in the 2x1 starter core. This depends on how deep your group is, seeing as you will need to spawn inside the 2x1 starter core to destroy the twig and open the double bunker. - Also you need protected space for turrets in your shell, and shooting floor. Maybe make it so main respawn floor is on inner peeks and it’s more of a roam room protected by turrets. - Your point of having different types of peeks to confuse raiders is a good one, but you can get the same effectiveness in raids if you just have cleaner, and more numerous angles to peek from. All the peek downs should be either widegapped or free handed because if not, they will crumble when getting pummeled. - Roof needs a LOT of work. Nowadays, the meta is to build something called a “mountain roof”, which can work as a second shooting floor when built well (a huge step up from your basic square and triangle roofs). - I get the main strength of this base is it’s simplicity and cheapness, but there is soo much more you can do in terms of compound. If I were you, I’d Atleast make a skirt with your widegaps and free handed peeks to defend compound easier, and make space for double chain linked turrets on your gatehouses, as well as more compound peeks.
Not sure why its wallstacked, since upkeep isnt too high anyway, you can add small boxes in the low wall peakdowns to give some more cover, and you should try freehand peakdowns! they are super easy and connect yo your main tc
Hey! Instead of the dropbox on the bedrooms outside, what about lockers? I think it would be faster in base defense, and you probably have enought space to get through anyway
You're foundation triangle jump ups on the main base on inner peaks I would lower the foundation triangle put half walls on bottom so you can fit turrets under jump ups so you have protection on both sides and it would be safer to have your TC in core in the corner and have a wall where the door would be but can't wait to see base in a video
Feel sorry for all the bad comments. Lots of special Tricks but in the end i mostly care about atleast one honeycomb to core, the jumpup is the cheapest way in core. Always the Problem on 2x1
I built the 2x1 and honey combed it but when i went to build the shell I was unable to place the 2 triangles that connect to the side of the base. Ion know what to do
Every time I do the vending machine in front of TC and I accidentally interact with vending machine instead of the door or tc from that point on i can only see vending menu. I can't interact with door or tc.
Ok this is a good base for online raids. But for offline is like maybe 16 c4 and on vanilla its easy for me as a solo. Well is good, but not for those who like to not be offlined.

You could split up the 2x1. So you have one square in each bunker.
I love encorperating some sort of open core to my bases. because this base doesn't have a lot of box space. I think an open core would be amazing.

You should go onto build servers such as sanctuary or UKN as you can practise the base as much as you like so when you do it in game it’s more fluent

hey! you should do more expansions of a 2by1 it was a great base design!!
First Video in a Long Time He didnt went AFK
Hmmm.. aloneintokyo would love this base design 🤔
u can put 3 large boxes on top in the starter instead of 2 large and 2 small
Second to third floor jump ups should have one single door peak.
dont need to worry about removing items to place doors anymore yay
i just started the video so i havent seen the whole build but one suggestion is add elevators :)
imma need this base asap
the farmer and base builder.

I'm wondering what the point of the vending machine is when you can just softside the doorframe. I'm assuming he placed that the wrong way.
love the vids dude, have a listen to wake up and smell the coffee by the butterfly collective. would help us out a lot.
Great video man❤
Keep it up man, love it

How do the bunkers work? I can't seem to get them made right
Also after getting the bunkers down I can't place the triangles on the tc side
can access the tc, but can't close the door anymore. is that possible or am i just too stupid?

good base for onlines but 1 wall to tc and nobody onlines today so
Not a fan of the wacky bunker stuff that requires building way out and then back in. Probably makes sense for a zerg though.
