Backpacking in the Maldives on a budget, yes that’s right, all thanks to the beautiful local islands this amazing country has to offer! We were so surprised and felt so grateful, enjoying this most dreamed about location! You don’t need to spend all that money on the luxury resorts when you can have such a similar and just as incredible time here! What local islands would you pick? Or would you pick an all inclusive resort island instead? We’d love to know!😁 Check out the rest of our Maldives series here: th-cam.com/play/PLEqYdCbbLZjHvcftR6QlvjYtn38FN13nh.html
Girls!! Thank you so much for these series! You answered so many of my questions that I had written down about our upcoming to Maldives! Loved watching it, weird seeing you on telly 😂 and we miss you!!
@@Onthemovetravelstories Thank you...I really appreciate your response!! My name is Shondra (on boyfriend's alias account 😂)...you two really just planned our whole Maldives vacation on a budget, we're only going to go for 12 days though! We originally planned on staying at a luxurious resort for 4nights...now we can stay for over a week thanks to the both of you!! I will be subscribing myself here in one moment!! I wish we could send you our pics as well!! I really enjoyed every video...thanks
@@benitotorres3157 Awh wow this has really made our day, it’s so wonderful to hear we could help and we’re so happy to know this! We are very excited for you and hope you both have the best time! We would love to see your pictures if you have instagram you could message us them there, all the best and safe travels🤩😁🥰
hello. thank you for your videos. i would like to ask you , could you please give us more information about the local ferrys? f.e. if I am in dhiffusi and want to go to male and I see the timetable. where can i buy ticket on the islands (i see information in the male office but if I want buy tickets in dhiffusi to male or on maafushi to guraidhoo). i would be really thankful for some information. Maria
No problem so you don’t buy any tickets in advance only in male city at the ticket counter. You simply have to get on the ferry from the island you want to leave on and pay when you are on the ferry 😊 hope this helps! Also there is only one ferry that goes and arrives at the island a day so you have to catch this or there is no other way only public speedboat or private speedboat.
i see now in your videó. one more question: public ferryes were on time? ( departure, arrival) and were everytime free seats? so no full? if you make a videó about the public ferry i am sure U will have a lot of traffic because this topic is actually really missing in the youtube. take care thanks :*
Ok so if you catch a ferry from male city then they will be on time and leave on time. If you catch a ferry from the island it can come very early we were 1 hour early to wait at the jetty and it was just arriving so leave plenty of time before to make sure you get the ferry on time. Also if you ask your hotel they might be in contact with someone on the public ferry so they can call and see when there estimated arrival is 😊 hope this helps
Dhiffushi and Thulusdhoo were both using the same public ferry, then we headed back to Male to then head south to the other 3 islands all using public ferries also, but different routes, they are very well connected 😁
@@Onthemovetravelstories thanks. which of the islands was the most beautiful for you? we are going with children 4 and 10 years in October. I'm looking for some inspiration.
Hello , what about activities ? i will spend 3 nights in gulhi and 5 nights at maafushi island .. im worried about gulhi as it a small island (can i do snorkeling or skuba diving there ? )
Yes we did actually, we mainly chose October because it was my birthday, but the weather ended up being amazing with only like 1 cloudy day per island and it was very quiet apart from Maafushi island! ☺️
Hello! I've seen other wonderful local islands in Maldives and I'm looking for an island to get Male easily, after a 5 nights journey at Fulhadoo. What do you think about Gulhi sea level? Thanks! @Onthemovetravelstories
Hello 👋🏼 Gulhi is a lovely island but extremely small and not much to do there! If you want a larger island and more to do then maffushi island is a good local island ☺️
The Maldives are great if you stay in a high end resort or better still on a boat. Most islands with locals in it are very much a work in progress, full of trash, half finished buidings worked on at all hours, an indifferent local population, limited beaches where you can actually wear swimwear and little value for money. I just returned from Maafushi a few days ago. The small bikini beach was crouded with families from Russia and India. The island is two kilometres long and at least a third is a prison. No charm. All the staff is from other countries as the locals want nothing to do with you. Apparently they have rented their land to foreigners and live off the rent in Male. Male, get in and out as fast as you can. There is nothing to see and do and it is expensive.
Thank you for the comment it seems maybe because we went out of season we had a different experience to you, after around 14 days of small islands it was nice to have a island where there was more to do for a while but we really enjoyed our whole local island experience as a whole 😊

Maldives island is the smallest country in the World.
Wow I didn’t realise this!
Actually it's not, smallest country is Vatican city😅 just Google it man, you can even search by voice.
