The cost is not an issue after the dyno numbers came along... Third gear power-wheelies is cool, but the coolest is when you pass 9000rpm in fifth gear and hit the smallest bumps in the road and the front wheel will leave the asphalt and stay up until you hit the red numbers! That is what 200 crank-HP will get you...
Fuck these engines sound beautiful. In that room it sounds like a v8. I'd love to get a kit like this and put in a track spec kit car. I know a 1000cc is the more commonly used engine, but the character of a set up like this would be so much fun.
Howdy, OP! Just wondering where this bike is now if she's still kickin'! Do you have an instagram we veefer fans can follow? I'm really curious how these would perform with the new VFRD headers...

Hi Waken, I bought the same kit from A&A for my 5th gen, very happy with it! My hp at the wheel didn't get to the 180's though. I had the fuel injectors professionally cleaned before I installed the kit. but I'm still in the 165hp range. Mind sharing some tips how you got to the 180's? Larger fuel injectors, higher boost pressure, modified the fuel map that came with the kit??? LOVE the bike, the kit is awesome, but I know there's more power lurking in there.
tireguy sorry for not responding earlier. Some small modifications to header and shortened muffler, the rest is stock. You will never be powerfully without Dyno! I had the same numbers pre Dyno session! I guess you figured this out by now?
Wondering how many kilometres since you fitted the kit & what issues/failures you've had.

Had some initial issues caused by heat. 35 degrees celcius and radiant heat made the locktite let go and the idler pulley started to travel. I'm on 30000 km now and no issues after this incident.
Japso nothing as of today. I will do a valve check and leak down to see how things are doing on the cylinder heads. I expect there to be some tight clearances due to more heat and higher dynamic compression.
These bikes have a flapper in the airbox that restricts airflow at high rpm to comply with emissions standards. Many people disconnect the vacuum line and plug it.
This year had GEAR driven cams and no VTEC,bike needs more power, it was designed like the RC45 engine.. that was a race bike.. this engine standard is very under powered..Pulls like a train and brilliant but needed 10-20hp more
its all about fuel my friend! if you can get fuel in her she will burn it and make insane power, mess with pully ratio get more boostsssssss + fuel = ;)
@ 4:00 and after, the sound it produces is nothing short of amazing
Thank you. Its by far the best "up-grade" the viffer will ever have :)

How is she doing 13 years later?
I might, one day ;)
Wow, just wow! I can't wait for the 6th gen version of Torocharger to come out! Your bike sounds gorgeous by the way!
yo can you do an update video on this? pros/cons mabey some riding review, hopfully they re release the kit at some point! i need that ish!
I'm hoping to finish the last of the upgrades during this winter. Might be a before/after Dyno to.
@@WackenSS looking faward to it bro

Headers are in stock 🙂
Still alive and kicking. Hoping for some upgrades during the winter.

I hope to find one second hand one day on eBay or the forums
Awesome videos and awesome build man. I'm curious if you still have the vfr and what happened to it
Still alive and awaiting upgrades 🙂
@@WackenSS that is awesome!
Is it possible to buy this supercharging kit?
Woww very nice bike
I have the 2001. Is the supercharger still available somewhere?
No, discontinued.

I have an '07. Do you still have this bike and setup? Any issues with reliability?
Trak doc some bearings on the power-take-off has been changed, other than that it has been fail safe after some initial fastener issues.
Wondering how many kilometres since you fitted the kit & what issues/failures you've had.

Yes, is the internals of engine standard too?
all engine / fi bits are stock, except fuel pump and fuel pressure.
Nice! And how has it lasted, any troubles with internals?

only thing I'm unclear on - what does "deflapped" mean? Did you get rid of the VTEC?
These bikes have a flapper in the airbox that restricts airflow at high rpm to comply with emissions standards. Many people disconnect the vacuum line and plug it.
This is the 5th gen - no vtec.

What is the čist of mounting turbo?
Cost
Would raising the limiter keep that power going? Might need uprated internals though 🤔
Dre M yes, obviously rpm makes power, that is why the vtec makes more with the supercharger. For longevity keeping the rpm's down helps!
@Dre M - should raise the limiter to 16000rpm - that would make way more power !

Diy or eBay...
@affenarsch1987 - No VTEC on this model???
CBRboy1717 nope, pre VTEC, and pre lambda.
@@WackenSS and pre problems)))
You might think so, 20.000km ago I was thinking the same... brakes are mildly upgraded, no fading and no riding it on the track. All is good :)
Where did you get the kit and what year is your bike? I have a 98. I also want those clear blinkers.
The kit came from a shop in the usa but ate now closed :( my bike is pre o2 and 1999. Whitelights.de are awesome, check them out.
You're correct.
What psi are you running and total timing full boost?
ignition timing you mean? about 0.5 bar pressure @12k rpm
3:56 is fool powa
So, how does it perform?
Pulling strong all the way to the rev limiter! Still surprises me how fast those gears empty out!
Still using the stock clutch?
Danimal carnut yes, with uprated springs. A bit tiresome in the low speed urban areas, but not a big bother.

Power! = )
180 bhp on standard brakes and suspension!!!
She's an old girl that won't like that power for long.
Let me be the first to say you are wrong, at least for now 😅
