Welcome back to another video. If you don't already know, I will be moving out and getting my first apartment soon. I wanted to share some essential stuff you will need if you are getting your own place too. Enjoy and let me know if you live on your own, whats some advice you can give? Tips ! I’m 19 I move in a week to a nice apartment!
1- get an apartment you’ll actually enjoy don’t rent a cheap bust down apartment just to settle cause it’s not fun having to plan to move again soon!
2- get cleaning supplies at dollar tree ! Everything is a dollar and they have name brand cleaning products you don’t need to get Walmart or target cleaning products
3- you don’t need to plan too early, when you apply for an apartment you will have a month before you officially move in
4- look at other options if one doesn’t work out it’s probably for a reason for the better ! But have options because people can take your apartment fast!
5- jot down all the stuff you want I recommend looking at the floor plan so you can vision what you want for each room
6- shop at Ross marshalls they have discounted cheap decor!
Kelsi Piper These are great tips! I first moved out at 19 as well. I’m 21 now and about to move again in 2 months. I would also like to add a tip. Implementing a budgeting system was crucial to me when I first moved out. Had I not done that, I feel that I would have had a hard time managing my bills and living expenses.

My boyfriend and I are doing the same thing. We are moving in together around May and we’re trying to get started now. I think it’s so smart to start early so you don’t drain your bank account all at once. I just want to be able to focus on paying the deposit, first months rent, and groceries like you’re doing.

A good idea for coasters are the hardwood floor samples at Home Depot, They are perfect. They come in all different colors (black and grey are my favs) and they have a rubber back. Best part they are free!
I helped both of my kids with the things they needed for their first apartment because they were still in college, couldn’t have my babies living without the essentials! Best of luck and many blessings to you sweetie!

Girl i moved out then i had to move back in. But im moving with my bf this year. But go to tj maxx they have alot of cute things for cheap. Take anything your grandma wants to give to you. I went to walmart to buy things to. Also go to five below for bedroom and kitchen stuff.

Girl you have so much stuff! I would never ever buy something “just in case”, you’re gonna end up with so many things you don’t want. I know it’s tempting to decorate everything and be all ready but I moved out with enough kitchenware so i wouldn’t starve lol
Anna it actually worked out perfectly cause I had everything I needed when I moved. I didn’t have to go out and spend extra money last minute cause I ended up forgetting something. Everything I bought in the vid I use lol
Tyra Johnnae If you do use it that’s great! I’m leaning more towards being a minimalist so I literally only have two cooking tools, two pots, one pan and so on😂 My Appartement is tiny af so seeing you move with 16 pots and 20+ utensils kinda gave me second hand anxiety lol. But I’m happy it worked out for you!

I love how you are preparing wish I thought of this when I was moving can’t wait to see you in your apartment.
Also another tip is if you have a birthday coming up or even Christmas ask for stuff for your new place. Check thift stores and ask your relatives. Lots of times they buy new stuff but keep the old ones 'just in case' and you can get lots of free stuff that way and replace them later with items that are more your style later. You had great tips about making lists and getting thing in advance etc. Thanks for sharing! Good luck in your new place

Currently doing the same! I thankfully had a lot of stuff from my wedding that I kept unopened. Also, dollar tree and Walmart have soooo much. Big lots was great too. Thank you for reminding me of things I forgot lol

I put a lot of stuff on layaway while I was waiting to move at the time Kmart had 2 month layaway so I put my table set, pots, pans, dishes and some appliances and bed stuff on layaway and I put my furniture on layaway also at a Ashley furniture so I really didn't need much on moving day

The list thing is really smart
if your on the younger side and your thinking next couple years ask for stuff for chirstimas(or gift giving holiday) for few of your bigger items that you need specially if you don't have anything you want .

I wanted to do it this way when I first moved out but my husband (i got engaged at 18 and married at 19) got deployed so we had to move 3,000 miles away and it would have been way too expensive to buy ahead then ship it so i had to buy it all at once
