“Win this for all the small schools that never had a chance to get here.” Cincinnati is definitely going to set the tone for the future for Group of Five Teams to give them a chance to compete at the highest level.
Unless they get absolutely murdered in the playoffs. Then a G5 team probably wouldn't ever be considered again. Lol
Teams like Oklahoma and Notre Dame are way richer programs than Cincinnati too, they can afford to get blown out and still have high chances of coming back for more. This might be Cincy's one and only shot at proving themselves worthy. The only reason they made the playoffs this year, is because they are literally the only undefeated squad left, and they still barely landed at #4.
I hope Cincy wins the National championship.
Bruh no way they beat bama bro im not a bama fan but do you really think a aac team can beat a sec team that has been as well established in the playpffs for the last 10-15 years under nick saban look how bad ucs defense was the first half they were like they wouldnt tackle like they were afraid to be hit with a penalty i was at the game with my friends and their roomates but logically bama is just too good sadly

I was at this game, and as a Cincy alum that has seen a half empty, morgue like Nippert in the early 90s, to have been in that buzzsaw noise tank that Saturday was beautiful...

People give them hell for playing close games against lower teams but when it's a top opponent they show up
Cincy is a good team. Definitely good for a G5 and could probably beat most FBS teams.... but Bama is fixing to roll em on their side. I HATE Alabama, but we got to be realistic.

Not that this call decided the game, Cincy did fantastic against a tough Houston squad, but I don't think I've seen a horse collar tackle called this entire season until this game. I have watched guys yanked off their feet in multiple games with egregious horse collars, but for some reason that ref broke with the jersey tug.
By the rules it is a horse collar. Wrap the guy up with your arms or let him go. Also slammed him to the ground after. I'm still trying to figure out why the fumble returned for a touchdown was overturned. He had the ball and on his second step he got hit and dropped it. That's two steps with the ball.
Cincinnati is playing for every small school that never got the opportunity to play in these big games
