    Great video! 1g is underrated, stackers look on premiums and get blinded. Buying a 1g is better than blowing money on lunches or at coffe shops.. a great way to stack and it all adds up in the end.

    I just received my first 1/4oz AGE (2024) and plan on having 12 by Christmas, only because of a 3oz personal goal. I've been a silver stacker for the past couple of years and I'm anxious to add gold to my holdings.
    I plan on purchasing both silver and gold on a monthly basis beginning January 2025, and these small bars will fit nicely into the budget. I really like the Britannias and Fortunas. I may go a different route with 5g bars instead of 1g because of premium considerations, but the idea is the same as you've outlined here.
    I really appreciate your knowledge and focus! Cheers!

    I try and buy 1 gram and a couple silver coins a month. £150 a month. I can’t save up for a 1 once gold coin as I will dip into that money. Try and think of it as a standing order coming straight out of your account every month and £150 I am able to afford.

    Thats a good price from Tavex. I am trying to build up a stocks and shares ISA, focusing on S&P 500. But gold is more fun for me, and so I am still picking up some gold when I see a dip. I bought some sovereigns recently, Platinum Jubilee's, because I like the design on those a lot. I have a bunch of 1 ounce gold Britainias that I would like to add to as well, but I think the ISA is more important for me.

    In my opinion its better to save for 2 or 4 months and buy either 2.5g or 5g. Still fractional and way less premium to pay. 1g is way to high of premium in my opinion.Its around 30% compared to 2.5g of 17% and 5g being around 8-10%. Id rather spend this premium on more gold or silver!

  • @pepijng9164
    @pepijng9164 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    When it comes to bars, premiums become reasonable from five grams. Therefore, a better strategy would be to buy EGLN, a physical gold ETF, monthly until you have enough to buy a 5g bar. Just for comparison, a 1g bar on average has a premium of 35% while a 5g bar has a premium of 12,5% (based on bullionbypost). When buying a 1g bar, it take you 5 years of 7% returns to make back the premium. A 5g bar takes less than two years.
    Therefore, a more rational strategy would be to either save 1g equivalent in cash or EGLN each month and then buy a 5g bar after 5 months. This strategy essentially makes you 21% extra per year: each year you'll end up with 14,5 grams of gold instead of 12.

      Both purchases make sense if you have a long-term time horizon. I like the 1 gram option despite the astronomical premiums because I think we are closer to the potential of a SHTF "Mad Mad" landscape occurring here in the States based on how polarized our nation's politics have become. People here have really lost their minds post-COVID, and when C.B.D.C replaces our money or our dollar eventually collapses---and it will---having an alternate means of barter will be priceless. Otherwise, my grandchildren can inherit and sell them someday.

    Another interesting subject, but it looks like Tavex will be getting more custom from us all in 2024 FI. 24 carat gold is the same anywhere you go but Tavex are cheaper than most of the bullion dealers in the UK. I started buying my bullion from Tavex 2 years ago and will be buying lots more from them because of their lower prices and exceptional customer services!

      What do you mean by Unallocated? :)

    • @richieflesfadar6893
      @richieflesfadar6893 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Basically, you purchase from a bullion dealer a share of physical metal that is actually stored at the dealer.
      You pay spot price for either the gold or silver in either grams or ounces.
      No premium is charged because you're not taking delivery of any physical metal.
      So you buy whenever you can/want and it's kind of like a savings account (for lack of a better explanation)
      If you want to sell back to the dealer the dealer will give you the current spot price minus a small amount for their premium.
      If you want to collect the physical metal you just pay the difference between the current spot price and the price of the bullion.
      Example: (I'm in Australia so it's in dollars)
      If you buy 1oz of silver at $34 (spot) and want to buy a 1oz coin 12 months later and the coin is costing $150 and spot has increased to $100/oz... all you
      pay is the difference between the current spot and the price of the coin...$50.
      It doesn't matter how high the spot price goes you will always have however many ounces of silver you have purchased because you locked that price in when you bought it.
      It's all fully guaranteed and insured.
      Hope you can make sense of that 😆
      I have no idea if that sort of thing is available in the UK either.
