While I had used his photos before, I had forgotten to put the subtitle in giving him credit (the subtitles added in this video are not him, and I removed his photos from this video). The photographer wanted me to remove the video or I would receive a copyright strike. I originally planned to download the original video and reupload this right away with the photos removed. However, after deleting the video, I found out that the video I downloaded had no audio. I though the video was lost forever, but somebody happened to reupload the video with the audio in tact. So I ripped the audio and put this video together with new photos. Bottom line: always be careful when it comes to using other people's content. For the first few years I didn’t ride FULL THROTTLE because of incredibly long lines, no flash pass, and even besides that when you see it it doesn’t look that big. Then I rode it. WOW!!! Loops of that size are truly amazing to ride. The bonus of course with FT is getting to go over the top of it at the end. It’s a fantastic and beautiful ride and NO OVER THE SHOULDER RESTRAINTS!!!!! Marvelous!!
I only just got back into riding coasters after a sorta-10 year hiatus. So much has changed! Hang time is a new term, as is EJECTOR AIRTIME. Full Throttle at Magic Mountain taught me everything I need to know about both! That loop is the greatest loop I’ve ever experienced. It’s just got so much track to it! And it’s so round as opposed to oblong. You ride upside down for a much greater period of time, plus you’re barely launched through it to achieve maximum length of hangtime. The world needs more of these. I used to overlook the vertical loop, but now it’s my very favorite inversion. Zero G rolls, be damned!! And while the breaks half way up the top hat kinda suck, you still get ejected out of your seat on the way down. Top Hats are my very favorite non-inverting element. Full Throttle packs a lot into it’s tiny layout, love it!!
I've been on Medusa at SFDK, and it's easily the smoothest roller coaster I've ever been on. Pretty solid layout, too. I just wish it had more theming.
I actually have been on Hypercoaster at land of legends and it was a nice starter ride i could call it, It had everything:inversions, airtime, and snappy transitions Over all, pretty good.
I see Dominator on the thumbnail picture and I freak-in click on the thing! Dude, thanks for mentioning my favorite ride at Kings Dominion. It still holds as the first ride to go to when entering the park during the morning hours and going back to it in the evening when I get the chance to do it before the park closes for the night
As much as oddessy beats you up.. there isnt much head banging because the trains are good. But going almost 70 mph on track designed almost 50 years ago ain't going to be smooth. That being said.... it's an incredibly intense ride and is sheer size and scale is impressive. Especially that drop
Have you ever been on that SLC? I know the model is said to be bad but the Odyssey could be better, you dont know. Maybe you have to die in order to get good coasters though who knows
I love you're channel, very informative and you can see all the passion and research you put on your videos. Just a small critique, if you can put the metric mesures even if its in a small parentheses it would be great!
With Fiesta Texas being my home park, I have ridden the superman many, many times and can tell you that I believe this is one of the best if not the best roller coasters I have ever ridden. That loop is super intense.
Hey Fiesta Texas is also my home park! I even worked there in high school. Ironically also worked at La Cantera at the former Aeropostale, Bath and Body Works and Neiman Marcus. Everyday I went to work in college I was reminded of my high school days working at Fiesta Texas. It’s funny though, I swear more than half of the time Superman isn’t on the vertical loop at all. Like as a kid growing up, I remember it w/out him. I agree that the loop is intense. I’ve ridden it so many times I can remember exactly how the entire track is laid out with it’s corkscrews and everything.
I’m from San Antonio and the way he said “La Cantera” sent me. Also, the superman statue isn’t always up at the top. Sometimes he’s not there at all. You can see the Krypton Coaster from the nearby loop 1604 freeway and from some of the 3rd and 4th floor classrooms at UTSA on the other side of 1604.
I learned something from this video If you have a cap and a belt strap the cap to the belt before you go on a coaster so you do not lose it! That man is a genius 6:56
Glad you put viper on there as an honorable mention. I thought it would be on this list for sure but didn’t realize the loop was sitting on a higher plot of land lol. And is it me or does thunderbird look like it’s really hauling a#$ through that giant loop. Definitely going the go there someday :)
I live in San Antonio and every time I go to la Cantera to shop, while driving passing the Superman roller coaster, I always roll my window down to hear the screams. That’s how tall it is :)
Check out Cannibal at Lagoon in Farmington, Utah - the 140-foot loop (following the 208-foot drop at a beyond vertical 116 degrees) is insanity!! A truly unique and AWESOME ride. The swift elevator ride to the top of the tower is exhilarating...
Some stand under 200 ft. Hollywood Dream, Steel Eel, Expedition GeForce, etc. And if you don't officially count those as hypers, than there are roller coasters that are less than 200 ft tall, but have a greater than 200 ft drop due to terrain. Like Apollo's Chariot and Phantom's Revenge.
@@jeffgannon5783 No, masks are for intelligent peoples, who actually have a brain. You don't have one if you wear a mask. You are just dumb and selfish by not wearing one. Get out.
Fun fact: When the 90's coaster called Kumba opened, it had the tallest vertical loop of 108 ft, which is as tall as a blue whale. This even beat Montu's loop by 2 feet.
Hey odyssey!!! Fantasy island is favourite theme park in the country cause I've gone multiple times through my whole life Not been on it yet cause every time I've gone it's been closed Going there late July so I've got my fingers crossed
I have ridden 4 of these (5 if you include Viper, the honorable mention): Scream, Medusa, Dominator and Full Throttle :) Most likely riding Thunderbird in less than a month and Kraken next year!
Scream did not fill a hole in Six Flags Magic Mountain's lineup. They already had both a Bolliger & Mabillard multi-inversion coaster and a sit-down multi-inversion coaster. Scream was basically just a combination of Riddler's Revenge and Viper. While I don't understand why, apparently Six Flags Magic Mountain likes to do this, because they did it again with West Coast Racers, which is basically a combination of Full Throttle and Twisted Colossus.
Well, Magic Mountain needed a dueling coaster, and Twisted Colossus never duels. Also, Viper is not a very comfortable or popular sit-down looping coaster, and Scream is much more enjoyable. It would be like saying Cedar Point didn't need Rougarou because it already had Corkscrew.
I imagine they decided to increase the size of Superman's loop because they saw the opportunity to make a record breaking loop and took it. It seems sacrilegious at this point to not put a huge vertical loop on a B&M floorless coaster

If I had a dollar for every time a Theme Park Crazy video gets reuploaded, I could buy out Michigan’s Adventure and add a B&M Strata.

That B&M is gonna have a poor return on investment due to the lack of people in the area to draw from 😂
