- Laura Pergolizzi - LP - has found success in the music industry through her strong vocals, enigmatic androgyny and sheer ability to write a hit. After writing songs for the likes of Rihanna and Christina Aguilera, her own single 'Lost On You' shot into the charts last year. Channel 4 News' Minnie Stephenson asks the star how she defines herself and her music.

I see that there's a lot of females here loving and supporting LP. As a man and a heterosexual, I thinks she's beautiful, sexy, and an amazing artist.
Gender fluid is a cop out...like my son says MAKE UP YOUR F#CKING MIND...go one way or the other...we all make decisions...make one. One decision she has made...to create incredible music and a voice for the LBGQT community.

From as far back as I can recall i've always challenged gender standards as I got SO provoked by the way most things in the world was sectioned into boy and girl..😀
I'm a cis girl raised by only women and the 70's kind = body positivity and conversations about all the emotions and physical changes that happens in a girl growing up,
but I could've easily misinterpreted my interest in equal diversity and inclusiveness for all
(that any gender should be able to do as they please with their own body & their whole life in general)
as me not being a girl hadn't I had those strong women around me to tell me I was just a strong girl for doing whatever felt right to me ^^
So I'm personally really glad I just got to be ME so that I now wake up as an adult woman every morning, rather than having had transitioned into a boy, just because my personality was crazy tomboy and liked to dress androgynous ^^🍀🙏
Why would you rush people to take such serious decisions?
Makes NO sense to me how that descision would make her life better in any shape, especially when she is already so loved for being her authentic self😊🌸
I couldn't even imagine how she would look without her fluid apperance! Honestly I am looking a little more forward to transitioning from young to mature adult after having seen how lovely she can portray herself!

When i first saw her in "Girls go Wild", i was like:
- Is that a girl?
- Is that a boy?
- Eh, i don't care, the music is awesome and the person looks smashingly unique and charming.

Exactly, I had no idea the gender for a second and just as fast I realized it DID NOT MATTER because they were beautiful and amazing transcending all genders
People tend to try and label people by gender before they try and make sense of them. Gotta realize that that reaction is encoded into us. We decide how to treat people by first identifying whether they are a boy or a girl. Myan, I basically dropped that way of thinking. I treat people by who they are. Whether they are decent people, naïve, stubborn, deep, caring.. Some millennials still gotta shake that boomer-raised mentality.
Categorized differently. See differently. You decide what is important, and frankly.. unless you're looking to smash (Which seems to be the driving force in peoples mentalities) you don't need to know what's between their legs.
LP really got me with “Lost on you” Live-straight away. i am older so I remember this excitement over a voice and person from Annie Lennox as well-also very androgynous, and even younger-David Bowie! What is with me and a total attraction to the androgynous? But the voice slays me dead!
Annie Lennox? Well if she reaches that stratosphere she really has arrived...I just discovered the gorgeous and almost 58 Mylene Farmer...she did that duet with. WOW...

I don't understand why these people who claim to hate her and her music have bothered to listen to this interview, or listen to her music, or even make comment. If you don't like it then just don't listen to it. Go and listen to something you do like. You are in charge of what you see and hear. Nobody forced you to listen to this interview or her music.

I love LP and her music . Only came across her a few months ago and I’ve never fallen in love with an artist and their music as quickly as I have with LP.
This is exactly why I find her so intoxicating - it's her unapologetic, raw truthfulness to herself. It doesn't matter what she looks like or whom she dates - she exudes calm confidence and powerful, unabraded authenticity that is just so damn sexy and life-affirming! Her state of consciousness is like an attainable, superior life form that inspires and gives hope to humanity. I feel stimulated on countless levels when I watch and listen to this woman.

when LP got viral in italy with Girls Go Wild, my mom saw her on television and straight up told me "look at her, she's awesome". i started to listen to her music, i noticed how fashionable and talented she is. I'm so glad to know her as an artist, i wish i could know more of her as a person, she's so lovely

Yeah sadly channel 4 interviews are often quite curt the interviewers are, well, they follow their questions and tend not to wing anything, they always come across as having a considerable lack of personality
When I heard her sing lost truly thought she was a young man, greatly resemblance to a friend we lost to drug abuse. I FELL IN LOVE.. THEN found my self questioning my own sexuality but remember having a goid cry singing along thats also when i realized I could cry and sing at the same time. LP has touched me since then in many ways

I am 100% Hetero and never did anything with females when opportunities presented themselves. LP could change that. Pretty much only two times in my life was I confused and attracted by a woman and this is one. Wonderful voice and she’s cool too.
