Here’s what a quick $4.64 meal looks like at a convenience store in seoul ~ written recipes jasmineandtea.... link to ingredients www.amazon.com... instagram / jasmineandtea 🍵
Today, I learned that not all convenience stores aren't like ours 😅 It's just like a mini mart. It has everything like processed and fried foods, toiletries, pantry ingredients (flour, oil, canned goods but in small sizes), drinks (soda and alcohol), condoms and cigarettes, disposable underwear, umbrellas and raincoats, make-up (mascara, liptints and bb creams), school supplies, etc. Some conbinis even have an atm machine. You can even pay your utility bills there. The prices of goods are a bit higher compared to buying it from an actual grocery store, but it's extremely useful in case of emergencies.
@@Gremlin-id1pb Let's do the math. They charge us about 2.50 for korean instant ramen, so that's $5 for 2. The two boiled eggs are probably $1 apiece. I have no idea how to price a cup of ice, fifty cents maybe? And probably $4 for a dumpling, more if it had meat in it. And $1.50 for a can of soda. So that's about $13, we'll say the real price depending on where you live would be anywhere from $10-16. So for $4.64 usd you could get 3 to 4 times more food in South Korea than you could get in America.
@@pluckybellhop66 Yes, but the other thing is the fact that that is the cheapest for ramen, the kind she is eating we wouldn't consider instant ramen instead probably smth else... Super cool u did the math tho-
I suppose we have something similar (our gas stations have convenience stores in them) in Virginia, we have Sheetz and WaWa which are basically like mini food stops, you can get food while you fill up your gas
And then inflation will get high in Korea because of Americans and people moving there. Just like it happened in México and other countries in the world 😒
@@TheAlien_in_your_backyard not like the countries belong to you or anybody else. If someone wants to move what where, you shouldn't have anything to say about it
Says "Fried noodles", but made it with soup.😱 The pouched drinks and cups are so satisfying, like the content just fits the cup. 😁 Wish I could visit Korea someday.
How cute you can have a hearty meal with just 5 dollars❤ I love countries like this. So much choice and options. You can literally travel on low budget if they have cvs like these
@@ttdur8102 ramen like shin ramen, which is supposed to be soupy, yes, but this one is supposed to be with no water that’s the only reason I mentioned in case she wasn’t aware :) because with the amount of water she had in there it might have been super bland and she might have thought it wasn’t that good when in reality she would like it haha :).
im pretty sure that was a fried ramen noodle. u're supposed to drain the water first before adding the seasoning. and the guide in the packaging says that as well 😭
Can you please share what your enjoying. For those ot us that can read what is labeled on the product. I dont want to just assume what it is. You make it look delicious and worth a try.
What is the drink?? Coffee? Flat soda??? I’m totally intrigued…and in love with all the ice options…and the ice is perfect, not all melted and refrozen lol
Idk I never liked the method of using hot water from a kettle to cook the noodles I'm use to the boiled water from a pot. But it does come in handy when you're on the go.
that's what my thought too is, because of the name of the noodles plus the instructions at the back, where it looks like you need to throw away the water
That bun thing looks so good but i know even if i like the outside i most likely wont like the inside, looks like redbean only tried it once but it was made different. I somehow missed the transition from counter to table and was so confused as to why she was making her food at the check out counter.😅
You did the whole thing wrong😭 according to the steps it should go like this 1, take out contents from the cup snd set aside 2, put water (cold or hot) then microwave for 4.5 minutes 3, drain (there shiuld be holes on the top so try poke them next time) 4, put all the little packets in the cooked noodle for it to taste like the way it shiuld be

Casually enjoying a meal near the toothbrushes. I wish all convenience stores were like this! 😋💕
Wait are they not near you?😮 cause all of the ones near me are
Is it considered disgusting in your country?
It's clean and haven't been used by anyone tho

If you're talking abt the US, you are SEVERLY underestimating prices. That meal would be like 4 or 5 times maybe even 6 times more here

Not very valuable in Europe.

Food may be cheap but their housing crisis is just as bad if not worse than ours. You'll be spending 2k a month on a studio apartment.
Where one thing is cheap, other things are not. Housing for example and having key money for an apartment isn’t cheap.
These videos are satisfying to watch, but I can never fathom the amount of plastic used or waste produced to get one drink.
Areas like this are very different in the way they recycles their plastics. They actually sort them here.

The first cup noodle .. you are suppose to drain the water and put in the powdered packets
