Great video. I thought I was going to be forced into replacing the phone but this video helped me replace the battery and was easier than I thought it would be because of it. Thank you.
@@TechnicalUstadji007 huawei p9 known to eat battery. There's few tricks to help improve battery life : 1) never let battery go to 0% (fully discharge often). Thanks for the video! After a few tries I finally did it! I had to get lcd opening pliers to open the phone as I tried for many hours how it shows on the video and wasn't able to (that was the trickiest part). Also for that hair drier works to melt the adhesive! After that the other tricky part was unsticking the battery but it all seems working fine now, thanks!
The part with removing the battery from the adhesive is very messy in this video, I'd even say dangerous. First, you should try removing the original adhesives by pulling them carefully from the top - there are protruding edges left for this purpose. As this usually fails, you have to proceed with prying the battery out, but I couldn't stress enough that you should be extra careful with the two flex cables under it. They are especially easy to cut if you start prying from the side, as shown here, so you'd better start from the top, after removing the motherboard. Just check the other videos on P9 battery change, you'll get a better idea.
Isn’t it impossible to find a little torque screwdriver for their two little screws on the outside of the charging port??? I found one after 30 mins of asking ppl in my engineering lab, but then it didn’t work (budge the screws) after I tried to screw again once completed, so those TIIINY little screws are gonna have a hard time coming out the next time I try to switch battery or if my current one gives me problems
I bought Scotch double sided tape and it seems to work fine for the job. One issue not mentioned is when taking out the battery it can become super hot (like smoking hot), so have a couple of thicker materials rags available to grab the battery and help you transport the battery quickly outside (or somewhere safe). Apart from that and the tricky job of first cracking it open it was easy enough, even for a non-DIY type like myself. If you have no tools order a battery with all the screwdrivers etc as I got the exact ones for the job, so worth the extra 50p (pounds sterling) and the battery seems fine, the fingerprint works and it charges ok as well, so well worth the £5-ish it cost to do.
I was unable to do that, the phone staid in the case and i 've got only the screen out. The screen was glued to the case, when i get ride of the glue, then of course the screen came out... attached by it's ribbon. The phone not. So how do i pull the phone out .... ?????
Don't understand why you make harder life for yourself? Looks very non-logic step to put a new adhesive tape underneath the new battery. With the screwed on back it will stay in place very safely and would be much less trouble for future change. IMO.
Abdullah Sohail mine was the same. It was the connector next to the battery connector. Make sure it is connected properly before you screw that metal plate back on.

What is the type of adhesive tape you used on this project? My old P9 needs a new lease of life. I will give this a go and let you know how I get on.
