      They should be just fine. Being compressed for extended periods of time doesn't wear down springs nearly as much compressing and decompressing repeatedly. Now the feed lips, who knows. Maybe that's what you were curious about? I've heard stories of polymer magazines like the Pmags having their feed lips crack over time but I haven't ever experienced that and I have half a dozen Pmags that have been fully loaded for a few years now. • @ArmatisReviews
      @ArmatisReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally get what you're saying. Could that be the case? Possibly. But I honestly don't think that's what happened, and here's my rationale:
      -They honestly never asked me to give a good review. I reached out to them, they sent out the mags, that was it.
      -When I approached them about the issues with the mags, they mentioned the cosmetic mags could be the issue. They asked what the dates were on the mags. I didn't want to give them the dates. I wanted them to tell me which dates were part of the cosmetic batch. So I had them give me the dates and I compared it to what I had. They said if they have date stamps on the mags before x date (I don't remember the exact date off the top of my head) then they were cosmetics. So I looked, and mine were a month or two before that deadline which meant they were part of the cosmetic batch, according to them.
      -They sent me new mags past that deadline, and they functioned perfectly.
      Now, could it have just been a general screw up in manufacturing and they claim it was a cosmetic batch that were mistakenly sent to me? Sure, that's possible and I get why people would think that. I honestly have no way to know for certain if that's the case or if they were truly cosmetics mistakenly sent to me. But I don't believe that's the case. I'll probably never know for sure. So take the follow up review for what you will.
      Thanks for watching and for the comment. I appreciate it!

    Please don't use the amend 2 magazines. i purchased 1 because the store was out of pmag. well it failed miserably. you can load it but when you take pressure off the last round it immediately spits the rounds back out at you. the top of the magazine that retains the round has spread apart almost in a "Y" shape. i had to contact amend 2 twice in a span of 3 weeks to actually get them to respond once. they did say they would cover it under warranty but i would have to pay the cost to send it back to them. well i didn't want to pay more money for a product that had already failed just to get a new one and totally lose out on the cost of shipping it back to them. if you have them i don't suggest loading it and storing it loaded. load, fire, leave it empty when you are done. mine had only been stored loaded roughly about a month. i have plenty of pmags and not one has failed but i have started buying metal mags (aluminum case mags) they have worked flawlessly for our military for decades and they can be trusted. Personally i can't trust my life on an amend 2 mag.

    Unmarked "cosmetic" magazines. That is 100% BS lol
    At best it's a simplified explanation of a sequence of events that resulted in their ownership of free / discounted / full cost faulty mags they didn't want to dispose of for some unstated reason. At worst it's a cover-up for their poor quality. I don't understand why a mag company would be kicking around faulty mags that were indistinguishable from production mags.
    They should at least offer an explanation about why they still have those magazines and how they get mixed in with production mags to make it seem somewhat plausible, otherwise I have to assume they are lying to cover themselves for creating a low quality product. I have two Amend2 mags and my experience is the company only produces "cosmetic" magazines.

    • @ArmatisReviews
      @ArmatisReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get what you are saying. Obviously I have no way to know for sure if it was an honest cosmetic mistake or if it was just a defective production.
      My understanding is that they were made for photos and whatnot, and not necessarily fine-tuned for function yet. But, I am not a manufacturer, I don't know how all of that works or if it makes sense.
      I will say that I have purchased/used other Amend2 AR-15 mags and they work flawlessly. In fact I just did a test with them with 200gr 300BLK rounds to see if they would feed reliably, as they're technically not designed to work with 300BLK but I've had some people ask me if they work with 300BLK. So I did a test with them and they fed perfectly.
      So, in my eye they are generally good mags. They don't pay me to say good things about them (if they did then I would never have needed to post an updated review. The first one would have been perfect, right?).
      I get your skepticism though and I don't blame you. Sorry to hear that your mags are not working for you. Have you tried reaching out to them?

    • @Fred-mv8fx
      @Fred-mv8fx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ArmatisReviews I'm not trying to cast doubt on your integrity. They gave you an explanation that seemed plausible based on your experiences and you relayed it in the review.
      I don't buy their explanation though. I can't see them commissioning an expensive mold that produces out-of-spec parts intentionally. It could be they were responsible for the faulty mold and therefore the faulty parts, but they wanted to retain them for displays (gun shows, maybe?) where function doesn't actually matter, and they colloquially refer to them as, "cosmetic."
      That explanation still provides some points that should probably be addressed:
      - Why would they use them for displays? Why not send them back, grind them up, and turn them into functioning, sellable products? It happens all the time in the plastics industry. When a supplier delivers a lot that contains maybe a single scratched or out-of-spec part, the whole lot can often be rejected and reprocessed at the supplier's expense.
      - After failing to separate known faulty parts from sellable parts, what have they done to prevent this? Why should consumers expect to not accidentally receive bad parts?
      - Is the root cause of the failure that produced the faulty parts understood and corrected, so consumers can expect to receive in-spec parts from now on? The tiniest bit of insight into the failure would help.
      And so forth. Each possible rationalization I consider poses its own set of unanswered questions that casts doubt on the reasonableness of their explanation. If you're able to press them for more information it would be invaluable for the review. It would also give the company an opportunity to reassure skeptics like myself that they have a handle on it through your review. I'm not into bashing companies just for the fun of it, and I appreciate a good deal.
      I actually keep these crappy mags because they suck. Practice shooting from them gives me opportunities to fix surprise problems that I don't experience with my other mags.

      @ArmatisReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I've heard that as well. In my opinion if it's not causing any problems like malfunctions or throwing brass into your face, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it's functioning properly and reliable and throwing the brass, then it's working. The brass is going forward because the BCG/extractor are throwing the brass into the brass deflector which is bouncing the bras forward.

    I bought the 3 pack. All garbage. They swell out when I loaded them. 30 round mag loaded with 28 rounds. Cant fit in the gun. Never been shot. And I cant get ahold of anyone.

      Wow, really? I honestly haven't had a problem like that at all with any of mine. Are you sure they're legitimate? I haven't seen a 3 pack before.

      @Armatis Reviews the 3 pack is called the Patriot 3-Pack special edition with unique red, white and blue internals. Only seen them at Sportsman's Warehouse for $36.99 plus tax.

      That's very interesting. I haven't had THAT problem yet. Seems like the QC is all over the place. Some people report love for them, others report similarly to you. Sorry about your luck! :(
