  • BMW 325i E30 Convertible - Heater, Blower Motor Fan Replacement (noisy blower motor repair). Turned out that one set of blades on the heater motor were worn and were spinning off centre. They were rubbing metal shaft to metal - hence the noise! Got a second hand part and changed it all over in an hour or so. Quiet as a brand new now!
This video shows you a step by step removal and replacement of the blower motor in a 1988 BMW 325i Convertible. This procedure is essentially the same for all e30 BMW 3 Series 1982-1993.
I bought this Original BMW part (part number: 0130063031 BOSCH) for 55£ (68$)
The same part you can use from BMW E36 and Z3, E36/7.

    Great video, very useful.
A tip: At 1:56 levering out the clip, there is a hole in that clip, to release it you need to hook into the hole and pull it down and outward at the same time as the clip is Z shaped.

I can't get the air con/heating fan to work at all, replaced resistor not no avail...either fuse (which looked okay) or I"m guessing my blower motor is also gone ?

Hello my friend. Nice video. And mine fan not work at all. He started first not work in 1 and 2 position, and after did not work either in 3 and 4. Your opinion to help me, it's posible to has damage the switch or fan ? Thanks

Hi, Thank You. Firstly I suggest you to check fan fuse, because bad fuse may cause this problems. If fuses are ok, then check your resistor. Most likely resistor might be dead, thats might be the case that you described that firstly it stopped to work on 1. and 2. speed and later on it stopped to work on 3. and 4. speed.
just let me know how things went with your E30. ;)

Hi and thanks for the reply. First the fan was not working in the position 1 and 2. After the lights began to change little the power when the switch was in position 4 and saw that the fan was not working at all. If I conect the fan motor directly 12v to check? The resistance is the swicth button? Thanks

If You connect fan motor to the car battery it should be running, but connect it while engine is off. When you get to the blower motor inspect your resistor thats might be your problem. You can either buy new one from ebay or take your old resistor to electrician to fix it.
