Plenty of players have heart grit you can find them anywhere we need scorer offensive minded players stop with the goon character heart its not needed untilt he playoffs... and by they you will see who has it or not. NO GOALs equates to no win.. there is so much a goalie and D can do there will be break downs everyone is as good or better so yes trade a useless confused goon already.

Special teams PP1 and Shorthanded are a big problem. He needs to change the PP1 line (pass - pass -- pass , one timer from Pasta, save from the goalie) It is too predicable and does not work. Keep an eye on Carlo when shorthanded. He is always out of position, or on his butt. Also the line changes are predictable. Bruins go into a line change all at once leaving the far blue line open. The opponents are on to this and a quick pass will lead to an opportunity for them. This has been the way since Monty has been coaching. How can he not fix what is obvious mistakes.

the line change problem you illustrate was never more in evidence than the second panthers game in boston this year. the Bs went for a sloppy change with the puck not sent deep and the panthers parked a guy on the far side blue line away from the benches. he scored the game winner. i have also noticed that opponents have seen this and they wait for the Bs to make their chronic sloppy line changes and they set up for them. it happened all last year and i was screaming about it, until it peaked during the playoffs when the Bs blew away the existing playoff record for too many men penalties with 7 in 13 games.

They reverted to their backing into their zone and giving easy access f or Toronto to set up. LIke a few games back, when 5 on 5 in our zone, it looks like the opposition is on the power play. Once again, the Bruins were active participants in their own ass whuppin. Killer penalties stress their unusually sieve-like PK. Aren't power plays supposed to be a weapon? They were last night - for Toronto because the ineptitude of the Bruins' odd man advantage helped the Leafs tick off the clock. The form we saw on the weekend where the B's looked like how we hoped they would going into the season: fast, physical and more defensively sound as compared to earlier in the year. I thought the Bruins had enough stout guys to park in front of goaltenders causing problems for defenders. In no way are they doing that but having that done in their end. A few games ago, Montgomery spoke of the club needing to improve their attitudes, right? Well, they're still showing they're not consistently willing to commit to the night's task of hard, fast, physical but disciplined hockey. We saw Sweeney finally get the message and emphasize the addition of size and grit. Zadorov has been undisciplined but rugged in his thumping of people. He's been as advertised. Kastelic has been physical and a pleasant surprise offensively in centering Boston's best line so far. Coepke reminds me of Randy Burridge in that his motor is always running. I had visions of Jones and Tufte not necessarily fighting but pasting people against the boards. That still may happen down the line but not so far. To be fair, they've been on short leashes. Think I read Jones has played 44 minutes. My hope was these guys who were acquired would be part of making every game a streetfight for the puck. Like the Canes and Panthers do. I've seen where NHL coaches use 20 game increments to gauge what their clubs are. That mark is coming up and so far, it's not good for reasons known only to the players and coaching staff.

Unless a team sees Frederic as Tom Wilson and is willing to overpay egregiously at the deadline (honestly, I could see this happening, unfortunately) I think moving on from him would be a huge mistake for the Bruins. He’s not a world beater, and he was never going to be. He’s a very sod bottom six utility player with some offensive upside who is extremely strong on the puck, physical, and plays a pretty decent two-way game. The fact that he got close to 20 goals the last few years astonishes me based on his first few seasons in the NHL. He is one of the few players on the Bruins with heart. He’s a young guy with an old-school attitude. I think it would be suicidal to the Bruins identity to trade him and there are many MANY more who I would have no problem with them shopping way before it gets to him. They could start with their massively overpaid and underperforming blue line LOL. Defense was already a strength (on paper) before they went out and spent to the moon. well, it seems that the Bs are right back into a troubling display of " hockey. " they looked much better defensively in their two shutouts against weak teams, but now the defense is back at it again, not covering the net and taking useless penalties. all i can suggest is to resort to archaic fundamentals when there are no answers to be found. if they want to play selfish and undisciplined hockey, force feed 'em some discipline and unpleasant consequences. dr. honcho prescribes positional play and covering the net drills for the Dmen until they are ready to fall down. suicide skating drills for everyone until they puke or pass out. monty needs to make practices like going to a dentist who has no novocaine as a reward for embarrassing losses featuring selfish play. hint : when a child can pretty accurately assess the play and faults of a team, she is probably fairly precocious, but also the team's faults are simple in nature. we don't need monty resorting to his beloved hockey babble. make practices half as painful for the players as the games are for the fans. we're the ones payin'. monty should be forced to view the slapshot movie sequel with the fancy team. that is the Bs right now. kickass fundamental hockey is always fun. if you can add some talent, you have a winner. that is the Bs potential.

    The game was bad!
They need to bench mcavoy and zadorov, till the figure out how not to take penalties. The zadorov signing is looking realllyyy bad!! Lindholm’s FA signing is looking bad and that is what 7 years?
This off season all i saw was Sweeney going after bottom 6 players. Then wasted all the cap space on two players that just aren’t showing how they are worth it.
Not sure a trade will make a big difference.

I don't think Fredrick should be the scapegoat as a fix all. If the Bruins want to clear cap space to bring in secondary scoring. The Bruins need to move Coyle. Not worth his contract.

I hope they do better tonight. Pasta has got to be better, take away his A pretty soon if he’s gonna continue to turn over the puck like a turnover machine. Just the dumb penalties he takes also. I know it’s still young into a season but he’s only projected to have 64 points with 90 penalty minutes… gotta have him better defensively, stop turning over pucks and, stop taking penalties, he just has to be the old pasta he was.

14-9 on give away’s. Sad! Again, to many dumb penalties. I guarantee if they could “fine” the players on dumb penalties it would stop. They get another PP only to get called to make it a 4 v 4. Unbelievable! I wasn’t sold when they won their last 2, this proves they are nowhere near where they should be. “If” they fire Monty and get a new coach and they still play like crap, what then? I’ll always support my team but it’s just so disappointing and embarrassing.

Lost on stupid penalties - again. That was just too much ice time on your heels against a good team. B’s actually controlled a lot of play and they simply did not convert on hi-scoring chances. Swayman did well and 3 of those goals were not on him. It is just the way the game went. It happens - just sucks it was against the Leafs. Oh, and Monty, find other “privileged” players on specialty teams. They clearly lost the privilege coach.
