  • Some people think that you go to Bible college or seminary and you become a pastor. Let me ask you this, has God come to you and given you something that you did not have before? Has God given you a gift? Has God given you power to be able to carry out the work of a pastor?

    A year ago I claimed to feel a call towards ministry work as a pastor. However, nothing had really changed in my life nor my walk with Christ. It wasn't until after I realized how little I knew of my Faith and even how little I knew of the Author and Perfecter of it that God gifted me with a ministry to lead international students on my campus. Once I recognized my complete ignorance I immediately poured myself into the scriptures and studied church history. For several months I even fell into a trap of looking into Roman Catholicism and almost started catechumen classes. Praise God that I now understand why I must be a PROTESTant. As God has revealed himself to me in scripture he gave me a new zeal to share the Gospel to everyone I meet. I still find myself lost in my sins sometimes but I now feel the conviction for my sins and try to keep my thoughts on my saviour always. It's been a journey but I can now affirm that God has given me the gift to become a proclaimer of His Word and a Pastor of His people for His Glory alone. God is Good all the time and all the time God is Good.

      @@emmanuelemmanuel4487 Being Holy is following Christ, which is the opposite of Catholicism. Protestants dont pray to mary for intercession, they dont kiss prayer cards of ''so called saints'' nor do they call ministers in church ''father''. No prayer beads or vain babblings/chanting... No statue worship kissing/touching for ''holiness''. All of these things are deemed evil and abomination in the eyes of God, read your Bible and it will tell you quite clearly. the roman catholic church is a pagan satanic religion, no different than demonic islam to confuse and confound the masses, both use the Bible to justify their unholy origin. islams false credibility is due to Abraham himself, as he was used to justify islam and connect it to Judaism and Christianity even though there is no truth to it whatsoever.

    Indeed. No man should take on the mantle of Pastor unless he is mature in the faith and he KNOWS God has called him to it. It's too important a task to just "think" you should do it. Frankly, I find that awesome responsibility frightening.

      James Davenport , frightening is a great word!! When God called Moses his mentality was "I am definitely not your man. I am not qualified." Jesus said, "You did not choose me, I CHOSE YOU." It scares me to see the number of people who apply the words prophet and/or apostle to themselves. Then go on to live comfortable, cushy lives in this world!! TRUE prophets and apostles of God are under threat of violence and death 24/7. Isaiah was sawn in half. John the Baptist, Paul the apostle and James the brother of John were all beheaded. Peter was crucified upside down. And Jesus himself was brutally tortured then crucified. A TRUE prophet will be under constant pressure because they will be God's chosen mouthpiece on earth and will be speaking pure truth to a world, and sadly a church, that generally refuses to hear it!! (John 3:19-20, John 15:18-23).

    This is EXCELLENT!
    Too often men go into ministry for the wrong reasons. Whether they do so because there is no good churches around so they start their own without a true burden or calling from God for ministry or because they want the position of "pastor" and the supposed prestige that comes with it or the salary/benefits.
    The apostle Paul was in the ministry "not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead" (Galatians 1:1). I wish this were the case with so many so called pastors. Surely the church would fulfill its role of ministry better if pastors were up to the task and truly called to the task. Jesus knew what He was talking about, and was 100% right when He said "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher."

    I agree with this but i saw in 1Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desires the office of a bishop, he desire the a good work. So its a good thing to desire to be a preacher according to the word. As long as his motives are clean and he understands that his posture must remain in true submission to Christ

I believe there are men who are self-deceived, and HONESTLY believe God has called them to preach & pastor, but it is apparent to those looking on that they are not gifted nor capable of fulfilling such a ministry. Yet they carry on, even year after year. And it's no easy thing for someone to approach them & say, "I think you missed your calling."

    A few months ago, I thought I was being called to be an evangelist. Now, I'm not so sure due to the fact that I don't feel worthy or equipped for that type of responsibility. Part of it having to do with my spiritual immaturity and my thirst to be guided in my walk. I have family members relying on me to teach them, but I feel like I need to be taught myself... On the other hand, since I was a little girl, I've always felt the need and want to be a mom. I'm still single yet, but if the Lord doesn't come yet (which is less likely) I may experience that, hahaha.

      Dude, if you desire to be a bishop/overseer you desire a good thing (1 Tim 3:1). If therefore you are saved, and have the desire, and meet the biblical qualifications (1 Tim 3 and Titus 1) theb let the desire be known to the Church and be willing to be examined by the Church and hopefully ordained.
      These people who are advocating for some secret mystical "call" are chatting rubbish.

    I agree that nobody should will themselves into ministry. Women can be called into ministry too. My experience was amazing and unmistakable. Paul might have been opposed to women, but YahuShua [Jesus] wasn't. And He is the one handing out assignments.

    • @CalledOutOfDarkness
      @CalledOutOfDarkness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ericzmitrovich9011 Although women were not given a glamorous title like "disciple" or "apostle" in the New Testament, many women were a part of YahuShua's movement. Let's not forget, the first person that He revealed Himself to when He arose was a woman. Women have been used throughout the bible to both prophesy and fulfill prophecy. To narrow-mindedly dismiss a person based on gender is a mistake. The bible never said that men should rule over women. It says that husbands should rule over their wives. If a woman has been called into the ministry and has dedicated herself to serve Yah and not a husband, who are you or any other man to say she can't?

    • @CalledOutOfDarkness
      @CalledOutOfDarkness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericzmitrovich9011 I love when people quote 1 Timothy 2:12. When Paul says "But I suffer not..." he is clearly voicing HIS OPINION. I don't know if you've studied the personality of Paul, but he tends to be extreme. One day he is killing Christians the next day he's spreading Christianity across the known world. None of the 12 apostles who followed YahuShuo while He lived said anything repressive towards women. Let me ask, do you believe in the once saved always saved doctrine?

    • @CalledOutOfDarkness
      @CalledOutOfDarkness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you really want to know who shouldn't be preaching, it's people who don't know how to pronounce the true name of their savior, people who choose pagan holidays over YAH's Holy Days, and people who believe in the once saved always saved false doctrine. Those people need to flush what they learned in seminary school down the toilet, open their bible, and allow the Ruakh Ha'Kudesh/ Holy Spirit to minister to them.

    • @CalledOutOfDarkness
      @CalledOutOfDarkness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericzmitrovich9011 Following men, instead of the Holy Spirit, is why many modern Christians stuff their faces with pork, worship a tree every December 25th, and choose to die in their sin rather than live in obedience. Faith without works is DEAD!
      What is not rational is treating a man's opinion, "But I suffer not..." as if it's gospel. I follow the Lamb not a lackey, and YahuShuo never discouraged women. In fact, He encouraged female participation in the story of Mary and Martha. And He defended women too, like when the woman anointed His feet. He is a gentleman.
      Paul is NOT one of the original 12 apostles. His conversion was post-crucifixion on the road to Damascus. His conversion did not make him a god. People get saved every day. He remained a mortal man, and mortal men--believe it or not--are flawed.
      Even the teachings of Moses were clarified through the teachings of YahuShuo. In fact, YahuShuo corrected several men during His ministry, going as far as telling Peter, "Get behind me Satan..." I'd really love to hear my Savior, have a one-on-one with Paul about his misogynistic views. I wonder if He'd say something along these lines, "I'm glad that you've stopped persecuting me, but why are you targeting the weaker sex?"
      I guess that being a bully is a hard habit to kick.
      It's really funny that you are accusing me of picking teachings that I like and discarding the rest. That practice has been going on long before I was born. Which is why we have so many denominations--denominations that were created by men. I follow the teaching of our heavenly FATHER and HIS Son. I respect the opinions of my fellow brothers and SISTERS in Christ, but recognize that only the FATHER, Son, and Holy Spirit are perfect.

    Listen to this man on this subject, you cannot choose your calling. School will teach you how to handle the masses, how to handle money, and how to yield the power of the church to the IRS through the 501C3 for a lousy tax break. There's a mess in the church because of self proclaimed fake prophets instead of servants. If your want to do God's will, you must find out what God's will is. If you cannot hear his voice, do not accept a calling given only by men. God speaks as cleary as a man, but he must find a reason to do it. He calls you not because of what you are, but because of what he can accomplish through you if you surrender your life to him. Do your homework and don't be deceived by vain words.

      Everytime a true church assembly comes to existence, that is the work of an apostle.

The validity of Judaism is based off of a mass revelation not the word of just one or a few people. Obviously, Mohammed wouldn't be believed by anyone intelligent. The thing is, this argument how many times you repeat it is simply unfalsifiable, you cannot prove god exists and I cannot prove god does not exist .. what I am saying is, that I am simply not convinced that it does exist until there is sufficient evidence for it. That's not the same as claiming it does not exist at all, that I would have to prove and can't. So what do we do with unfalsifiable claims?? We just let them be because there is no way to know they are useless, the default position however is also to not believe until there is evidence cause you could end up believing 2 contractions. Your belief is faith based .. is there anything that we could not take on faith ? How do you know that your God is the one and not Allah ? Faith ? Faith is as good as guessing it's a horrible tool to rely on
