Good to see our guy has a pro model now!
I think we should all be greatful and support his OnlyFans
it happens to the best of us. nothing worthwhile comes easy they say!
@@onthespectrum69is your pfp xavier so based
He wanted to leave, but the skateboarding community said, "Not yet."
@@KevinNiceTry congrats on your Nine club win 🎉
Shoutout these workers for making some of the best boards about
I feel bad for them
@@J.G.Wentworth69420 why?
@@rajs4719is easy to guest man. Why do you think these boards are made in mexico or china. Because Labor is good and cheap specially in Mexico. So, they probably are getting payed minimum Mexican wage which is around like $10 or $15 USD per day. Also, Mexicans are used to work more than normal shifts plus poor labor conditions. Same case with clothes, shoes, etc. They are "cheap" for a reason.
@@xXavokx and whats the alternative? They don't have a job and they live in poverty struggling to feed their families
@@rajs4719well it’s also a kick in the guts for American workers where some people who may have this skill, but corporations decide to go overseas to increase their profit margin.
Alas, I hope they are getting payed a liveable wage.
The unicorn is the perfect graphic for your plight Ben. You are always chasing that unicorn setup 🦄 and DLX finally gave it to you!
That anti hero graphic on that board looked so clean I love anti hero
I had a Bob Burnquist in 1997, that was one of my favorite decks in 40 years. Anti Hero is so sick.
I'm pretty sure you get this a lot but you genuinely are one of the best Skate channels on TH-cam. Everything you post is always a blast to watch! Keep it up Ben!
Thank you!
THE best
Thank you Ben for showing this and thank you all hard working people in Tijuana, for providing the best piece of wood a man can have.
Dang. You should write commercials for viagra
I like that you matched the background music to the vibes of the music playing in the shop and the fact that BBS is in Mexico. Cheers. 😊
That was kind of the idea. You hear Latin music playing all day in the woodshops so I wanted to keep the vibe true.
Ben does what Ben does best... Entertains... Definitely an outside of the box kinda guy... We love the miscellaneous content... I'm glad to see this channel still around...
I'm impressed with the entire staff all wearing proper PPE. Good on BBS having employee safety being a top priority!
Transcending from gear reviews and creating a travel vlog was always Ben's destiny.
I wouldn’t say no to that
IT WAS GREAT HAVING YOU BEN YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME BACK ANYTIME. BBS IS THE BEST
Thanks Willie!!
A mellower mold on bbs wood is a dream. Thank you for helping them with this.
That’s Jim Thiebaud? That’s so funny he made you a graphic. You’re living my childhood dream. I hung in the DLX store on Market a lot from like 94-98. I was really into Real, and I took the Real oval logo around the time they put it in the coffee cup for a graphic and sent in a collage I made from a Penthouse with the oval logo where she was spreading it, and Jim sent me back a letter and a graphic he made for me and some stickers or something…I still have that letter saved from Jim somewhere. I think it was sign Jim and Tommy. I must’ve been maybe 14 or 15.
They just reopened the DLX store a few months ago!
@@normanl.6891 it closed? The one at the top of Market st? Where are they now?
@@mikeuptegrove yea they were closed for a while. Same spot, 1831 Market
@@normanl.6891 thanks for the info. I had no clue. I probably haven’t been in since the late 90s. Glad to hear they’re still holding down that spot. I used to frequent between FTC and DLX, hang with Joey, Andy, and Bart, then bomb down to DLX. Only guy I recall by name was Mark. They had different guys in and out more frequently. But we’d, hit the shops and rip Market all the way to the Pier and Bay Blocks, and skate all day. Those were the days. I still have all my old DLX shirts in a box somewhere.
Great watch! Always been a BBS fan, rad to see behind the scenes!
Your videos never fail to brighten my day, thank you Ben!
My pleasure!
the literal dream to put your fav graphics on the shape you want. You deserve all the love skateboarding is giving to ya amigo!
I was irrationally happy watching you grip up that fresh board.
Happy to hear it :)
This is just beautiful. And the unicorn deck looks amazing!
Honestly I really want that unicorn graphic.
😅
Same, Take my 💰
If it comes in 8.125 I will buy
Sign me in
Same 🤣🤣
Brother, we NEED that graphic!
This was great. Can't say it enough, thanks for what you bring to skateboarding. 🦄
Congratulations on everything you earned through hard work and dedication. Your impact on skateboarding is immeasurable. These experiences are a direct result of commitment and sacrifice. Well deserved!!
Thanks for taking us on this tour, congrats on the boards!
Love these kind of videos and Ben explains everything so well. Salute! ❤
Such a cool video. After skating for so long it’s dope to see what goes in to making the thing we all love.
Bens adopted the gifted hater upload schedule, makes everyone more great-full when he does drop a vid instead of over-saturating his channel. Other skate channels take note
Horses for courses.
This is amazing!!!!. It’s like all those years of doing these videos has led up to you taking a tour at the worlds biggest skateboard manufacturer! Well done Ben!
Ben I’m very happy you never left 🙌🏾
Great video. There are more stages involved in creating a deck than I had imagined.
Thanks for this visite!! It's at an other level from the Paul Schmitt shop... I'm super stoked for everything that happened to you. It's well deserved! Skateboarding needs your ideas. Keep pushing Ben!
Awesome video, I really enjoy seeing the manufacturing process of the things I'm into like skateboarding and guitars.
Love to see how it’s made :) really dope behind the scenes look
This was such a treat! Greetings from Scotland. 😃
Dude all your videos are so informative! Had to patch a whole in the wall and learned so much from the carpenter channel!
Great video!!!! Thank you for showing inside
Congrats on this and really nice tour. Big Daddy Ben is such a blessing on TH-cam
Spitfire sticker on that guy’s ear muffs is a nice touch. I would love to work there.
Great vid and thanks for the tour. Congrats on the pro model!
Nice to see you back 👍🏻
Super awesome video !!! I WANT TO GO AND WORK THERE !!!!! THANKS A LOT !!!! WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND TO EVERYONE WHO participated
Very interesting!! Thank you so much Ben!
Very stoked to see this! Looking forward to trying that shape out.
I hope you like it!
I'm so glad for you, You are living the dream of a Lot of us
The puff of rust dust when your trucks hit the coping that didn't slide at all hahaha 😂
Very insightful, thanks Ben 🤘
Loved this Ben! I think it's great to see someone putting the manufacturing side of skateboarding in the spotlight. All skaters I talk to seem to have there favourite skate brands but when I talk wood shops with them, they are not so informed. For me, when I'm buying a new board my first priority is where the board was manufactured, then the brand preference comes next. I've found that board quality and longevity can be quite varied depending on which wood shop manufactured it and in my opinion, BBS is the best mass producer when it comes to quality. I have some other smaller wood shop favourites like Pennswood for example and I also have some wood shops that I avoid like the plague!
Welcome to the minority... I have seen the interest/knowledge about wood shops grow in the past 10 years or so. Hopefully it continues. Believe me when I say, 10 years ago it was abysmal.
It has also become more difficult to keep up with which brand uses which shop now, as it's not like it was then when you could simply know Plan B uses PS Stix (they don't anymore :( )... they might for some decks, Penn for some, and some unknown Chinese shop for others. All within a 4 month period... hell, a couple years ago I saw Element use 3 different shops within the same deck SERIES.
@@TheRealWarez 100%! Just out of interest, where are you getting your wood shop supply information from? I typically use the Wood Shop Directory on Slap Mag but wondered if there are any alternatives?
@@benj6107 While the Slap directory is nice, I've found it can be inaccurate for some brands... mostly the ones you actually need the directory for (REAL, Anti-Hero, Almost, Enjoi, etc. don't change their manufacturing very often, if ever, as you probably know).
So, I mainly go about it the same way I did before those resources such as Slap existed... I go online and try to find a website selling whatever board I'm looking at purchasing, that takes real front and back photos of their decks... Normally, if you can find that for said deck, you can zoom in and see whatever markings/engravings are on top. The Slap directory is very helpful in learning the woodshop markings, but like I said earlier, I never buy a deck anymore unless I see with my own eyes which shop it came from.
You can also try contacting woodshops directly... sometimes they will answer any question you may have about which brands they work with. Sometimes they act like it's a national security secret. Just depends on who is answering the email/phone that day.
Wow. So surprised it's still all done by hand one deck at a time! 😮Very artisanal.
Have to respect each board.
Awesome video as always!
Would love to try that shape when your deck does finally come out so an awesome opportunity you got with bbs and thanks for showing off the factory bet it was a cool experience
Can’t wait to try one of these out!
Oh Ben,
Own it , your a unique unicorn. LOL
Congrats on your own shape and going for quality over cheap quantity..
You have taken us through the factory a while back with the prof that cant talk faster enough to spit out all the information he wants to spit out.
Looking forward to seeing the next vid.
Excited for you and well done on the next part of your journey being more about quailty product production and staying humble.
Yeah i seen your nine club pod cast.
Thank you!
BBS is my fav! God bless these people
Great news. Great video. 👍🏻
Awesome ben! I love it!
No way
So cool to get to see!
Thanks Ben
Thanks Pat
This is great, man. Jim's the best.
🦄 (the perfect set up is like a unicorn)
I've learned there is no perfect setup. Sometimes you just have to get used to what you have.
😂 I didn't even get your joke on the first read
Sweet upload Ben. This was educational my dude. Thx again man. Till next time 🤙
Great video as always
Glad to see you brother
Dang!!!!, them boys are pumping out the decks!!!
epic! Thanks for the tour!!
Thank you Ben.
Great video!
The shape on the 8.25 looks incredible!
I would have been curious to learn about the apparent tiered quality scale at BBS. I know some brands that do BBS like DLX are just blank top but others like Limo come with a holographic BBS sticker.
Congrats, Ben! I am so happy about you working with dlx and doing this new shape. Your pro model, maaaan! What a nice surprise hehehe :) Cool!
This was a great video
Another really interesting video inside (could not be more inside) the industry, which is so rare! I used to go to Premium Wood when they were on the South shore of Montréal, but it was far from the BBS dimensions. Really funny the « Pro » board!😂
nice surprise to see a new upload
Cool vid. Thanks Ben.
HMMMM!?!?! UNEXPECTED DEVELOPMENT? Let's go!!! This is what I'm talking about Ben good shit!
Thank you Ben!
Congrats!
nailed it Ben.
Pretty cool you got this opportunity. Wouldnt mind trying out that shape.
That's cool. I've definitely skated something that's been in those vats.
Congrats on going pro!
Ben is officially a "TH-cam influencer" now. Gonna build myself an oldschool 9.625" 31.5" 14" 2
Wb kicktail board now
BBS is my favorite woodshop I'm hella jealous
This video was great but also touched on a few things but dealt with my own skating recently. I have discovered that anything longer than 14.25 for WB is just out of the question. Just like you said, it's an immediate feeling of "something's off." To go inside with your BBS experience, I discovered the dlx true fit shapes and feel like I'll finally have some consistency in my deck selection.
Man I hope it's something the public can grab at some point.. congrats man
This is so cool. Amazing stuff humans have created. Thanks for sharing the experience. I would like to go there. I wonder if workers get the hook up. Either way would be dope to see all the new shit before its out.
Although they're quality boards, seeing a bunch of workers who don't care about skating, making boards on a higher scale of operation, kinda takes the heart and soul out of it.
This is the coolest shit ever Ben. Thank you.
I've been waiting years for you to do this not going to lie but patience goes a long way but I knew this was coming one day
there's a local skateboard company in Ottawa Ontario here that does 8.5 boards with a 14 inch wheelbase, it's so good, they're called NBS (New Beginnings Skateboards), been around since 2008 or 9
You better not be lying because I’ve been looking for that unicorn for a while.
Can you share an address? Moving there this year and id love to know a good shop.
❤ Such an epic day.
Sure was :)
Looks like a type of heaven
Ben! I’m 21 years old and have never had a pair of Etnies shoes but as soon as I saw you post about the snake reissue I went and picked up a pair and I absolutely love them! They skate like a Nike Dunk but dont feel like concrete at first. The insole was a bit bouncy so I replaced them with some NB# ones and they feel amazing. I would’ve never known about or bought these shoes if it wasn’t for you shit talking Etnies
I’m happy to hear it🙂 Yes they are dunkish in how they skate.
Nice video.
Just sent an email to a few local skate shops asking for the "unicorn" pro model. Hope this gets back to Real...
Canadian in Mexico luv to see it
I think it’s great that if it’s not working you always say so, then going into the reasons why ( not talking about unicorn graphic) thanks Ben
Great deck !##
I want one! I'd love to be able to go into my local and buy a Ben Degros board. Kinda wish the graphic had a joint knife and a bucket of mud or something lol.
On a WKND 8.5MP so 31.875 with a 14 wheelbase - enough realestate for my old ass and just twitchy enough that it flips nice. Loving it after lots of 8.5/8.375 Krooked/Anti Hero’s and 8.5/8.475 Bakers - more nose and tail width and not so long log feeling
Sick hoodie.
I'd actually skate the joke pro model, we need more ironic print graphics,
everyone takes there graphics too seriously especially with the core brands.
glad to see you still rippin!
I love BBC Decks. So thick and poppy.
