Every time I hear Drak talk about his son I'm reminded of the fact that that poor boy is going to have 3 older sisters raised by Drak. He's got no chance.
Once I had someone explain to me that the Rite of Succession was basically a scaled up stamp collection event (y'know, something done in Japan as part of a vacation), the first half of the expansion made a lot more sense to me. Though even then I was a bit irked that our "vacation" was us getting involved in the politics of another country. ....And then the second half of the expansion was ANOTHER interdimensional conflict clashing with enemies from another shard, ANOTHER potentially world ending cataclysm that we had to stop, ANOTHER venture into a different shard to meet and befriend it's people, ANOTHER internal conflict as to whether or not we're on the right side of a battle for existence and acknowledging that for us to win someone else has to lose. Y'know, the whole thing that Endwalkers and Shadowbringers were BOTH about. The sort of intense and dramatic stakes that Dawntrail was advertised to us as getting AWAY from. To this day my biggest gripe with Dawntrail is the sense of false advertising. We were sold on an uplifting, easygoing adventure where we return to our roots as an explorer and adventurer, seeing new corners of the world and facing the unknown for the thrill of discovery! But in the end that's not what we got :/ I get not wanting to spoil the story, but I wish the advertising had been a bit more honest. Or at least came at it from an angle that more accurately conveyed the story we were getting. But between the disconnect of "promised vs reality" and the overbearing lack of agency for our WoL, Dawntrail really kinda fell flat for me.
People wouldnt have been able to handle a light hearted adventure expansion. Just look at how much they're whining about Dawntrail already. Not for the reasons you list, yours are legitimate criticisms, I also expected more adventure even if I'm stoked about what we actually got. But most of those that complain about Dawntrail complain about the lack of scions and us not being front and center... Anytime we are front and center its going to be hard to not go down the "epic" route. I enjoyed the first half of dawntrail a lot more than the second half, and I was genuinely dissapointed that my adventure with Erenville got cut short.
When i played though this area, i couldn't help but think I've become like Emet-Selch; i could justify ending all of these Alexandrian "lives" because i didn't consider them alive and i was choked up the whole time.
The endless are just memories that need living souls, those souls that are consumed and can no longer go back to the aetherial sea, gone FOVEVER. Just imagine someone you loved passed away, their memories are unloaded into a computer that you can interact with , but for the computer to work you have to kill somebody for those memories to keep it going.
@@foxeylela150 And that is what we were in the eyes of Emet Selch as well, thats the whole point of Living Memory, and it flew right over the head of so many people.
As much undeserved crap as Wuk Lamat's VA has gotten, I really am glad they got her to re-record her lines for this final fight. The direction the first time through was so weak.
Dawn Trail dragged in the 2nd half but I didn’t notice it *as* much I think because I spaced it out to where I appreciated how the story went a bit slower-of course, each to their own! But yeah lol. Also I didn’t expect AI Keaton to be Indian and the deadpan of it all made it brilliant; improvised but much appreciated
The way drak responds to AI Kiht makes me struggle, Was the AI added in post? Did this happen in realtime on stream? Are these Drak and AI kiht conversations both added in post?

That indian Keaton was perfect

Despite her erased memories, Sphene somehow remembers WHM Stoneskin from ARR to yeet at us as an attack.
AI Keaton is broke. Bring back the Southern Belle mod please🙏
That was a great improvise though w/out the audio😄 i thought Drak had chat text-to-speech 😅

@@NoBuddy89 Emet Selch saw us a incomplete souls, broken pieces that needed to be put back together to make a whole person.
For a minute I thought Drak was talking to an ai. what an age we live in to legitimately think that.

Apparently she was given bad direction when she talked about it if because Japan/SE is weird about voice direction to avoid spoilers.
@@Sanodi21 Bad direction, yes, but she's not good no matter what.
What was wrong with her voice acting?@@reverieofmusic436
I like the new and improved Keeton
Wait how'd you know what Keaton was saying with the audio missing? Uncanny how accurate it is.

14:50 This is how I feel anytime an Alliance raid boss sends out their aoe TBs. edit: also 16:04
Aww, I wanted to see the emotional destruction
you call that improvised, but i'd call that inspired
i *am* imagining how she actually sounded and it's still hilarious

What's with the weird ai voice in the background?
0:26 drak forgot to record the discord audio, so kev 'improvised' keaton's chatter with him
Did you even pause to read text on screen???
