Hello ! Former Flight Attendant here, I will tell you that passengers always complained about turbulence during meal times.. one thing that people don’t understand is we are usually still climbing or having to climb within that time frame and we have a ton of work to get down to serve you. We are always one or two steps ahead of the next service as we need to be to make it a great service for the passengers, you can’t go wrong on this Airline, they are , in my opinion the best Airline in the world next to Cathay Pacific..
I flew Emirates Business class from Houston to Dubai last November and I used the little Ipad thing to keep the flight map playing while I watched a movie on the big TV screen. I loved being able to see the flight map and not having to stop my movie to see where I am.

Also, I would only add such a glowing comment if the shown review wasn't contradictory, like in this case. Or did you not watch the whole video?
Mkoni Dama Definitely agree on Singapore Airlines, if you would have said Etihad, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Eva Air or ANA, it would have made more sense, but Turkish Airlines ? 😂😂😂🤣 On their shitty 2-2-2 business class configuration, their new business class on their 787 is average as well 🤦🏻♂️
Great video Josh. Regarding your questions on middle eastern airspace specifically in the gulf. I’d fly over Baghdad no problem because I know there are sophisticated defense systems in the area. My issue however would be over Iran. After the growing tension between Iran’s and the US in the first few days of the year and the subsequent shoot down of the Ukrainian aircraft that would cause me some concern. Furthermore, there’s the ethical question of whether airlines pay Iran to use their airspace, these are just my opinions and feelings. Others will probably say it better than I can.
The tablet is really handy for changing channels and controlling your seat if you're lying down. All you have to do is turn to your side and use the tablet
Great balanced view of your Emirates experience Josh, one of your best reviews. I think Air France would be a contender for the best selection of wines.
Just did SYD-CHC-SYD on Emirates A380 first leg in First (seat 1A) and return following day in Business (seat 9A). Same crew all of whom were very friendly. Bar was only setup for SYD-CHC which was disappointing. Agree about inflight food - average. I had eggs for breakfast that were basically hard boiled and chicken for return dinner extremely dry. Used Qantas First lounge prior to departure - very poor when compared to flights a couple of years ago. No newspapers by 7.00am when I left and paper towels in the bathrooms (used to be cloth). I strongly recommend Emirates lounge in SYD unless you're getting spa treatment in QF. Good review Josh !!!
@10:10 I normally use it as a way to have the live map playing on my side while watching something else on the main screen. I’m flying Business on their A380 on Friday. I’m looking forward to it!
I have had 4 flights long haul with Qatar in january 2019 and and 4 flights long haul with Singapore airlines in january 2020! and sinagpore wins! qatar was good but singapore was the best !!
The one and only time I flew Business Class was on Emirates 380 from New Zealand to Birmingham return. My client paid. It was an amazing experience which I will always treasure. The crew were amazing and the bar was such a cool experience.
Etihad's catering and food was really good and I also love the A380's lounge. Qatar's Qsuites were nice but since Quistes were on A350 that I flew on, I missed the lounge as A350s don't have a lounge. Also at some point, I was getting a little claustrophobic in Qsuites. But Qatar does provide pajamas and it makes a huge difference on a long-haul flight. I like the champagne choices on both Etihad and Qatar.
I like Emirates, and I flew it to destinations all over the world on both business and first classes. I trust their service to Christchurch is the longest commercial route? On a few occasions I literally flew around the globe with the first and last flights on Emirates. And that tablet (which is not an ‘iPad” from Apple) is useful as a controller when you are fully reclined in the sleeping position. The WiFi is complementary for customers with a certain level on the Emirates loyalty program (silver and above?). I don’t care about the wine or alcohol selection - yet that “pub” area in the back by the toilets is a favorite of mine for chats and conversations with the crew and fellow passengers. I never fret over flying through the airspace of countries like Iran or Iraq - North Korea might be another matter, though?
Flying Emirates for the first time in Business Class on the A380 is what turned me into an Avgeek. It was just such a major improvement from all the US airlines that I had been used to flying with. That being said, I recently flew on the Qsuite and I have to say that Qatar is definitely better.
There is an underlying humor in this dudes face. Its like he wants to laugh every time he looks in to the camera lol. I like it, it's like he brings u in on an internal joke.
Cultural heritage plays a significant part in customer service on airplanes. Planes are your first glimpse of the country. The problem with service on the Big 3 Middle East carriers compared to the Far East carriers is the number of expats Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar use as flight attendants who are not familiar with eastern hospitality. That's why airlines such as Singapore Airlines rate so well. I think Josh did a video of Pakistan Airlines and although the plane was not in the best shape and was delayed the service was spectacular.
I flew TG's A380 BKK-NRT which is one of thier premium route &T the service & hard product was very average. I have flown from at least 4 cities out of Pakistsn to DXB & the service has almost always been exceptional.
Hi Josh! I really liked your video (the first one) and I already subscribed. Looking forward to see more of your report (plus your last videos ;) ) In my opinion the best wine list in Business Class is in my hometown / county on Austrian Airlines. Their wine list on long haul flights served 3 red wines , 3 white wines, one champagne 🍾, one (mostly) rosé sparkling wine, a Prosecco from Do&Co, one port and one Austrian style kind of port wine. Plus of course the classic spirits and of course Schnaps. Kind regards
Great Video! Was at the same flight like ;) but in economy :( I agree with you WiFi was really slow on this flight and yes the cabin was really quite (only 62 dBa) even when we started!
Love VA J on the 332. Stunning service, food and amenities. Things have changed recently but cannot fault. EK looks great even with less salubrious catering. Thanks Josh!
i think emirates wifi is so slow because economy pax are given 2 hours free. if its an empty flight its quite good but when its full its really slow. Although, i quite like this as i have 7+ hours to disconnect. Also, the entertainment makes up for lack of wifi.
Was only 20mb last time I flew with them.. I wish they upgraded it to work faster. Even WhatsApp is impossible on a full a380 and most of their 777 flights I've taken the WiFi didn't work at all
Amazing video josh! if you really love wine on planes you can't wrong with Air New Zealand! on one flight i took they carried 4 type of wine just for economy class and a second time in business class they had nearly triple that number!!
My favourite airline...especially in Business Class....and have always found the food to be excellent !! No problem flying over Iraq..Iran etc...if it wasn't safe they would not be going near the place !! Great and honest review as always Josh...thanks again mate !! Looking forward to the Bogan Express with Jetstar !!
I totally agree with you! We shall fly once more the A380 next Sunday, 9 February, from Zurich to Dubai and from there with a Boeing 777 to Cape Town. The wine choice is really poor in Business Class and the Food normally is just average. But the Onboard Entertainment ist fantastic. And we love the 380 bar!
I am supposed to fly Emirates Business Class from NY to Dubai on the A380 in November first week. I’ll let you know how it goes. However, this is my first time flying business class. 😃
Emirates must be cost cutting- there used to be juice & soft drinks in the mini bar not just water and the wine list used to be much more extensive. Yes the food is marginally ok (also used to be better) but you can always get more to eat from the on-board bar. The club sandwiches are good & the gourmet meat pies are very tasty...
Gee Cee I think it depends on the route. I flew from Nairobi to Amsterdam and had more than 6 wine choices and a lovely meal service. The flight from Dubai to Amsterdam was in the A380.
My friend flew business class on holiday to Dubai. He had his ipad stole by one of the cabin crew and tracked it to her accommodation. Reported it to the appropriate channels and nothing was done. The lady was even seen on cctv entering the premises at the time the track was made. It is a great airline and business class is amazing but this and the poor way they failed to deal with it makes me think twice now...
Many passengers are complaining about Emirates Business class. My friend had a horrible experience 2 weeks ago, travelling from the US to Dubai. 2 of the bathrooms could not be used and the third one was flooded. When she approached the crew they ignored her. Food was horrible too. I wonder how bad is the Economy class!
Hi Josh; been following you frequently! Intrigued by your report. By now I'm a gold member with Emirates and have frequently flown between Auckland (where I live) and Holland. On the stretch Auckland Dubai (17 hrs) only 1 1/2 meal service, and lucky if you get your choice; and I mean business class! Service has really come down and am very disappointed! Thanks again for your coverage! Flip, New Zealand

Hi Josh Cahill he loves traveling with Emirates Airbus A380 has a personal entertainment and good service. Features include economy class, business class and first class. The flight attendant gives you a welcome drink and wet towels.
Josh, just wanted to say I’m hooked on watching airline stuff (even tho I rarely fly) but of all I watch, I like your ones the best. I appreciate your unbiased reviews. PS I thought this review felt really rushed. Almost like you didn’t want to do it... sorry
Hi! I think because the internet access is free for everyone (for the first 2 hours) I guess its pretty overloaded at the start of the flight. Hopefully it gets better once the freebee runs out. You also don't mention that if you are in business or first AND are a Skywards member its FREE for the whole flight. I am flying with them next week to Bangkok, hopefully I can find out.
To answer your questions Josh, I can’t believe you even went to Afghanistan let alone fly over Iranian airspace. I would never. Wine list and food has to go to Qatar, their menu is like a book. Thanks for the loo review as well and another very thorough review! Oh and I hate turbulence!❤️👍✈️
WiFi on Emirates varies. It’s much much better on 77Ws than 388s as a general rule. They have some explanation for this but can’t remember exactly what. Agreed on food, many other airlines are better. I don’t drink wine, so the wine list doesn’t matter. Pity you couldn’t share the on ground experience (customer service, problem-solving, lounges, chauffeur drive etc) as that where I think emirates are better than much of the competition, and is pretty important for some people (I used to travel a lot pre-pandemic and consistency was a thing).
The Bogan Express LMFAO. That sums up Jetstar from Bali to Australia just perfectly. Dont forget to grab your Bintang Singlet wear your thongs on board and make sure your absolutely tanked on Beer prior to boarding to ensure the "full experience" as an Aussie Bali traveller. Geez Josh you get a free hair with your headphones and you complain!! Whats the world coming to its free for goodness sakes.🤣🤣🤣 Love your work, your style and your sense of humour 👍
The amount of crap that planes are airlifting to accommodate the 'modern' traveller today is truly amazing. When I fly (always monkey class), my needs are very few and modest. I have the screen on GPS-mode always, I eat whatever is served, and then I put the blanket over my head an try to sleep. If I am thirsty, I go to the galley and have a glass of water. That's it. I am a simple man. But I enjoy your videos 👍
You weren’t that impressed by the wine list. Don’t you know about Emirates Business Class Sommelier’s Choice? It’s tucked away at the back of the wine list. The wines on offer there are something else!
Always love your videos Josh ❤️✈️ think the bar experience could make or break an Emirates flight! I'm off soon LHR - SFO BA economy but paid extra (🤑 BA bean counters) for a window seat upstairs on A380 (so just x2 seats). Hoping for an empty seat beside me as last upstairs A380 was SQ LHR - SIN Biz Class which had excellent food, wine list, wifi, crew - I think I'm heading for a reality check!
Josh, my teenage niece used the ipad when she was lying on her side in the bed, just like she was used to at home in Ireland, so maybe it's designed for younger passengers???
I fly Emirates quite often and I get such upgrade offers 80% of time. It seems to me that they offer such upgrade deals a lot. For me I don't care about shuttle car or lounges, so it seems o be a great deal for me if I do want to have a good relax onboard.
That was a rough landing. In Aviation, a hard landing means a landing where weight of aircraft is twice the original weight on touchdown.I am sure it is rare.
Ya i avoid flying over the Middle East during times of conflict.....gives me a very uneasy feeling. Evwn with other airlines i made sure to pic those who avoids the area.
Agree Noel I have used Jetstar Asia quite alot within SE Asia, even though i never been delayed i have given up on using them because like you said, always canceling or changing departure times. Had enough of the B.S.
I will fly Emirates business class next month and have a question about the chauffeur service. I made my reservation on the website and am wondering if I will be contacted the day before to let me know exactly what time the car will arrive. Were you contacted before the day of the flight?
Hi Josh another great vlog. I have only flown business with Emirates once and had very bad service it was so disappointing they were on par with BA won’t use again
It's funny that this business class product is already a couple of years old, but there are still so many airlines that haven't reached that level. But why is Emirates unable to offer the same on the Boeing 777?
@@AA-tz2bm That might be the case. Nevertheless it must be possible to design a similar product. I mean if Delta is able to put the Delta Suite into a 777, why can’t Emirates offer a 1-2-1 seat layout?
I fly Emirates business class a lot and I love the comfort of the 380 and their car service which I my 2 main reason for using them. You are correct the catering is not great and I think it's got worse especially with their new presentation. My other gripe is that I disagree about the lounge experience at Dubai, it can be so crowded it's hard to get a seat. Yes the crews are nice and no I have never used the tablet

Airlines always pay the countries over which they fly in the form of 'overflight fee's'. Nothing ethical or unethical about it.

So, what do you do to avoid it? Call the airline before booking and ask them about potential flight paths?
Wow I wish I can visit too that country, keep safe man
Thank you Josh for this authentic video. We really like your honest videos.
Four choices and ran out of all of them the time you got served. I guess when sitting in the back row got to expect that.
"Bogan express" hahahaha yep that pretty much sums up Jetstar
WiFi on Emirates varies. It’s much much better on 77Ws than 388s as a general rule. They have some explanation for this but can’t remember exactly what. Agreed on food, many other airlines are better. I don’t drink wine, so the wine list doesn’t matter.
Pity you couldn’t share the on ground experience (customer service, problem-solving, lounges, chauffeur drive etc) as that where I think emirates are better than much of the competition, and is pretty important for some people (I used to travel a lot pre-pandemic and consistency was a thing).
I'm flying this tomorrow, albeit on a short CHC-SYD hop. Excited!
That’s cool, enjoy! I’m flying to Sydney tonight as well :)
Wine list? Very important. Up to now the best is qatar air but klm has a small but nice choice too.
The drinks at the bar are free or should we pay for it??
That was one hard landing XD
That was a rough landing. In Aviation, a hard landing means a landing where weight of aircraft is twice the original weight on touchdown.I am sure it is rare.
Ye, I thought that too!
Ya i avoid flying over the Middle East during times of conflict.....gives me a very uneasy feeling. Evwn with other airlines i made sure to pic those who avoids the area.
I like the two screens. One you can watch a movie, the other you can watch either the cameras or routing.
Good and informative review. Good luck flying Jetstar although if they know you are flying, you may avoid usual cancellations and long delays
Agree Noel
I have used Jetstar Asia quite alot within SE Asia, even though i never been delayed i have given up on using them because like you said, always canceling or changing departure times. Had enough of the B.S.
Turkish airlines has its own wine menu separate from the meal menu
Have you flown Emirates 777 business class? How would you say the 777 compares with a380 business class? Great content too! Thanks for your effort
Watch your moving map on the hand-held device. While you are watching a movie on the big screen!
Do we have to buy from the bar behind? Or the items are free in the business lounge behind
I will fly Emirates business class next month and have a question about the chauffeur service. I made my reservation on the website and am wondering if I will be contacted the day before to let me know exactly what time the car will arrive. Were you contacted before the day of the flight?
His upgrade did not include chauffeur service.
Wonderful and informative as always - love you man , keep up the good work.
Hi Josh another great vlog. I have only flown business with Emirates once and had very bad service it was so disappointing they were on par with BA won’t use again
Thanks Josh - that was REALLY useful!
A big part of buying a business class ticket is the food, so no choice is very bad Emirates is not the Emirates I remember.
Always an objective professional view Josh, Tx.
It's funny that this business class product is already a couple of years old, but there are still so many airlines that haven't reached that level. But why is Emirates unable to offer the same on the Boeing 777?
I hate the 2-3-2 configuration on the refreshed 777 cabin for Emirates business class
Idk maybe cause the 777 doesn’t have the same width?
@@AA-tz2bm That might be the case. Nevertheless it must be possible to design a similar product. I mean if Delta is able to put the Delta Suite into a 777, why can’t Emirates offer a 1-2-1 seat layout?
travelmentary TV unfortunately they value profit over customer comfort a little bit too much.
The only way I ever see emirates doing 1-2-1 is if they can do two or 3 777 flights to that city a day.
Thanks for the video 🤜🤛
I would say that Etihad airways has the best wine list in business class
Best airline
