Another record from the Cats in 1992: The next week after scoring 239, they scored 221. It is unlikely 239 will be broken (quarters were shortened from 25mins to 20 in 1994) but still feasible (Cats got 233 in 2011). Scoring 200 in consecutive weeks will never happen again (unless a rule change awards 10pts for a goal or something). 200+ has happened 3 times in the last 30yrs. Consecutive weeks would be monumentally low odds.
In 1993 I can remember Gary Ablett Snr. kicking 10 goals or more on at least 3 occasions in a losing team. If that's a record for having occurred that many times in the same season then it will probably never get broken. Other unwanted records that Ablett Snr. currently holds which will also almost certainly never get broken are the most goals in a losing team (14 v Essendon, 1993) and the most goals in a losing Grand Final team (9 v Hawthorn, 1989).
Seriously think Toby Green will reach 400, foundation giant is in his prime, small forward a bit like Boomer Harvey will just keep going, and gets better every year, as long as he isn't suspended too much
Fitzroy is a very old VFL team that joined in 1908 but it got kicked out of the league because it lost 51 games in a row, James Alegiun (The best Fitzroy player in history) he kicked the most goals in a game which was about 8 goals in a game against Brisbane in 1910.
The situation with North’s comeback wouldn’t happen today. The reason for the Swans capitulation was understandable: one of the club’s trainers had a heart attack two minutes in to the last quarter and was literally receiving CPR on the boundary at one stage he was eventually moved into the room La until an ambulance arrived but he eventually died. Game would be stopped today.
Fitzroy still holds the unbeaten record of greatest winning margin. They scored a 190points with 238 points vs 48 to Melbourne Geelong may have 239 but the margin was only 186 points - 4 points short of equaling the record.
The insane thing about the goal kicking record: Coventry kicked 1,299 and then, across many decades and so many different styles of play, just one person beat it. Lockett needed to be a brilliant forward, without a bad injury, for nearly two decades. It is insanely hard to beat his record.
in todays day and age that record will never be broken, buddy was honestly the last of the big forwards who could consistently kick 6 a game for a long period of time, the way modern footy is played 6 or 7 is so rare, let alone 13
I know some may compare Plugger’s record to Kareem’s NBA scoring record being broken by Lebron. But the days of key forwards kicking 10+ goal’s in a game and 100+ goals in a season regularly are over. Now 50-60 will win you the Coleman.
Hudson jointly holds the record with Bob Pratt for the most number of goals kicked in a single season, that being 150. That is a record that will never get broken, and obvious to me wasn't included in this video.
They got nowhere near it. Sydney scored 205 points against West Coast. The record score is 239 points. It would have taken almost an entire 5th quarter for them to have gotten past that score.
I can think of a few more. The greatest ever winning margin in a match, greatest ever Quarter Time score, greatest ever Quarter Time lead, greatest number of goals kicked by a player in one season, greatest number of goals kicked in a match by a player, greatest winning streak by a team at a particular venue, highest ever score by a team at a particular venue. These are all records that will never get broken and weren't included in this video, yet Scott Pendlebury is within touching distance of Boomer Harvey's most games ever played record which is far from safe.
@@darrenmiles-morland8038 Of all records Boomers is the most attainable , playing 400 games is becoming more and more common, innevitable that someone will break Boomers record.
@@ChannelBlaino During the past few days there have been many more records that have come into my head where I've thought to myself, "That's another record that will almost certainly never get broken." There are so many that you wouldn't be able to list all of them. But one of the more obvious ones to me that wasn't listed was Essendon coming back to win from more than 70 points down against North Melbourne in 2001. A comeback of that magnitude will never be repeated again. Another one that came to mind was Sydney kicking the highest ever Half Time score to get beaten. They kicked 19 goals in the first half against North Melbourne in 1991, and kicked just 2 goals in the second half.
Clean Demming in 1935 kicked 6 goals with his first 6 kicks in football (Carlton) Fred Fanning kicked 18 goals in one match in 1947 (Melbourne). Collingwood winning 4 premierships in a row 1927-1930. 4 brothers playing in the same game (Danibers at Essendon) a team winning every game in a season including finals (Collingwood 1929). Winning a premiership and wooden spoon in the same season (Fitzroy 1916) None of these records will ever be broken
Every year the Anzac Day medal is rigged. It's supposed to be awarded to the player who displays the type of courage that best personifies the Anzac spirit, but every year it gets awarded to the player who is best afield. Getting 40 cheap disposals or kicking 5 goals that are delivered to you on a silver platter from your teammates further up the field is hardly done in a courageous manner that would personify the Anzac spirit. Five or more acts of bravery throughout the course of the match would be more befitting of such an award.
Even though it’s not technically AFL but in 2012 Fitzroy vs Hampton Rovers ended with a score difference of 188 points which beats the Geelong vs Melbourne by 2 points
4:01 I reckon if Tasmania get a big player like what the suns did back with Ablett then the big player for Tassie (not sure who it could be) could break the record

In the Anzac game
I'm a port fan and still say we all love Pendlebury

I believe that Tom Mitchell has had most disposals in game(54) in AFL. Although, great video
That’s what he says in the video.
Zak butters with 56
I absolutely love this man's videos keep it up man
5:49 pretty embarrassing how gws’s lowest score was in the grand final considering they were in front at the beginning
“These records will NEVER be broken” *says Pendlebury can beat the record
just had to include it
To be fair, he said "could" but didn't say he thinks he will.
Then AFTER pendles nobody will

If Pendlebury can beat the record, then by definition is isn't impossible. Which means it should not have been in the video.

Brisbane Bears was founded as an AFL side in 1987, merged with Fitzroy in 1996
1992 Cats and the 2007 Cats and the 2011 Cats were some of the highest scoring Geelong sides.
