That picture of Mnggal-Mnggal still fascinates me. Is it assuming the form or a woman? Is she a guardian watching over it? Is she about to be attacked? Adds to the unsettling nature
As of just a few weeks ago the Anzati are canon again! One of them popped in the Insurgency Rising comic and is a member of the Acolytes of the Beyond.
8:31 I hate that phrase “brought into canon”. The legends timeline isn’t “non canon” it’s its own timeline. Being part of the legends timeline doesn’t make something less canon. It just means it’s canon in the legends timeline and not the disney one.
Its weird as an adult and realizing how my tastes have changed and the magnitude of suffering that beings are in always hits me more then zombies or eldritch beings. The Vong Playground in Traitor is easily one of the most horrifying things I have read in Star Wars.
For me, the true horrors of Star Wars aren't cliche zombies and viruses, corrupted Pensieves, usual alien vamps, Ungoliant expies, and evils personified simply named Palpatine; no, they're ones with indefatigable cosmic power and have actually shaped galactic history and beyond even before life was created, complete with secret and forgotten reality warping conflicts in-between, like some galactic epic Silmarillion. Cases in point, the godly Celestials (their creation, Centerpoint Station, is NOTHING compared to how they shaped and unshaped the ancient galaxy), their unintended spawn the Bedlam Spirits (says something that Splendid Ap had to be the in-universe father of the Disney Alt-universe, all while Tilotny, who later became the Soulworm, was the mother of the mentioned Mnggal-mnggal and even the prime ancestor of Zonama Sekot), and especially the World Between Worlds (any interdimensional gateway to different realms is already an undeniable danger; go look up Earth-ni and the Cleaving). With that, universes like the Alt-universe will be finished if at least one Celestial goes rogue/unsanctioned and marches on a full holy personal crusade to cleanse a wayward, doomed miscarriage of a realm... Splendid Ap better not grow a conscience and try protecting his illegitimate "creation" in return.
I think it’s one of the better written simply because it doesn’t have the restrictions a lot of other books have. Star Wars is at its best when the background is used as a genre set piece.
@ I mean it’s not like most stories with them have any tension per say. I did like how Red Harvest does go farther with the idea even in terms of who it kills
Aside from my Mugg Fallow map, you could probably use footage of the changelings' homeworld from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine ("The Great Link", I think it was called). I didn't base the map on it, but there were some pretty obvious and unavoidable parallels that inspired parts of it. Though I think Mnggal-Mnggal itself is loosely based on Armus from Star Trek: The Next Generation's episode Skin of Evil (which is not exactly considered peak Star Trek among fans, but the similarities are definitely there).
😑 . . . Uh, no. That’ll be yesterday’s meal, baked beans & mustard, that you’re smelling, @@goldenfiberwheat238; the ‘nickname’ for this fart is Mustard Gas . . . Shall I pass some more?
starting with blackwing and ending with mnggal-mnggal is a real full-circle thing since it was probably used in the creation of The sickness. Awesome vid!!! i have an obsession with star wars zombies, and your channel's my favorite star wars channel, so this was right up my alley!
The Sorcerers of Rhand and Cronal are my favourite minor horrific faction because of Luke Skywalker and the shadow of Mindor and the unknown regions RPG book. Terrifyingly cruel and ruthless with a hateful and nihilistic conception of the force, not to get into “pawns” and other such antics.
Starweirds are my favorite scary thing in Star Wars they are one of the things I want to see the most in live action and video games one of my wishes for Jedi 3 is to fight one as Cal Kestis with Merrin plus seeing Greez’s reaction to one would be interesting Little dude is always scared of something he would flip out lol
2:29 Maybe because they were all busy with their new job of being dead... Also given how the events of Red Harvest takes place only a few years before SWTOR's main events start, imagine if the Red Harvest Zombie outbreak escalated to be Galaxy wide.
Death troopers would be a lot better if Han and chewie weren’t in it. Pointless fan service that sucks out the tension. Also I love how the prequel is called red harvest. I think that’s a clever name and if you don’t know why, you probably aren’t as big of a Star Wars fan as you think you are lol
They keep trying to bring it back with all the walking dead spin offs amc keeps churning out. Also dying light 2, zombieland 2, call of duty zombies, and probably some others I can’t think of
Forgot to mention rakghouls who in swtor are used to fill out almost every imaginable zombie trope

DUDE SAME
The wiki suggests it is going to prey on that woman.
I've always assumed she has been preyed upon and is being controlled.
I think it’s like The Thing. She was a victim so it used her form to blend in until meeting the next victim.

I think it’s pretty obvious that Jacen fell to the Dark Side because he didn’t like and subscribe to Corey’s Datapad.
Any thoughts on Supernatural and Cult encounters? I recently started reading them, and I feel like it’s a perfect story for this season.
Someday, those novellas will finally get proper, undivided, ungrudging attention.

I loved the old creepy messed up Star Wars stuff.
Darth Vader. Even Disney has struggled to make him not be intimidating.
CORY! Eldritch Horror is my favorite game!
hell yeah, spooky
scary even!
Death Troopers is by far my favorite star wars book and that's only partially because it's the only one I've ever read.
I think it’s one of the better written simply because it doesn’t have the restrictions a lot of other books have. Star Wars is at its best when the background is used as a genre set piece.

@ with who? Han and chewie? Because that’s exactly my point. They shouldn’t have been in it

Skin of evil? That name makes me think of the flesh that hates, an scp (can’t remember the number). It’s actually similar
🤔 . . . And I quote from my Sith Inquisitor character in SWtOR “Rancor with a rash?”…
That’s not fear I smell is it

I’d love a Death Troopers horror movie.

The book death troopers would make a cool horror movie
The Super Battle Droids from Republic Commando
6:02 "Have a peaceful…whatever."
"Damnation."
Man the Han and Chewie reference made me miss the some guy Luke joke
I have good news about an upcoming video
@CoreysDatapad I genuinely can't wait, the first time you made the joke I did a full spit take at work, took forever to clean my monitors haha

More more!
I am so glad the zombie phase of media is done.
think that was awhile ago

Oh right the last of us 2 and the tv show
Nah bring it back, I love the undead
@ are you 12
Have you really not done this subject yet? Because I think even among SW videos it's been done to death and yes I intend that pun.
👍
