    This is a linear regulator and the greater you change the output voltage with respect to the input voltage AND the greater the current load the inefficiency [wasted] increases exponentially. This waste will be expressed in the form of heat dissipation at the main output transistor heatsink. Linear voltage control is ok in low voltage and current regulation needs. For Higher voltage regulation and current needs you use a PWM duty cycle driving a mosfet. Driving the mosfet fully on/off at its low RDSon resistance generates much less heat.

    Asking bro, for a circuit with improved ripple rejection what components need to be added?
    Note: variable voltage input from 11V until 15.7V and max 10A for output 12.5V - 10A
    I will use this circuit as a voltage supply for lighting, etc on motorcycles

      Just use a buck converter if you can live with the voltage dropping below 12.5V to your 11V source. Otherwise you would need a combination Buck/Boost converter so you can set the voltage to 12.5V and that device will boost when needed and limit [Buck] the voltage when needed automatically. I suspect you want to get rid of the variable in brightness with respect to engine RPMs. The buck alone would get rid of most of that.

    hocam aynısını yaptım ancak IRFP250 aşırı ısındı. R775 dc motoru 21volt dc ile çalıştırdım oda 2-3dk. ancak aşırı ısındı sürekli kullanmak için ne önerirsiniz..

    40 вольт на входе, 5 на выходе, при токе 1 ампер, это значит 35 ватт греют радиатор. Схема рабочая только где применить? Если lm317 заменить на таймер 555 который генерирует аналог шим, тут возможность применения сразу увеличится.

      да, лишняя энергия выбрасывается в виде тепла, но единственный элемент, который здесь нагревается, - это мосфет.

    دوستان بدانید که اگر ترانزیستور خیلی هم قوی باشد گرم میشود بهتر است از فن خنک‌ کننده برای استفاده طولانی مدت استفاده کنید چون اگر خیلی گرم شود میسوزد

    Bu devrede en ufak bir kısa devrede Mosfet yanıyor sağlıklı değil motor sürerken en ufak zorlanmada Mosfet yine yanıyor yüksek akımlı trafolara uygun bir devre değil

    I did this, it worked, but the IRF broke down under load, already at 8 Amps. I wanted to run a 7.2 Volt drill motor from a 12 Volt 14 Ah battery. Unfortunately, what is available in stores are also frauds, they are not worth half of what is written on them. I'm already thinking that it's easier to solve such things with a ballast resistor, these fashionable pieces of crap are not suitable for work.

      The involvement is nonsense. Zener diodes between G and S are missing. There is no discharge resistance (10-100k) between G and S. To power the induction load, there are 9 other components missing. For example, you must protect the G electrode against voltage peaks with a diode between R2 and Q1. The author doesn't understand electronics.
