This performance is fucking amazing. I had only heard people talk about 100 gecs as a meme for so long so I never really got in to them. Went through their entire discography a few weeks ago and its been a long time since I've been stuck on a band this hard. 😍
Quirky Hyperpop and how the vibe is memetic in it's own right. It's like mid-2000s Tumblr Culture. Embracing the Cringe instead of being ostracized by it
@@TheMockingjay74 fair enough, I never used Tumblr so I guess it ain't for me XD Honestly the best response I've gotten to this question btw, good job explaining it.
They’re vulnerable, raw, and their music is so visceral and unflinching in a world where capitalistic forces have twisted music into a generic product. More simply, they just make fucking bangers that draw from so many influences, from early 2010s pop, to 90s rock, dubstep, SOPHIE & PC Music, noise music, nu metal, ska, and so many more. Every song they make is so drastically different from the last. It’s just art. Stupid, messy, meaningless, emotional, genius, flawed, deep, ART. 100 Gecs do not make music with mass appeal, there’s a limited audience for this stuff, and it’s okay that you might not like it :3
@@Derangedlefty another well thought out and articulated answer. Thank you very much for your perspective! No, they aren't for me, and I clown on them regularly, but I can see where the appeal comes from now.
i love hearing all the guys in the audience singing "im the dumbest girl alive" its amazing
IM THE DUMBEST GIRL ALIVE!!!!! 🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
